Continental Ranch Self Storage

We rented the storage for 5 months, the service is very good for its price. Cube access is easy and staffs are nice. The only thing that could be improved is the online automatic payment which doesn’t work well and I have to make a phone call every month to pay the fee.

I’m totally torn about this place. We stored our entire house here while we were in between rental homes. They loan out their truck free (you pay gas and I think there was a charge for anything over 50 miles) which is super awesome. Their grounds appear clean and well kept. The staff seemed nice enough. They sell all the supplies you’d need for moving, and even drinks for when you deplete your water supply moving on a hot day.
Fast forward two months though, and while we were moving our things out, we found not only a beetle infestation in our unit, but that mice had gotten to our couches and left droppings all over them. We had one covered in plastic thankfully, so the worst of it was on the bottom of the couch we had flipped over… but still. It is advertised as being pest free, and we definitely did not find that to be the case. We have used storage units before in the past over the years and never had this problem. Heck, our GARAGE has always been a safe place to store things — but we are nutty about spraying for bugs. This is Arizona, after all. Our belongings were only in the unit two months. Hate to wonder would have happened if we had things in there any longer. A good portion of our stuff was stored in plastic containers too, which helped a little I’m sure.
To add insult to injury an employee asked Husband to sweep all the bugs and mouse droppings out. Not cool.
We ended up having to get our couches professionally cleaned at our own expense, which is obviously money we didn’t want to have to spend.
So I don’t know. I’m not sure if people are storing food and attracting pests, or if they need to up their spraying regimen or what. There are a lot of things in the plus column here, but not being able to trust your things will be safe from pests is kind of a big negative. So I should I need storage again I may come back, but I’d have to go way overboard covering all my furniture.

The staff is very nice here! I did have an issue with the pack rats though. There was rat feces in the unit when I moved out, and I found two dead pack rats underneath stuff! When I informed him of the problem I was told I was going to find this in any storage facility anywhere in town. But to their credit they had put out rat poison containers down the hallway. Otherwise I had no problem there.

We rented from these nice folks for a month or two last year and they were super outgoing and they have great prices. Would rent again!

Dave and Linda helped me rent a truck so I could move my stuff into a large locker. They sold me boxes and found me a locker next to the driveway, so it was an easy move.
