I Love Pizza of Troy

Ordered delivery. Medium cheese pizza and 10 BBQ boneless wings. Was surprised at the size of a medium. The same size as a large back home.
The pizza was pretty good nothing to write home about. The wings on the other hand were coated in a thick BBQ sauce that was kind of hard to eat.
This place only excepts cash, learned that the hard way. All in all it’s definitely worth an order after a day out.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick bite. We order 2 slices of ready made pizza. All I can say is it will get you fed, but it wasn’t very good. My piece didn’t have much flavor and was very chewy like it had been sitting there awhile. Staff was friendly enough, but that won’t get me to come back for another piece of pizza. I will go some place else next time.

I LOVE I Love’s. Any time I go to Troy, no matter what part of Troy, I take a detour to 4^th St so I can grab a slice or two. My go to is a chicken parm slice and a plain slice. Portions here are huge. The crust is delicious, with just the right amount of cheese and sauce (and toppings if that’s what you’re getting). I find the prices very reasonable. The staff… they do their jobs. I’ve always found them to be no-​nonsense. Ask what you want, collect your money, give you what you asked for. No chitchat. I like that, personally. Writing this makes me look forward to my next trip to Troy.

Pizza is slamming and not many places I can get pizza and enjoy it. Atmosphere is always cool and not too bad for a late night coming from the bar. Great place and I recommend coming multiple times.

Ordered for carry-​out and was very pleased with the food. An 8 cut (medium) and a dozen wings with a 2 liter of soda came to $ 26 even. It’s nice that their wings still come by the dozen and not in 10’s as so many other places are doing these days (looking at you, Ruck).
I ordered the wings crispy and they were cooked all the way through with some crunch. I would have preferred them a little spicier, but I am a hot sauce freak so I can’t really blame them. They were also decent sized, not gigantic but definitely worth the price. The pizza had plenty of toppings but was a touch shy on cheese. If I’m nitpicking, it maybe could have used an extra minute in the oven, but it was still excellent.
Very fast service — pizza was ready in fifteen minutes and they had me in and out of the store in about two. Remember, CASH ONLY.

«I Love This Pizza of Troy»

For a long time-​running, I Love Pizza of Troy is the best New York City style slice shop in the area, and perhaps the best pizza in Troy.
A regular cheese slice right out of the oven, is a little slice of NYC indeed.
And the pan/​deep dish pepperoni in particular is an after-​bar feast for the ages.
All of the specialty slices I have had over the years have been great; however, make sure you get whatever slice is fresh — I am not fan of this pizza thrown back in the oven to reheat.
Although not as rough as in years past, this corner can get pretty dicey late at night when all the drunks spill out from the neighboring bars, and there are always some interesting street characters lurking around, so like most take-​out pizza shops in the NYC, it is wise to eat quickly and not linger.
But then again, the grungy atmosphere only give a more authentic New York City experience in the heart of a rejuvenating but still downtrodden section of downtown Troy.

A slice of buffalo chicken, my fave, and a slice mushroom chicken are usually what I get, $ 6.50 with free fountain drink (missing root beer last time). My husband doesn’t like how greasy the pizzas are, soaking through the paper plates and brown bag. I wish they’d offer a better veggie option, like the eggplant parm pizza I had once next door.

As an RPI Alum, I would pick this as my favorite pizza place in the area. I always go for the Chicken Marsala. Definitely plan on stopping by to get a slice any time im in the area.

I ordered a pizza from I Love. Their pizza’s are good. But if you’re ordering a delivery pizza, the company should tell you if they don’t take credit cards or debit cards.
The fact of the matter is, people typically don’t order a delivery pizza until they’re hungry. By the time it gets there, they’re very ready to eat. When a hot pizza arrives and they’re told they can’t have eat or pay for the food they delivered, thats a bad customer experience. Ya gotta remember. Delivery is all about making a better experience.
I tipped the driver with the couple bucks in my pocket but was unable to pay for the pizza. I can’t understand why they wouldn’t be inclined to take a credit card. What a strange state of affairs.
I ordered dinner with a drink and am left hungry and thirsty. What other rating can I offer other than 1 star?

I had been ordering pizza from the i love ny location on Hoosick St, but stopped because the quality has become appallingly bad. I didn’t think the 4^th St location would deliver to where i live. Oh, happy day! Really the best pizza that i’m aware of outside of NYC. I ordered one of their online specials: An 8 cut, 12 wings, & a two liter soda. I added bacon and onions as toppings. Good tasting sauce, an ample amount of cheese & toppings. I have ordered this exact same thing from that other location. Weird how different they are. Their’s tasted like tomato paste, bacon bits (which are so full of preservatives, and burn on top of the pizza. yuk!), and skimpy on all counts. Their wings are terribly overcooked.
Back to 4^th St: wings were perfectly cooked. Pizza, delicious.
So why not 5 stars? I ordered before the driver got to work, which was kindly explained. I’m not sure if he was late getting there, and they perhaps made my pizza too early, but it was cold by the time i got it. Also, my address is a little difficult to find, which i explained. The girl on the phone said the driver would call for directions; he did not. So, of course he went to the wrong place. (Not far away).
One other small issue: i asked for extra blue cheese, which is indicated on my receipt, but was not in the bag. But i will DEFINITELY order from them again.

I can’t believe they don’t take cards what kind of business is that.

Best of the area. Slices are always fresh. They don’t leave them under the heat lamp for hours at a time. Service is always prompt. Deals are still great. Don’t accept the imposters.

Quick, cheap and delicious pizza by the slice with late hours for night-​owls. The restaurant itself isn’t much to look at but for take-​out, it’s hard to beat.

The Original (and only real) «I Love»
This place is awesome. I am a former RPI student and I would frequent this place for lunch.
Now I frequent this place late nights after getting out of the bars, which is probably most of their business. They always have a large selection of delicious, fresh pies. If you’re from Troy or the surrounding area you know this place, you’ve eaten at this place, and you love this place. There is no other way to feel about it truly great pizza at a reasonable price and open whenever you want a slice or two.

I’m updating my initial 3 star review. For $ 8 dollars you get a full dozen of meaty wings or 10 boneless wings. Perfectly cooked with carrots and blue cheese dressing on the side. Order them regular and they are fully coated with sauce. Order them saucy and they deliver.
We ordered a dozen of regular wings hot and saucy. They cooked them fresh to order and they hit the spot with a spicy Frank’s hot sauce base. The 10 boneless wings were perfectly cooked and tossed in just the right amount of BBQ sauce. These are decent wings and the price can’t be beat. The only downfall is that they only offer mild, hot, or BBQ for wing sauce flavors. I’m not sire how their mild sauce tastes but their hot left me happy and actually made me break a sweat after about 3. Perfect!
Also their sausage rolls are so good. They are delicious sausage, peppers, onions and cheese rolled up in and baked in pizza dough and served with marinara sauce for dipping. These were a pleasant surprise since they were very good. Another star worth mentioning is their deep dish pepperoni pizza. I don’t know if they have new cooks or new recipes but whatever they are doing it shows.

The best. Really is the best pizza I’ve had around. Always open always fresh with unique pies. BBQ chicken is really good as is the chicken bacon ranch. They keep it moving so don’t think you’re hanging out and talk shops with these guys. Get your stuff and go.

Definitely one of the best pizza spots around here. Big slices and they’re really quick behind the counter. The cheese and sauce is really great and doesn’t taste processed at all. Only downside is I think they only take cash.

I just moved here from Idaho and have been having a good time exploring the food around Troy. This place is just down the road from me and I drive by it daily. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, so I haven’t really put it at the top of my list to try… And I’ve been pretty happy with the other pizza places I’ve tried around here, so I didn’t make it a priority.
We finally decided to give it a try, and I’m here to say that I’ve been kicking myself for not trying it sooner. AMAZING PIZZA!!! I don’t really even want to try any other pizza places because I am so enthralled with this place. I’ve never been a huge pizza freak, but now all I do is look forward to nights I decide to eat out, so I can get another pizza from here. Please do yourself a favor and eat here! Now! Do it now!

Delivery driver started texting me after I paid him for my pizza asking if I was single, and made me feel very uncomfortable. Also I was told I got a 10 dollar voucher for my next order, after I ordered they said they couldn’t find any type of voucher… needless I won’t be ordering and then getting sexually harassed by the delivery drivers

Made a mistake and ordered from here rather than the one on Hoosick. We got an 8 cut pie with half mushrooms, broccoli, and olives. Also an order of mozzarella sticks $ 20 even. Came with a free bottle of soda. Because of making the mistake we had to use the ATM which was a bummer.
The one thing I didn’t like the most was how thick and flavorless the crust was. They did however load those topping on there. Can’t really comment on the sauce and cheese since there was so many toppings masking those flavors.
Can’t say I’ll be returning. Mostly because I never have cash, but also because I really didn’t like the thick flavorless crust.
