I just finished Ron’s class for the second time and it exceeded my expectations. The material was presented in a very organized manner and we had a wealth of information to take with us in the hefty binder. Not only was the class done well (and much improved over the first class), but the knowledge is like being given the keys to controlling your own future. Ron is a genius at this type of trading and he has now paired with another genius, Ivri, to make the knowledge truly accessible to people new to it. I look forward to being associated with Global Trading Institute for a long time since Ron shares his time and wisdom each week as you learn. I highly recommend this class and GTI!

I’ll start by clarifying I have 10 years of professional investment experience. However it has not involved options and this has been a personal interest of mine.
I’ve taken several investment courses over the years.
Some I have paid for, some were free. These other courses made me aware that there was a simpler way to sell options without day trading, but none of them gave any details unless I spent thousands more with them.
So I was specifically looking for an options course that taught what the other courses hinted.
I came across Ron and Global Trading at the start of 2014 and it was clear to me right away that he was teaching these options strategies.
The concepts are actually easier than the platform used for the trading.
It is definitely an Art and a Science.
It’s important to know that anything in the financial industry is NOT one size fits all.
And anything with investments involves risk which differs for each person.
Ron does an AMAZING job of addressing each persons specific situations and needs.
Specific guidelines for one person does not apply to everyone.
UNFORTUNATELY, some students don’t understand this and take too much time with unimportant, irrelevant questions that involve their own trading methods and not Ron’s.
After a year and a half and several of Ron’s courses, his claims have been ABSOLUTELY true and he has never been misleading. I’ve seen other misleading speakers in the industry and Ron is a rare teacher I’m lucky to have found… EVEN while witnessing some of his students make learning difficult for themselves and the rest of us.
If you’re going to join the course. Please be a student to what he teaches, and not try to teach your own methods.

I took Ron Harrison’s (the owner of GTI) options class early last year. It cost $ 799. Here is what Ron said to me either before signing up for the class or during the class:
1) You can earn 5% per month in your account, which is 60% annually.
2) The information he teaches in his class cannot be learned anywhere else. He actually told me this when I asked if there were any books I should read before I started the class.
3) He will send out all of his trades while you’re in the class so you can follow along.
After having taken his class, here are my responses to the above:
1) You will achieve this only if every trade you place is successful. This is not realistic, and if you are inexperienced, you could lose a lot more than you could make.
2) Having now taken his class and read some options books, everything I learned in his class I could have learned from a $ 30 options book.
3) He sent out a few of his trades at the beginning, but after a couple went bad, he stopped. He never sent out any of his adjustment trades for the bad trades. Repeated requests for the trades were ignored.
There are many things taught in the class that I would consider questionable. I will point out a few:
1) He taught to look at the cash value of your account to show returns. However, only the net liquidating value matters, and the net liq is what your broker cares about.
2) He taught to put on a small number of big trades. After a couple of Ron’s trades went bad, he suddenly created a rule that no position should be more than 5% of an account. Small positions is options 101 if you are an experienced retail options trader.
3) He only cursorily covered the greeks. In reality, the greeks are very important for containing your risk and increasing your chance of success.
4) He repeatedly talked about the probabilities of success for the trades he taught, which are 80−90%. However, he would not mention that it’s the other 10−20% that you will give all of your profits back and it could even wipe you out. When asked about this, he would shrug it off and change the topic.
Other things that happened while in the class:
1) I asked questions about the potential losses and risks of what he was teaching us. After that, he stopped returning my emails and phone calls.
2) Ron said he was a professional trader before starting to teach classes, but he wouldn’t say who he traded for.
3) Early on two of Ron’s trades went bad during earnings: a GOOG iron condor and a CMG iron condor. He said he had never seen moves like this happen before. Having now been trading for a year, I know that stocks making big moves during earnings is a regular occurrence.
4) In my class he only taught trades on individual stocks. When asked about trading on indexes/​ETFs, his response was to the effect of «why the heck would you do that?» I have heard that he is now trading on indexes and futures.
Based on my experience in Ron’s class, I would not recommend it.
