I have been going to Country View Diner for a very long time and am usually more than satisfied with my experience. Nothing can change the fact that the food and location are great. However, watch what waitress you get. There is a blonde waitress there that seems to constantly get distracted by conversation and doesn’t come back to your table until your almost ready to leave once you get your food. I was very disappointed this evening, having recently had dinner there, when my waitress spent 15 minutes(I timed it) talking to another customer loudly at their table about how to eat right, lose weight, what gym to join and went so far as to exchange Facebook contact information; which you can imagine made we other patrons feel really good about ourselves eating greasy burgers and fries. I’m much less likely to make Country View as frequent a stop going forward.

Food has gone downhill, but the service we received was the poorest I have experienced in many years. Every action taken by our waitress exuded an attitude of «I don’t care». We waited 15 minutes just to order, and once delivered, our waitress never returned until she brought the check. Our last visit to this diner.

Surprising this was a good diner. I didn’t have high expectations walking in but my dinner was really good. Good portion and flavorful. Waitress was very nice. I would give 5 stars but my carrot cake was pretty bland. Chocolate cake was a big hit at our table.

Zero stars… Bought an apple turnover at the countryview diner only to find it was filled with mold! It must’ve been weeks old for it to grow that amount of mold.

The service is horrible. Our waitress literally was sitting watching TV while we waited for re fills etc. The food isn’t bad but not worth it

Good diner food. Honestly wasn’t expecting much because I saw the reviews on Unilocal but I liked the place. The service was friendly. Not super friendly but friendly enough. The food was hot and fresh and the soups were yummy. I don’t know why they got such bad reviews. I liked my split pea soup and absolutely loved the chicken soup that my hubby got. The fish fry was freshly fried and very good. Oh and their Philly cheesesteak sandwich was very good too. Perfectly cooked meat and yummy melted cheese.

12/19/2015 approximately 8:30am. Let me preface this review by saying that we have eaten lunch here in the past and found the food(overall) good to very good. With that said… Breakfast. My wife ordered the Eggs Florentine. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Both breakfasts had untoasted English Muffins as the base(not buttered), basically raw bread. The home fries were in a separate small cup and both portions were quite meager. I requested my home fries to be well done and they identical as my wife’s home fries(not well done). So much for attention to detail. Eggs Florentine usually presents with Gruyère cheese or some other type of cheese drizzle. Not the case here. My wife was unable to identify what type of «sauce» was inadequately & sparingly spooned over her eggs. I tried it and was also unable to identify same. My wife stated that the entire dish was tasteless and inadequate. Eggs Benedict usually has a drizzle of hollandaise sauce over the eggs. I have had Eggs Benedict many times in the past(various locations from the Capital Region to Long Island and also several outside states) and can honestly say I had no idea what was sparsely spooned over my eggs — no taste at all. My overall dish was also inadequate. Staff — our waitress had the personality of a wet cat. Not friendly. The kid behind the cash register with the poor choice in footwear simply looked at me when I gave him my check and payment… I was waiting for him to ask the usual«how was everything» but that would have required a modicum of giving a shite. I didn’t offer my opinion on our poor breakfasts because in doing so I would be wasting my time(understatement). In summation — maybe the cooks, the server and the cash register kid were having a bad day. In fairness I cannot comment on other breakfast items as this was our first(and probably last) visit to this diner for breakfast. I am hoping that was the case(just a bad day) because if this is the standard for both these dishes the owner needs to visit a few competitors to see what the words adequate, tasteful, appealing & satisfying mean to the outside world or fire the army cooks. Also, the owner needs to reboot staff attitudes. Needless to say we won’t be spending our hard-earned money there for breakfast anytime soon. You have been warned. Too many other choices out there. Thanks for reading. Happy Holidays!

Their potato salad and coleslaw are TODIEFOR! I have only been there once — today — and I cannot exaggerate how much I enjoyed their veggie burger which came with the most flavorful, deLISHous accompaniments; cole slaw, an extra delicious PERFECT pickle slice, and potato salad that almost made me cry it was so good. WOW. Furthermore, the atmosphere is charming and bright. The staff warm and accommodating. The background music playing very comfortably low and filling the air with upbeat tunes that sound like they’re coming from a jukebox. OMG — and they also serve cocktails! Breakfast all day. This is now my favorite restaurant in all of New York. — Sincerley. a world class«foodie» :)))))

Waitress was good and helpful. Food was not great. But if you want to fill your tummy with something this is probably going to do.

Too bad there isn’t a button that allows you to rate reviewers as dolts. This place is A-1. It is clean, the staff is professional and pleasant the food is as good as diner food goes and it is completely affordable. I have a hot turkey with plentiful gravy, sometimes fries which are of typical french fry size,(sorry it doesn’t measure up to the french fry expert on here) next time I’ll bring a calliper and measure the thickness. It comes with a mixed veg or salad which is also plentiful and cranberry sauce. All of this for $ 10. 1. Yes they have Gyros(they are Greek ya know) if that somehow doesn’t suffice as a wrap, well then Chili’s is probably the place for you. 2. Honestly you probably need a new fiancée, he sounds like a winner. 3.To the others: You say you stopped a few times on the way to the airport? IF the place is horrible as you say, why would you continue to stop? 4. No they don’t give food away but I hardly think $ 10 is alot for what you get. There is a dollar menu joint about 6 miles down on the left. 5. My family has tried all of the breakfast dishes. All are superb and affordable. Anyone from NYC is probably lost.(in more ways than one). Update. Turkey last time wasn’t homemade turkey it was deli turkey ask what they use b4 ordering. That stuff was awful

I’m pretty sure that they print their pancakes here, and it’s time someone changed the pancake ink cartridges.

Our waitress was nice so she gets 2 stars but that’s kind of where it ends. The table was not set neatly when we arrived, my place setting was just a pile of silverware in the middle of the table. I got a piece of chicken that was undercooked. My boyfriend said his egg salad was ok. All in all, not worth it. I won’t be back.

Negative zero overall! Worst food I have ever seen. Waffles were supposed to have strawberries, but all my kid got was frozen prepackaged, un thawed flower in the shape of a waffle & floured water with pink coloring, not a strawberry in sight for an additional $ 3.00 Plates & cups are 30 years old barely rinsed. Service was unnoticeable as we only saw our waitress when she brought the check. The place is outdated, bathrooms are disgusting. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy there. SHAME on the management for not taking pride, for not offering mediocre service nor food that is fit for a human.

Just happened across this diner this morning. Was really excited by the décor as I’m a total diner junkie. The first thing I noticed was just how clean the place is. As a restaurant professional cleanliness means a lot to me and I was happy to see that this cleanliness carried over to the restroom as well. Our waitress was very prompt and I had a hot cup of coffee and a cold water in a flash… off to a good start. My daughters and I ordered our breakfasts and before we even had a chance to get excited our food had arrived… holy fast! Now almost immediately after the food was delivered one of my sausages hit the floor. I leaned over to pick it up and when I looked up our waitress was already there. I chalked it up as a loss because honestly… I should have more control over my breakfast meats. In no time though our waitress was there with a new sausage… very nice. I was extremely pleased with the food and the service. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the pancakes were a little tough but by no means were they bad. I’m going to visit the Country View Diner again… I really enjoyed it all.

My husband and I have stopped at the diner a few times on the way to the airport for breakfast. We found the service awful, the waitstaff seem half asleep and the food just ok. Recently we moved to the area and decided to give it a try for lunch. Being vegetarian the menu was a challenge. I settled on the Spanikopita. What a mistake. The Spanikopita looked good but the pastry was oily and over cooked. I had trouble cutting it with a knife. The filling had very little cheese. And what is with the boiled rice and canned tomato sauce. It was tasteless. The broccoli was rubbery. The waitress acted like she would rather be home. We will not give this place another try.

My fiancé was not a fan of this place at all. However I found it to be okay. My only gripe is they didn’t have any wraps on the menu =/so I settled with a Gyro. Decent but I wish there was more tomatoes and lettuce in it. The fries were okay. I prefer the thicker ones at diners, and these were on the smaller side. Both our lunches were specials and mine came with a soup. The chicken noodle was pretty good. French Onion soup takes a while to make and ended up coming out only a few minutes before his meal, and my fiancé hates that. All diners seem to do this. They should at least wait until we receive the French Onion before making our entrees. It was a tap bit salty. Also what’s with the new trend on chicken tenders NOT coming with fries? Service was okay, however the empty glass thing happened to us too. Didn’t ask if we wanted refills.

Great food but hit and miss service. This was our fifth time visiting the Country View Diner. This review is for our last visit which was in the afternoon(Mon, Oct 21). We were seated and served water, but it took a while for them to show up with our coffee. Then we waited very long for them to show up again and take our order. While we were waiting to order food, another customer who came in later than us was already served drink and food. He is apparently a regular because he knew everyone’s name and the staff knew his name too. I understand that sometimes restaurants like to serve their regulars first, however, they should’t do so while keep other customers waiting for very long.

Driving through the area around lunch time, and hungry. The food was ok, a little sub-standard from usual diner quality, but not too much. Just a little on the flavorless side. Service was very good and friendly. Prices are reasonable, your standard diner rates.
