5 Star Termite & Pest Control Inc

This seemed like a very promising and permanent job, as everyone who works here is very close and has been working for the company for a few to many years. However, I was asked in for three interviews and was mailed a decline letter with a check for one hour of work. This was confusing. The next day I was asked to come in again and was giving the job as a receptionist. On a daily basis (15 days of employment) I was praised and assured I was doing well on my training. On my last day I was sent home very early and left with a wave and a goodbye from everyone on a Wednesday. Sunday morning I received a call from the owner telling me I «didn’t work out». This was a shock to me, and I was wondering why I wasn’t told this sooner, as there was a 4 day weekend due to holiday. But I came in Monday morning to pick up my check, that was already up front so I wouldn’t have to speak to anyone. The date was for 12÷30÷15. This tells me they knew I was not a good fit 4 days ago. But allowed me to think I was still employed. It would have been professional and polite to let me know so I could of had those 4 days to search for another place of employment. My main complaint is that I felt lied to, being praised for my job well done, never being criticized or coached. I hope the next receptionist they hire is still continuing to look for work even after being hired.

Most of the time I do my own pest control, but occasionally I’ve needed some extra help. I’ve used 5 Star several times with good results. They saved me from a cricket infestation once. I slept much better after that ;-)

This is a well run company with great service and a better than average product. I am pleased with their work and will continue to recommend them to my clients.

Um, nice try 5 Star but no. I am a private individual and customer who just received horribly bad service. I dont usually write reviews, but my experience was so awful that I want to warn others so they don’t fall for the service the same way that I did. Seriously, if I was really a competitor, why would I just single out this one company and not others? As another reviewer said, BUYER BEWARE!!!

I have lived in Tucson for 19 years and been in the same house for 18. I had dodged using a termite service until this year, but the wet year we had combined with the age of the house brought about evidence of termites.
5 Star was great from the initial call. I actually requested an inspection during the weekend on their web site and received a call on Monday morning to set up a time.
The inspector was thourough and very good at explaining what she was looking for and what she was finding. I really like their business model and their approach to protecting from termites (check out their web site.) We scheduled a treatment.
The crew that came out to do the treatment showed up exactly at the scheduled time (unusual if you think in terms of cable or phone installers) They did their treament and were cleaned up and gone very quickly (after a walk around inspection.)
