H.J. Krzysik

If I was able to, I would have given 0 stars to H. J. Krzysik and a BIG AVOID in front of his business name. Krzysik considers himself to be a Green architect. The only green he believes in is what he can easily put into his pocket. He says he does not swear and when you walk into his office you see a myriad of Catholic Crosses that he uses as a façade to hide his dishonesty behind. I had gone to Krzysik to get the plans for a house drawn. He had a set and I liked some of the layout but I also wanted changes such as 400 amp electrical service, a metal roof, no windows in the garage, small windows in the bedrooms and the three other bedrooms other than the Master Bedroom the same size. I also wanted attic storage, built in Rolling shutters and the block all the way up to the rafters. I had a soil sample test taken to determine the type of foundation that should be utilized. The plans were originally for a Stucco house for somebody else and the walls and foundation should have been changed to accommodate the weight of a house constructed of Block and the type of soil that the house was to be constructed on which would have been determined by the soil test. Kzrysik inserted my name on the plans, moved the Garage to the other side, changed the size of the rooms, only asked me about the elevations before he submitted them to Pima County for approval, of which the first time they failed for not being structurally sound. Kryzsik unable to correct the deficiency sent the plans to a structural engineer and charged me extra for his incompetence. When questioned about the voids in the plans, Kryzsik’s answer was that «The Plans Are Only A Guide To Go By». When one pays over $ 4000 for plans, they should have all the items that the customer requests. The customer should not have to fight with the architect to get the plans drawn to their liking. Because of these poor plans, there are several structural problems with the house as well as all of the other items that are in correct. I would never in the future use Kryzsiks services or recommend him to others. I do not believe that Krzysik is qualified to design an Out House.
