Discovered this place by accident one Saturday. Good drink selection for a good price. Has a nice comfortable atmosphere where you can put your feet up and relax.

The only reason why I stopped in yesterday is because the other person in the outing went there when it was Burke’s. That was… a decade ago? Anyways, the place is nice. I’m guessing it’s the same crowd that used to go there. Is it bad that I was surprised they had Goose Island on tap? If you want to beat the heat and don’t mind a limited beer selection, have a drink there. Wasn’t crowded, but careful if you sit at the bar — the vents are on the floor along there. And the AC was blasting.

This place will get 5 stars before the year is over, that I do not doubt. I’m holding back because it’s lacking one thing that I think it needs. A drink menu. I am not much of a liquor drinker, but I am always suckered in by cute names and speciality drinks. ESPECIALLY at classy places, or at establishments that know what they are doing. Troy has enough bars for me to go and drink good beer, I don’t need another beer bar. I however wouldn’t mind another cocktail bar. When you walk in and see the beautiful backlit bar you would imagine that they have a few speciality cocktails and apprently soon they will but right now they are promoting their draft beers. They do have a decent beer selection. I had goose island IPA, and they had about 6 other taps that are around on bar with that selection. I have a lot of things that I absolutely love about this bar. The first being the feel of the bar. you walk in, or even walk by it and you can tell it’s a classy place. It’s the kind of place a girl wants to get taken on a date too. It’s got perfect lighting and some window seats that are more intimate. It’s got beautiful jazz music playing and they have plans to get some local acts come play there as well. They have a little dance floor at the end so you can«cut a rug». I also love the concept of this bar. It’s own by a father-daughter team who are beyond friendly, helpful and work incredible together. Vivian the bar’s namesake and the wife/mother lost her battle to cancer a year before this bar opened. It’s a soft spot in my heart as I lost my mom to cancer, and I wont lie I’m a little bummed my dad and I didn’t open a bar in her honor. They have created a beautiful establishment and I’m excited to see it progress. They let us know that they planned on having a drink menu and even some small dishes to order too.(I hope they make at least one of the dishes vegan!) Go, take someone on a date, or just stop in because you want a quiet relaxing bar to drink at, you wont regret it.
