I was in Tucson while my wife was there for a seminar. Java Edge was close to her seminar so I picked them because I needed a place with wireless so I could work. While I’m thankful for the free wireless, this was my first and last time here. Staffer Working on grinder. Took 20 min just to get a Café American. They ran out of ingredients for featured sandwich but rather than erase the special from their sign, the people behind the counter told at least half a dozen customers in an hour that they ran out of a couple ingredients for the special . I was working my laptop so waited for lunch rush to pass then ordered a sandwich. After waiting over 30 minutes and seeing 4 people served who ordered AFTER me, I went to counter to check. Was informed they«forgot» my order. I also requested plain green tea with my sandwich & was told they only had flavored … this as I was looking at a container of Sensa Green tea. Duh! No toilet paper in men’s room. Used paper towels. Lots of better places in Tucson for a java fix or quick bite.

I was in the area looking for wifi, Java Edge seemed to be the only location. They have a nice lobby, but the prices are outrageous! price on the menu are very inaccurate, and service is not good either, waited a long while even though I was the only costumer. No costumers were in the store when i was there and only 1 costumer showed up with in 2 hours. The coffee was nothing special. They were basically out of everything. they were out of caramel, vanilla, and white chocolate, so i had to settle for mocha. What kind of coffee shop runs out of that stuff? it was ridiculous. I see why the place was so slow. Food was tasty, but way too over priced. It was about 12 bucks for a sandwich and a side of chips… I don’t see how that place is still in business. Java Edge is not a place that I would go again.

Ordinary:(nothing special… stopped in for an iced mocha around 11 am on a weekday, place was dead, I was the only customer. Service was great and it was quick. The drink was tiny imo for the price and it was nothing id go back for.

I found myself searching in my phone for a Starbucks, figuring there were no locally owned places in the area. Luckily, my phone detected Java Edge and I was off to explore my findings. Java edge is a pretty cool place. They have comfortable furniture, free wi-fi and a business center in the back if you want to have a meeting. It’s a good concept given the area is full of various businesses. The coffee here was actually really good. I ordered a mocha blended drink made with soy and it was really delicious. It didn’t take very long for them to make it either. I was the only person there and it was in the middle of the afternoon so that may have had something to do with it. Their whipped cream was good too. The barista was friendly. All-in-all it was a good coffee experience and not overpriced either. Oh and they make their blended drinks with actual espresso. They do have a small pastry case that was filled with delicious looking things. They also have a small breakfast/lunch selection. It looked pretty good though I did not sample any of their food. Given that it’s one of the only coffee houses in the vacinity, I’d say it’s worth it if you’re having a coffee craving.

Java Edge didn’t do it for me. I ordered a bagel which was stored in a small case on the glass counter top. It took almost 10 minutes to get my order. I opened the bag and it was a toasted bagel, with mini cream cheese tubs and a plastic knife. I was expecting a little more after waiting 10 minutes. The selesction of breakfast foods was very limited. As far as I could see, if it wasn’t pre-packaged or toasted in a home style toaster it was available. The staff was just plain slow, generally nice, but slow. The 2 people in line in front of me were also about 5 minute orders and they ordered pre-packaged yogurt along with coffee. I heard the coffee was good but I am not a coffee drinker so I can’t attest. I would recommend checking out some place else until they read these reviews and make some changes.
