Truckee Mountain Vacation Rentals

I’m an owner and I couldn’t be happier from the service I’ve received from TMVR & Rich & Julie. I’ve been with them for 15 plus years.
Rich is very professional & he does what he says he will do. I don’t understand own another person having a problem but sometimes things happen!
I would recommend TMVR to my friends and I have done so.

WARNING! DO NOT USE TRUCKEE MOUNTAIN VACATION RENTALS! They kept changing and backing out on rates and terms quoted both in written emails and as advertised on the TMVR website. TMVR posted a house on their website as a month-​to-​month rental at $ 2,400/month including utilities and we were verbally quoted a long term lease at $ 2,000/month plus utilities. We were also told the owner would consider removing their furniture and cleaning up the backyard. After we said we would take the long term lease at $ 2,000/month they upped the monthly rent to $ 2,350/month plus utilities and the owner said they would neither clean the backyard or remove their furniture. They said they would still offer the house on a summer lease month-​to-​month basis at $ 2,400/month including utilities and then a long term ski lease at $ 2,350 plus utilities. When we said we would take the month-​to-​month summer rental and then a long term ski lease at the quoted rates and terms they changed the terms yet again and backed out telling us the house is no longer available on a month-​to-​month basis over the summer (as advertised on their website and quoted in written emails). Both Rich and Julie at TMVR, as well as the owner they represented, are UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL. YOU ARE FOREWARNED! DO NOT USE TRUCKEE MOUNTAIN VACATION RENTALS!!!

My group has been using Rich Lewis at Truckee Mountain Vacation Rentals for several years now and we wouldn’t consider using anyone else. We locked ourselves out of our ski lease at 2 o’clock in the morning and even though we got him out of bed, he came out, got another key from his office and unlocked the door for us. Even though it was our fault, Rich was right there to help. We have leased the same house for the last few years, and it’s always clean and ready to go. Super easy check in process, even after hours and the instructions for turning on/​off utilties is very clear.

I met with almost all of the management companies that serve Tahoe Donner/​Truckee to look for a ski lease for the 2012 season. Truckee Mountain Vacations is the most responsive and friendly out of all. Many of the other management companies either didn’t respond to inquiries or made me feel like they were doing me a huge favor by showing me a house.
Rich eagerly showed me 6 properties that matched my criteria. After not finding what we wanted exactly, Rich recommended a couple other properties and went back to the office to get additional keys. Even though it was a Saturday and not an official work day, Rich was very accommodating and helpful.
If I had a house to list for property management, Truckee Mountain Vacations would be my choice. They truly want to rent your property and are available to service it when needed.
