Unilocaled this place before we drove 30 mins to get there for a nice lunch. Unilocal said it was open and hours were from Noon today! Drove 30 mins and got here at 1:30PM and there was a sign on the door that they are closed! Not happy! What the hell are we Unilocaling for if the information is wrong!!!

Terrible. A seafood grille with two fish options? Slow bar service that follows with a terrible cosmo and over carbonated beer. Dinner took forever. My husbands lobster from the surf and turf looked like it had been on fire. Go to Bonefish instead.

Good option for informal business lunch. Quiet but not stuffy with prompt service. Soups haven’t disappointed nor have the fish selections. Fish tacos, lake perch, and Baltimore Crabmelt are some of my favorites.

Well. food amazing! Service something else. Jason was snarky, rude n we waited an hour before he took our dinner order. When we asked for bread he blamed us for not getting it because we sent a drink back that wa made incorrectly. He even bad mouthed the sister store in Rochester. Basically acted like we weren’t worth waiting on. Won’t go back to the troy location, servers who have better things to do then give good customer service should find a more fitting vocation. Would not be writing this review if the manager in this establishment touched tables like every good restaurants knows to do. Sorry sorry situation.

I have previously eaten at the Rochester location and was quite impressed; however, I cannot say the same for this location. Staff was a very unorganized upon entry with a huge puddle of water in the floor that simply had a sign over it as opposed to being mopped up. The manager suggested a bus boy mop only after a woman almost fell. The food was okay. I was slightly put off when the waitress asked my boyfriend to cut his filet to ensure it was cooked to his likeness. I thought we were going to an upscale restaurant with trained chefs. The bread was great though when the waitress removed the bag it comes in, she did not fold it, causing poppy seeds to fall in my food and drink. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Fail, fail, fail. Oh where’s my bow tie wearing Bill Kruse and his awesome wife when you need them?! Obviously I know what I’m talking about, the Main Street location is 5 stars(minus it’s small size/wait times and space cadet hostess(but hey, they’re teens) and I miss Big Fish Too! anyways back to this nightmare, first off went for lunch and sat at the bar, the temp in the bar was set on tropical. I thought my newly injected Botox was going to melt out of my crow’s feet. Then no bread ever came. That’s my favorite! Our food was unseasoned and poorly presented. I bragged about this place for two years to my girlfriend, then I take her here and get this crap. I know for a fact that if Bill or his wife were there that day, none of this would happen. House cleaning is needed(as in new staff), your management barely apologized and comped nothing that was substandard. Complete fail, I expect higher standards from this great brand.

My first visit — lunch. The best thing about my visit was … Amanda; my server. She was prompt, attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. The tomato soup/bisque(?) was excellent. I ordered the 1⁄3rd pound burger w/fries, cooked medium rare. I don’t believe that it ever weighed 1⁄3rd pound. It was delivered well done. Not a hint of pink. Good bun. Fries … were a salt lick. Noise level was low. Thank you. WiFi is unsecured and not trustworthy for anything that requires a login. CCW friendly.

Seafood dinner with the family. Surprised this place wasn’t busier. Upscale atmosphere. The waitstaff spoke and behaved formally but could have been more attentive. We all had mushroom soup which was terrific! The kids loved the bread. Kids got shrimp and wife and I both got salmon. The food was very good.

This restaurant is less visible from the street but well worth the trek for those interested in seafood. On a recent lunch(after a quick trip to Somerset), I enjoyed a quick meal that started with their piping hot poppy-seed bread and calamari. The latter was flash fried and served with a lemon butter sauce with briny capers. The thick and large strips of calamari were well prepared with only the barest hint of coating. Next up was an admitted indulgence, an angel hair pasta with sweet corn kernels, asparagus, mushrooms, and oh so delicious seafood. Crunchy shrimp, large sweet scallops, and lobster claw meat made up the seafood medley, all served in a creamy, cheesy sauce. And for the ultimate finish, a luscious chocolate mousse with a healthy piping of whipped cream and marbled chocolate bark. The portions are quite large at this restaurant so be ready to enjoy leftovers, even the dessert. Service was prompt and friendly throughout the visit.

I begrudgingly will give Kruse & Muer four out of five stars this time around. The food is always delicious here. This was my second, technically third time, at this location; I’ve been to the Rochester Hills(Village) location as well. I first went a few years ago(see my previous review) and the service was a bit off the mark. My second time here was this past Sunday, when I had been assured over the phone that they were serving Troy Restaurant Week lunch; I got there and they were not(they had their brunch menu instead, not TRW) so we left and went to a different restaurant. I was lucky enough to win a TRW gift card this week, for(ironically) Kruse & Muer, so my parents and I headed there today to try it out. Waitservice was excellent, if a bit slow, but I think that’s the point(to enjoy your meal). My mom and I ordered the TRW menus and my dad ordered off the regular lunch menu — clam chowder and crab cakes.(he’s the seafood fan in the family, my mom and I are not.) I got the Wilshire salad(house salad of sorts — walnuts, blue cheese, apple-pear vinaigrette, I believe, and apples), the summer ravioli, and the strawberry shortcake; everything was excellent. My mom ordered the gazpacho, the ravioli, and the shortcake, upon suggestion from the waiter(the chocolate mousse, the other dessert choice, is always available on the menu, and the shortcake is not). And don’t forget the bread … there’s a reason that you can order the bread for $ 3.07 for takeout(what a random amount!). Props to K&M this time for great food and service. I can’t say how often I’ll be back to this location since it’s the Seafood Grille and I’m not a seafood person, but I’d certainly be willing to try it again sometime.

I had a filet that was easily an 8⁄10. The high point for me was the bread, however. Even during the meal I kept tearing off pieces of bread to eat. I’d go back just for that. We went on a particularly busy evening and it was a long time in between seeing our waiter. That’s my only real knock on this place because I tend to go through a lot of refills.

Made reservation for my husband’s birthday and we went last night. The days prior, he had been reviewing the online menu for Troy K&M. He knew exactly what he was going to order, was very excited to go, and I was excited because it was for his birthday and I thought he would enjoy it because he loves good seafood and steaks. The bread was good but we didn’t feel it lived up to the hype. Poppyseed are good, but most end up on the table. Immediately upon reviewing the menu, he didn’t see the puff pastry escargot he had in mind from the website. When we asked, we were told the item is seasonal and they don’t have it. We order an appetizer of gazpacho and stuffed mushrooms. Gazpacho was fine but nothing extraordinary, the mushrooms were bland and very mushy inside. Dinner order for husband was lobster tail with filet medium rare. He wanted a topper that was shown on the website of Alaskan king crab and Bernaise, the closest thing on the printed menu was Oscar Style(shrimp and Maryland crab). The server said they didn’t offer the kind he wanted(which was on their website) and she could talk to the kitchen since it shouldn’t be hard to just remove the shrimp and Maryland crab and substitute Alaskan crab. I ordered fish and chips. Dinner arrived and we see no adjustment in topper was made, it was Oscar style. Husband eats some of the lobster tail and cuts into his filet, which was medium well. He described the texture as almost like a thick cut of beef jerky with a little more moisture than jerky. The first bite ended up in his napkin. Fish and chips were just OK. I wouldn’t order again. When the server came by and we talked about the steak topper, she apologized but said she thought he had agreed to the Oscar Style and I reminded her that she was going to talk to the kitchen. He sent his plate back and she did offer if there was something else he wanted but by then he didn’t have a taste for their filet to have one remade. To their credit, the manager took off his meal and appetizer, plus an extra 10%. No mention of his birthday. If anything, I would think the website(used by people for carry outs) would be more updated than printed copies. The manager said he would notify corporate of the discrepancies, but it is very unprofessional to have contradictory information between menu/website. And since when is escargot seasonal? We had the overwhelming feeling this place is trying hard to appear to be more than it really is. Will not return.

I went here for a conference through work, and overall, the set-up was pretty decent. The biggest issue was the lack of organization for the event itself. The restaurant pushed our event into a too small of an area to accommodate a party of our size. Other than the issue of the seating, and a rather huge abundance of background noise, the wait staff and the food were great. Although my meal was a pre-planned set of courses, each dish arrived timely and around the same time as the other guests in our conference group. The wait staff was relatively attentive, however, were a bit lacking with their attention to detail as far as refilling drinks were concerned. My shrimp was cooked perfectly, as was my steak. The side dishes of potatoes and vegetables were average, but yet still well prepared and filling. I would be curious to try this restaurant when I am not there for a business-related conference to see if their overall atmosphere and the compliance of the staff is improved. Overall, good food, and a nice location, but some attention to details is to needed for an overall better experience.

The BF and I figured our 2.5 year anniversary was good enough as any reason to celebrate, and we had this gift card burning a hole in our pocket, so let’s dig in! It’s a pretty restaurant. I did smell a little fish, considering people were eating oysters and the like but some of the other reviewers were pretty nasty and harsh. That’s not how Reggie plays. There was a hostess who then gave menus to another guy who seated us and let us know yet another guy would be our waiter. Our waiter’s name was Kyle. We were sat at a dinky little booth right by the bar. We were fine with that. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. I was actually surprised at the prices. I thought they would be much higher. I went with the parmesan crusted flounder and BF went with the seafood pan roast. Both came with rice«pilaf»(and I use that term very loosely). We got our little loaf of baked pizza dough with poppy seeds and some butter. It was fine. I was pretty excited about my fish since Big Fish(RIP) used to do a parm crusted sole I used to die over! Was really hoping for something very similar. Honestly, I was not disappointed in my fish at all. It was pretty and crunchy and cooked just right, not dry. I thought the fish was excellent. That rice tho… OMFG!!! PLEASEGETRIDOFTHATBULLSHIT. A blob of unseasoned rice with some stewed tomatoes on it… I would never let them put that on my plate again. What an afterthought. BF’s meal came with that bullshit rice too. His meal he wasn’t real impressed with. The shrimp were overcooked to a fault, but the lobster needed about 2 more minutes. It didn’t feel hot enough to me with the sauce, and for me all I could taste was saffron, which I don’t like and I know that’s on me. Meanwhile, on my plate, I was scraping for more lemon caper beurr blanc sauce. One more ladle would have been perfect. During the end of our meal, the waitress at the booth next to us was doing a hard sell on their frequent diners club deal, and leaned against one of the ice coolers to sell this, blocking the whole aisle and making sure to talk very loudly so A. Customers could hear what she was trying to sell and ask about it, and B. Making sure her boss could hear that she was selling. I found this quite annoying. It didn’t belong in the quiet setting this place is supposed to represent. Kyle was a very good waiter, and it was his first night so I tipped him a lil’ extra… I would go back though for sure. They have a good selection of steaks and chicken as well and I would like to give one of the steaks a try. Just no more rice, ever.

I loved the food at the Auburn hills location so I decided to take my boyfriend out for dinner. Not much to say as the 18-ish year old front desk girl ordered us to wait a couple minutes so she can finish texting and gossip. We waited out of curiosity and then had been treated with such awful attitude that we left. I thought i was going to an upscale restaurant… It was so scandalous that we actually found it amusing! :) Went to the melting pot next door and had a great night

Over 20 years ago, restaurant icon Chuck Muer and his wife mysteriously vanished in a storm while sailing on their boat in the Bermuda Triangle. Not a singular trace of their disappearance was found and to this day, it’s still an unsolved mystery. When I was growing up, the name Muer was synonymous with outstanding dining whether it was Charley’s Crab or Big Fish Too. It’s good to know that after all this time, the Muer legacy is still going strong and providing great food in Metro Detroit. I recommend their flash fried Calamari appetizer to start with. It has an outstanding, light but flavor filled texture and divine garlic dipping sauce. This combined with their incredible bread and butter will have you smiling while you wait for your entrée. I shy away from seafood at most places but Kruse and Muer has recipes that have made me reconsider. With that said, I usually punk out and order the blackened chicken medallions minus the garlic mayo. It comes with fries and is one of my favorite dishes in the city. This isn’t a restaurant on the tips of many peoples tongues although it should be. The location is tucked in an office complex at Crooks and Big Beaver that doesn’t have the best visibility when driving by. It also looks more expensive than it really is. In reality, the prices aren’t that much more your average chain restaurant especially if you go for lunch. The difference is in the quality, fresh ingredients they use. The staff is very well trained and highly professional. Dining here just makes you feel better about life and will give you second thoughts about eating at lesser restaurants in the future.

This place has good food, but the prices are a little high for the ambiance & service. Most dinners are $ 15 – 25, which for the Big Beaver area is fairly inexpensive. The portions are enough for a satisfying meal. The service we had tonight was so/so. We waited to order & receive our check and drink refills had to be requested vs offered. Their beer prices were $ 5/$ 6, which I found very reasonable. The free bread was quite nice as well. I had the Seafood Panroast, which was a seafood mix of small scallops, crab & lobster in a saffron cream sauce over rice. It was rich & tasty! I also had a cup of Charley’s Clam Chowder which was had a nice balance of seafood & veggies. All of our table’s meals looked good and no one had any issues with their food. Still I give it 3 stars as nothing«wowed» me or was exceptionally over the top good.
