Good to Go!

Love the Mexican rice and bean quesadillas and breakfast burritos! Soups of the day are always great too. Happy to have a quick place to get a healthy meal in Trumansburg.

Due to questionable food prep practices I observed, I am sad to say that I cannot purchase made-​to-​order food here again. The person who took my order, after running the register and touching money, then wiped his hands on his dirty apron, touched my food, wiped some more, took some more money, wiped again, touched my food again (there was no hand washing at any point). It’s possible the food was tasty and it’s possible that I would have suffered no ill effects, but I chose not to risk it. By the way: the (packaged) food in the grocery is fine, and they have some products I have not seen at other healthy food stores.

While attending the GrassRoots Festival at the nearby fair grounds, I decided to walk into Trumansburg on a hot afternoon. I was immediately lured into Good to Go by a sign outside listing their soup of the day: cold cucumber. It sounded (and was) delicious – cold, slightly creamy, and full of dill. Yum!
There were so many VEGETARIAN options available on the menu and in the deli case that I could hardly make up my mind! I settled a seitan panini that was absolutely delicious. Diners nearby were raving about the vegetarian meatballs, raw kale salad, and a nice beet salad. Gluten-​free baked good also seemed to be flying off the shelves.
I definitely wish I lived less than 2.5 hours away – if I did, I’d be in here all the time. Instead, I’ll have to make due with stopping in a couple times a year! (It’s only been a few days and I’m already pining for that sandwich, though. .. so I may have to start getting to Trumansburg more often!)

We had lunch here yesterday after a nice hike in Taughannock, and it was great. The soup was really tasty, the burrito was pretty nice, and the nice sunny seating up front was awesome. Also got the chocolate croissant which was great! Perfect lunch option here, which also was very reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be back.
