Great food and great service … For a family of four it was $ 35. Three of us had breakfasts and my son had the 49ers burger(the second time he has gotten one) and it looked so good! The waffle combo was yummy. And the Southern Bell breakfast with the chicken-fried steak with country gravy, hashed browns and biscuit quite filling for my husband. My daughter had an eggs-stra special and had it with a stack of pancakes which we ended up taking home. Our server Karen was attentive and coffee was refilled regularly. Located right next to the Big Five.

Service was great and friendly. The cinnamon raisin french toast was perfectly done and tasted amazing. The staff clearly takes time to get to know the regulars as there were a number of them in for a late breakfast today. I will definitely be making a trip back

Not sure what to make of this place. We did not order the right items apparently. This was our first time there. Pros: server was extremely chipper, menu was easy to read, NFL team burgers on the menu were fun to read through… interesting ingredients. Burgers looked really good as they passed by us. Iced tea stayed full and the place was full. Low cost options if that is what you are looking for. Cons: Our young server was in a hurry and kept cutting us off as if we were done ordering so she could move on. Felt she was too rushed to connect with us. Had to ask for missing side of gravy after several minutes of waiting. Never came back to ask us if everything was ok. Hash browns had a strange flavor and we thought they might be frozen. We asked… yes, they were fresh grated potatoes. Perhaps the potatoes or oil was old. Toast was basic wheat bread, dry and plenty of it. Scrambled eggs were dry. My husband ordered 2 scrambled egg breakfasts. Ate the eggs, left most of the food on the plate. It just was not appetizing. Side of bacon was curly and flavorful. Chef Salad was predictable. No hard boiled egg. Tomatoes and cucumbers were fresh. Turkey and ham strips were tasty but the flat layer of chicken salad underneath it all was out of place. The chicken salad tasted like it had gone bad which caused me to lose my appetite with in the first couple of bites. Would be helpful if menu listed ingredients on salads, Rodeo burger, etc. Expected homemade ranch dressing. Was disappointed it was Ken’s brand. Dining room felt a bit dirty. Will order pancakes or an omelet next time, if there is a next time. The basic breakfast was, well, extremely basic. We were not going for cheap, just wanted a hearty home cooked breakfast. Not impressed with past comments from patrons about the owner. Going local did not work well for us this morning.

Me and my fiancé drove around Tucson looking for some where new to eat. On the way to Jerry Bobs we saw this place and swung around. When we walked in we were greeted, we were told to sit where ever we wanted. The only thing is it’s a bit cramped but it’s kind of one of those hole in the wall buildings so it’s not uncommon to see that. The waitress was really nice, and let me just say I was happy with the speed of service considering she was the only one at the time serving the entire floor! We both ordered the Chef Special: 2 eggs, short stack of pancakes, 4 strips of bacon(or sausage) hashbrowns, and we got the option of toast or biscuits and gravy. We took the biscuits. Eggs were cooked over easy. Mine were a little undercooked in the whites for my taste, but I know it’s hard to get them just right without over cooking the yolks so not a big deal. The pancakes were my favorite! It came out with butter, not that fake margarine crap. They were crispy and fluffy and I kept eating them even when I was full! They put walnuts in mine, my fiancé got blueberries. I would recommend these for sure! The gravy was peppery and I loved it as well. The tea and coffee was good. Coffee could have been a bit stronger but we just like our coffee to punch us in the face. Again, nothing major. Not expecting the restaurant to be psychic. Staff was friendly and I thought the tuxedo t-shirts they wear we’re funny and cute. Adds a bit of personality to the place along with the Looney toon posters. I’ll be going back for sure. I had a good experience and I can’t get over those pancakes. Nom nom nom!

Food was not bad. Took a very long time to get it. I ordered«the thing» a blue cheese bacon burger. It came with a nice fresh sesame roll and looked like Applewood bacon, but did not taste like it. The blue cheese was dressing, NOT crumbles. I would have ordered a salad not a burger, if I wanted dressing! I wish the board would have been more clear about“the thing” by still, the onion rings were nicely done. Overall, the food was good, fresh but my friend ordered«the garbage can» and it was way way way smaller than what I got a few days ago when I ordered it. Weird. Maybe Sunday is the day for garbage can orders! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, the food is good, the owner seems to care that our experience is good. Give it a try. It’s in the strip mall near Speedway and craycroft.

The country music streams in from the kitchen. Tim, the owner, checks to make sure YOU are having a great experience. There is more of a feeling of Southern hospitality and Country mindset here than in any other Tucson restaurant. It may confuse customers who are visiting from large metropolitan cities where cafes don’t stand out like this. During football season, there were 32 different cheeseburgers offered. Right now its NASCAR-related. Ask about specials… he often wheels-out experimental dishes he’s just testing. Last week it was a combo«hot dog cheeseburger.» Speaking of which, their $ 5.95 cheeseburger & fries plate may be the biggest burger in town. Add a dish of ranch dressing for 50c. YES, the owner is much in evidence, but always on the humorous and«Hey, buddy! How ya doin’?» level.(If you wanted cool, silent austerity, why not eat in an ashram or monastary?) If he EVER gets angry, it’s because justice has not been served or somebody did something absolutely idiotic. It may make for one of many good stories this csfe generates. Their potato pancakes may be the best in Tucson! Now, if their coffee(served in huge mugs, by the way), was only a bit stronger and more robust… but they bring French Vanilla as well as half-n-half to flavor-it-up, at least… it would be purr-fect! A recent positive addition is 3 or 4 more spicy sauces for each table. Now I can have my $ 1.99 Special(2 eggs, hashbrowns & toast) and experiment with Habañero or Chipolte sauce! Whoooeee! Lots of mall-type parking. It’s right behind the«Big 5» store. I’m going there righy now… they close at 2:00!

i have been there three times for the breakfast special which i had loved it until the raised the price on the good bread. i had wanted to take my adult grandson from out of state to eat the world famous cinnemen rolls that are on the menu. got many different answers as to why they did not have them, the oven was broken, the owner had to feed the homeless every am and did not have the time., and moreover he did not plan to make them. today was the final for us. uncooked hash brown, not much butter on the waffle, no syrup, bad ham, like shoe leather and tasted bad, dirty glasses for the juice. talked ot the mgr who told me off and then tried to make friends and be forgiven. when that did not work he bad mouthed me and said i should check into the hospital that i had something wrong. my husband says he said that i had alzheimers. .however i did not hear that. my husband says this guy is very ignorant as to how to run a business. we are both former insurance agents and for both of us we were very successful, and did well with top companies, thanks to dale carnegie courses. we will never go back and want to find a good place with good waitress’s and good cooks. and a pleasant atmosphere.

Great breakfast place. The family feel and comfort food! Definitely will come back whenever I’m in Tucson. These places have been closing in Tucson so I hope this one sticks around. Try it!

Dirty silverware on the table. Dirty silverware on the empty table behind us when we reached over hoping to grab clean silverware. Ordered Iced Tea and a water — the water glass had food stuck to the outside. Yes, the breakfast is only 1.99, but the cook couldn’t figure out over medium. We both got eggs over easy even though we ordered over medium. The biscuits and gravy was only 1.99 for a half order, but tasted old, not fresh. Hash browns were fine. The toast is a cheap bread, so flavorless. Service was fast but not kind. Spend an extra dollar per breakfast and go to Jerry Bob’s — avoid this place.

My wife and I went there for breakfast on Halloween, we got seated right away but it went down hill from there. After we got our coffee we sat there waiting for our server to come back to take our order, when she came to take our order she sat down next to my wife which is not professional. She wrote the order on a separate piece of paper then she had to transfer it to a ticket and add it up etc. While she was doing that another customer came in sat at the next table his server took his order turned it in and he got his food before us, it took 20 minutes for us. I have been in food service for over 42 years unless this place ships up it won’t last!

So I took my family here on a recommendation from one of my best friends. We were greeted as we entered and seated immediately. The waitress was very nice and took our drink order right away. After placing our food order it was a short wait for our food. That’s where things went on a decline. Our orange juice was very warm, hashbrowns were severely burnt as well as our toast. Pancakes were a bit too dry and they didn’t bring any butter with them. The waitress forgot the kids fruit cups. Not to mention we sat there waiting for silverware and when she did finally bring some out, she only brought a fork for each of us. As i write this, thinking about our experience, i think the staff could have been more attentive and definitely more on top of things. All in all it wasn’t a terrible experience but i think my family and i will be sticking with our regular breakfast joints. Small price to pay for a lesson learned.

Good food doesn’t make up for a bad attitude. For a manager to call one customer a ‘fat b*tch’ and then follow her out to her car after she complained in a note about their mistreatment of waitstaff(the manager chewed the waitstaff out in public view of the customers) does NOT make me want to eat at Good Day Café; it’d give me a Bad Day. Word gets around…

The owner/cook here is highly unprofessional. Do NOT support this guy. The food and prices are good, but his inappropriate behavior was appalling. Calling customers names, following them to their cars to yell at them, reprimanding employees in front of customers… Just horrible!
