Troy Lunch is the epitome of the classic American diner located in the small Downtown Troy. The layout of this long deep space consists of a long lunch counter with stools and a long row of 8 hard red booths along the opposite wall. This diner is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu offerings here are standard diner fare. For breakfast, they serve up eggs, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, homefries, cereal, sausage gravy on biscuits, and more. Maple syrup served here. For lunch/dinner, sandwiches(hot & cold), burgers, hot dogs, fried foods, salads, soups, comfort dishes, and dessert(ice cream treats, cookies, cake). The prices here are reasonable, items priced under $ 8. Bottled PA maple syrup from Roloson Brothers is sold here too. I stopped at Troy Lunch recently for dinner. I was going to order hot dogs, but I figured the hot dogs here were not the mini hot dogs with meat sauce, onions, & mustard served in the other much bigger City of Troy(NY), chuckle… I ordered the Hot Meatloaf Sandwich($ 6.95) served with mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was served very hot in about 10 minutes. The portion size of food was pretty good. The meatloaf sandwich consisted of a thick piece of meatloaf in between two slices of white bread smothered in beef gravy. The meatloaf was filling to eat, but the consistency and texture of the meatloaf was very dry and crumbly. The gravy was on the salty side for flavor. The big side of mashed potatoes smothered in beef gravy were very soft and dense. That was enough food for dinner, so no dessert for me. The service here was adequate, though the staff disappeared to the back kitchen and left me alone to eat my food in peace. CASHONLY
