My husband and I used College Nannies and Tutors from August 2014 through May 2015. When we first signed up it was owned by Charles, and during that time it was sold to Stacey. We had absolutely no problems with College Nannies and Tutors while it was owned by Charles. He was completely professional. Once it changed ownership, it was a different story. Stacey called us in May and let it slip that our Nanny was leaving to pursue a full time job. Our Nanny had asked her to wait so she could let us know personally, but clearly she wasn’t interested it obliging. On that same phone call, she immediately got to her point — she didn’t know how we had secured such a low rate with Charles($ 15/hr), but that the new rate going forward would be $ 20 hr. Imagine, I’m just trying to digest the fact that we’ve lost our nanny, and now the owner of the agency wants to increase our new rate 30%. She also complained that $ 15 does not allow for her to make any money. I was stunned that she actually said that because I knew that they were only paying our nanny $ 9 an hour. Wow. I thought. She has a lot of nerve. I told her we would not be paying $ 20 a hour, especially to her, given how she handled the situation. In addition to the fiasco above, I received a $ 500 bill two months later for charges SIX months prior. I called her an asked for an explanation and she said we forgot to bill you. Seriously? My advice is to find another agency. Or, even better, find a nanny that you can pay directly — this way at least the person doing the work is actually getting paid. Run, don’t walk, from College Nannies and Tutors.

Tutor was good but appointments are scheduled at the same time each week so it does not allow for any flexibility. This did not work well for our crazy life.
