I’ve been coming here for haircuts for many years. I have never gotten my hair highlighted or painted but they seem to know what they’re doing. Ezquidio and his staff are professional and I always feel welcomed and comfortable.

I always have a wonderful experience here. Ezquidio is a true artist and his staff is always very welcoming and friendly. Whenever I go I usually have an idea of what I’m looking for but I’m pretty open minded do I’ll have him do whatever he thinks looks best, and let me tell you, I’ve never been unsatisfied. Whether it be with the all over color, an hombre, or highlights he is the best!!!

I had a wonderful first experience at Ezquidos Salon and will definitely be going back there. The prices are affordable and they did an excellent job with my hair. Mena is fantastic — this was my first time getting highlights and she picked a great color that suited me well and cut my hair to frame my face. Great experience, would highly recommend.

Debbie is an amazing stylist!!! I have a hard time trusting people with my hair because it usually ends up 1 – 2 inches shorter than I asked. This isn’t the case with Debbie. I’ve been going to her religiously every 6 weeks for a while now and I am never disappointed. She always knows exactly what to do to keep my hair looking fabulous and healthy. If you get your hair cut, having her style it is a must, you will not regret it. You may even decide to go out on the town because, seriously, you will feel like EVERYONE needs to see how good your hair looks. Debbie also does makeup and color.
I’ve always wanted to go to Ezquidios as it’s been a south side staple since high school and never got around to it until the past year. I’m so glad I did!

Were it not for Shae S., I would never have found this place. It’s located in an industrial/​warehouse mall, so it’s just about the last place I would have expected to find a hair salon. The exterior of the shop is about as exciting as the exterior of the USPS on Cherrybell. But step inside, and you’re instantly transported to a gorgeous, upscale salon. The staff at his salon are extremely welcoming — on my first visit, they made me feel as though I had been a customer there for years.
Truth be told: I am hardly a fashionista. I mostly wear my hair in a ponytail, and I sometimes go for months without a haircut. My personal «style» is a combination of student/​lab rat, sprinkled with hassled mom and topped off with a heavy dose of baby-​bag-​posing-​as-​purse. Stylists have a hard time suppressing their looks of utter dread and disdain when I enter, and I can only imagine that they must be wondering, «Where do I begin?» But not Ezquidio. He was professional from the get go. When I told him he had free reign to cut my hair however he wanted (as long as I could still pull it into a ponytail) he just smiled brightly and went to work. I’ve honestly never had a cut like his before; he used tools I’ve never seen and incorporated layering everywhere. When he was done, there was a huge pile of hair surrounding my chair. The length appeared just a few inches shorter, so I knew I would still be able to pull it into a ponytail. But then he added a bit of styling product and a blow drier and — wow, what a difference! My hair looked like movie star hair. Seriously. It’d never looked so good. Suddenly, I wished I had dressed better for my hair appointment. I was thrilled, but thought to myself, «I’ll never be able to replicate this at home,» but with a little effort (as in using a blow drier and a round brush) I’m able to pull it off on my own. The cut is that good. To top it off: he only charged $ 25.
Ezquidio has been in business for several years, and since he owns the store, I know that another one of my quandaries has been solved — reliability (past hair dressers I’ve gone to have an annoying habit of changing employers, never to be seen again). It’s nice to know that I won’t have to find a new hair dresser a few months from now. He is also an absolute delight.
Ezquidio is a true artist, on multiple levels. Interior design, flower arranging, make-​up and special effects… Ask him to show you photos of some of his past Halloween costumes. Amazing!

Like fine wine, some people continue to get even mo’ bettah, even mo’ fabu, over time. EZ E simply continues to outdo himself. My hair looks ah-​mahzing. I’ve even gained an obsessive hair fan at work. (I won’t go into the dir-​tay details, but suffice it say, he walks by my desk every day, simply purring about my do’ — even telling me that my tresses feel like ‘cotton candy.’) My mom likes my hair — she NEVER likes my hair.
After I left the salon today, I stopped by an office supply store and the checkout clerk was asking me about my hair. For realz — I’ve told more people about Ezquido than I can count… His salon is so slammin’ with biz, I don’t know how he keeps up. Head in on a Saturday, and you’ll see it all, bridal parties, families, lap dogs. Today I witnessed a little boy transition from a no-​hawk to a mo-​hawk! He was pumped.
EZ E intuitively knows what style you need and he gets to work. I’ve seen him perform magic on both short and long hair. He’s a master colorist, from highlights to all-​over coverage, from blonde to blue… this dude can work with hues. I always look forward to seeing him, he makes each one of his clients feel special, and look their best. His prices are great — $ 25 for today’s cut. His staff are wonderful too, from the front desk to the other stylists, the vibe here is friendly and fierce. Go EZ!

Thank you Shae! Your review had me hook, line and sinker! I tried to get in to see Ezquidio, back in May, but he was book for two weeks solid. In the meantime, I totally forgot the name of the salon. BUT, I Unilocal searched «hair whisperer» and it came right up! This time, I planned in advance and made sure to make an appointment way ahead of time. Apparently, when you are a hair whisperer, you are in high demand. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I did a asymmetrical spikey bob, which I have been having so much fun doing. I am also now a fiery redhead. He took the time to look at my Pinterest photos and make suggestions. I can’t wait to see what he will do next! I think I walked out paying $ 65 for cut, color and waxing!
Ezquidio was so friendly! He even ran after me with a mirror on my way to my car, because he wanted me to see they way the sun played in my hair. And this was after closing time.
Side note, I really liked the music they were playing. They had a nice selection of products, and no push on the sales either.

Ezquidio is the hair master! This guy knows style because he loves what he does and is aware of today’s trends and fads.
Sometimes I have to settle for Supercuts and Cost Cutters but when I come here, I know I’m going to get what I want and more for only 15 bucks.
If you want to get your cut by him personally, make sure you call for an appointment.
I’ll be back for sure!

The service is top of the line, and it has a great atmosphere. I was VERY surprised when I walked in a few years ago when meeting my grandma there (she had just gotten her hair done, she’s been going for years). I was impressed, but never though to go there myself, it looked like it’d be expensive, one day I decided to try it out since I was in the area, I walked in with no appointment (I was never used to making appointment’s for haircuts) and they took me in quickly for a haircut, I went a few more times, and found a hairstylist that I have been hooked on, Debbie.
The prices are extremely reasonable.
I pay 15 bucks plus a tip.
