This was a great place when it was open. Unfortunately, the Stage Door went out of business on December 31, 2009( ). Thanks, Bryon, for a great run!

Um… if you need a deck built or your car fixed, hang out here. Lots of flannel and tool belts. Super smoky(but what Atlanta bar isn’t?) with the feel of an old, converted Sizzler building. The backroom area requires a cover to enjoy the live music, dancing, shows, etc. Sorry, Stage Door, you are unfortunately not for me. (Scurries back to Midtown.)

The Stage Door stands out as one of unincorporated DeKalb County’s only gay bars. A short jaunt outside I-285, the Stage Door offers strong drinks, pool, friendly staff, gregarious patrons, video games, a jukebox, drag queens, dancing– everything a good bar should have. The Stage Door also offers a nice mix of gays and lesbians– something other Atlanta-area bars are missing. It’s a little bit of a drive from Midtown, but definitely worth the excursion.
