The food is fine, but the drive-thru is slow. Part of the essence of a good McDonald’s is to have fast service, and a slow drive-thru is a real drawback. Like most of the stores in Troy, the exterior lighting is dingy. Investing in good lighting would help this location pop out among its dingy-lighted competitors. Also, we rarely dine-in here, but when we have, it has been pleasant, and the service has been friendly.

S-L-O-W That pretty much sums up my experience. All I ordered was an Egg McMuffin — did they need to wait for a chicken to lay then dang egg to make my sandwich? Mediocre would work well also but that’s a lot of dashes to type.

So, this is not the type of restaurant I would normally review, but I found it to be an exceptional dining experience(for Troy – remember, dining out is relative!) and therefore worth the write up. Every once in a while work brings me to Troy for at least part of the day. It’s one of those situations where I don’t have access to a kitchen or a fridge, so I’m essentially forced to eat out. There are a lot of places to eat on Highway 47(i.e the main drag in town), but they’re all fast food. Where can a girl get a halfway decent non-artery clogging lunch in this town? Enter this McDonald’s. It’s the cleanest, friendliest, most efficient McDonald’s I’ve ever visited. Instead of the the usual surly teenagers behind the counter, the employees here are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and modern looking. I always order the same thing – a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The grilled chicken breast is always hot and juicy, fresh off the grill. The salad itself is fresh and not just iceberg, but lots of darker greens like romaine and spinach. Unlike some other fast food salads, the salad at this location is not wet, old or slimy. There’s also really fresh carrots and tomatoes, too. All things considered, this is as good a salad as you would get in a nicer sit down restaurant. And at about $ 5, this is the probably the tastiest, cheapest, healthiest lunch you’re going to get in Troy.
