Breakaway Deli is excellent. It is a really good sandwich. They have some of the bread made in house, their coleslaw can probably win some kind of award and they have a good Russian dressing. The service is great. Order online, they get busy!

I love that I can order online, pay, and just come in and pick it up. Everyone in our office hits this place for quick carryout. The grilled sandwiches are good. I love their chicken noodle. The new location, just two doors down, is really nice and spacious. It’s a really nice place to eat in now. People are super friendly, service great.

The #2 corned beef sandwich was awesome! Corn beef piled high, coleslaw and dressing in every bite. Sean went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of! Between great food the customer service here sets this place above the rest! I will be adding them to my go to’s for lunch!!! give them a try you will not be disappointed!

I have been to Breakaway Deli several times, and each time I have had a pleasant experience. The food is delicious and the people are always friendly. I also like their online ordering system which allows me to easily order lunch at work.

Great casual place to grab a sandwich and soup. Corned beef and slaw Reuben is really good with lean meat.

Soooo yummy! And every employee was extremely friendly. It was quite refreshing after coming from another nearby restaurant that I had to up and leave before even ordering due to the over abundance of attitude. The sandwich I chose was made perfectly and was huge! Very cute spot that probably gets super busy during the lunch rush. Inexpensive prices and quality will bring me back to this spot as often as I can.

I tried calling breakaway four different times and it went straight to «all phone lines are busy please hang up and try again» so I decided to just go there and wait and when I got there it wasn’t busy at all and no phones were ringing and then i asked about the breakfast sandwiches and they said they only do them till 11 but no where does it say only till 11 even on the website so I said okay and then asked if they could it least put a fried egg on the sandwich and they said no sorry, I work at stacked deli in Birmingham and even at the busiest hours they will make a fried egg for multipe customers it’s even on some of the sandwiches so i know it’s possible our food was good but the other reasons are why only three stars

This is the best deli in the Troy area. They have a great selection of sandwiches, salads and fresh soups. The staff there is always very friendly. They know me by name when I come in. It fells like the deli version of cheers. They just expanded their location and have a nice seating area outside. If you are a vegetation, they have some great selections. If you are a carnivore, they have great reubans. They have something for everyone.

It is honestly the best deli in metro Detroit. I have never had anything bad here. Always consistently great food. Get the #7 grilled. You won’t regret it.

After 3 years of being away from my home town of Troy, I couldn’t wait to eat at breakaway deli! I’ve been eating there for 15 years and was pleasantly surprised with their remodel! It was great to catch up with the owners and other guys that work there but that #8 sandwich is what I missed most! I travel all over the country for business and hands down this place has the best food with the best service! Keep it up breakaway deli and God bless!

The staff is Rude, untrained, with a lack of common sense. Went for carryout on 3÷31÷15. The lack of «order here» sign had me waiting at the wrong spot for a while. Was rudely told that i was in the wrong place. When i suggested better signage the employee just smiled. It was creepy. The older female took my order and said they’d call my name. They did and i was told, rudely again, that i should have paid for it right after i ordered. When i told him that i did as instructed he told me that it was their policy to pay right after ordering. I, again, told him that the older order taking female told me to wait for my name to be called. He, again, told me that their policy was to pay right away. WTF? I got my order, took it back to the office and ITWASWRONG. I immediately called, explained what was wrong and was assured, with NO apology, that my c.c. would be credited. ITWASNEVERCREDITED. Oops, you just lost all my catered lunch business. BECAUSEYOUJUSTDON’T CARE! Not sure how they stay in business.

Hands down best sandwich in town. Forget all the large franchise sandwiches, they have nothing on breakaway. This place has been in troy 25 + years and just relocated to new awesome spot in same shopping center

Simply put, this is a great deli! My Husband works on this side of town, we were out on a Saturday afternoon and we stopped in for lunch. It is a really nice space! Very bright and open. The menu is quite large, and very customizable! You can have your sandwich cold, hot, or grilled. Endless kinds of fresh bread to choose from, lots of cheeses, and enough meat to give you the meat sweats! You can also opt to add more meat to your sandwich. Everything we had was awesome! I decided to go with corned beef, swiss, cole slaw, and russian dressing grilled up on some kick a$$ rye bread! Hit the spot! I didn’t even bother with chips or salads, the sammy was enough for me. Nice perk is this place does online ordering which can make your luch time wait a lot shorter! Order and pay online, walk in and grab your order! So easy!

Great sandwiches, reasonable prices and as a bonus, they offer online ordering. If you don’t order ahead, they can usually get you in and out the door within 5 – 10 minutes(even for a hot sandwich), even at peak lunch hours. That being said, I placed my order online today for a coworker to pick up. I ordered a grilled turkey Ruben(cause who doesn’t love gooey melted cheese and kraut) and arrived as a cold sandwich. I also received the wrong soda. It was still delish, but not what I ordered.

Great lunch spot, I come here at least once a week. Try the #8 special grilled. Also the new location a few down from the old spot is a huge upgrade, really nice!

This place is hidden. This place is not fancy. The two guys who were making sandwiches knew what they were doing. It’s a walk-in, get a good sandwich and walk out. But that’s what I was looking for.

I got the pastrami and corned beef combo, biggest meat. It cost less than $ 9, which is the cheapest I have found around Michigan, especially for the amount of meat you get. The sandwich was not bad, pretty tasty actually, but the quality of the pastrami doesn’t compare to other places. It was very thinly sliced, so I missed the chewiness and the fattiness. However, still delicious and would go back again.

I’m working in the Troy area now and I was soooo happy to have found this gem! The menu is simple, but expansive; I had a hard time figuring out what to get the first time! I’ve only had the sandwiches, but so far, everything has been great. The food is well portioned, very inexpensive and delicious. I checked out their menu online and placed an order for pickup. The staff was very friendly and quick. I was in and out during the lunch rush, which was surprising, especially for the area. My online order was perfect and it was ready on time; this will probably how I order going forward, as it’s so convenient. Forget Jimmy Johns, Jersey Mike’s, Potbelly’s and(ick) Subway. Try Breakaway Deli if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it!

Sometimes I hate that I know i’m going to write a short review, but I think going on and on isn’t really needed for Breakaway. Sammiches are top notch, portioned decently, and priced very well. I love being able to have a Chicago dog, and a deli sammich in the same sitting! So far i’m in love with the #3, which is a mix of pastrami and corn beef with slaw and russian. I get it grilled on an onion roll. Solid 4 stars. Only the most authentic, and best of the best get rated higher. I like my corn beef for a reuben to be a bit more coarse, vs a corn beef lunch meat that I believe is used here. If it’s in house corned beef just sliced razor thin, then my error. Pastrami I like a thicker or more pronounced bark for depth of flavor. Really nice staff. I shall return from 2 miles west of you for many more nom nom noms.

Breakaway. It’s no Ernie’s, but it is a decent quick and nearby alternative when it comes to deli sandwiches. I ordered the Reuben which was good. It wasn’t the best I have ever had(Jimmy Dee’s is the place to go for that), but it was above par. The sauerkraut had a nice flavor, but didn’t over power the taste of everything else and the corned beef was nice and lean. I have had Reubens from other places(cough, Bread Basket, cough) and the meat was super fatty and chewy. No bueno! The star of my lunch though had to be the Chili. It hit the mark on everything a good«Northern» Chili should have. The flavors were spot on, textures were great and it was just overall delicious. I could see myself ordering just a big bowl of that one cold day this Fall/Winter for lunch and be a happy boy. Outside of the food I was a fan of their Online Ordering system. It’s the nerd in me. What can I say? The nice thing about it is that if you want to place a large order for an office, everyone can pay with their own card and designate one person to go pick it up. I love doing group lunches with some of my office mates, but I rarely carry cash on me which can make it a pain when it comes to paying with multiple cards. This makes it super simple and efficient and it is the little things like this that make me a fan. **UPDATE** I am bumping this place up to 5 stars now. I have found the new love of my life in their Roast Beef and Cheddar. ZOMGYO! So good! I get it on Rye instead of the Onion Roll though just because I am not a huge fan of Onion Rolls. So what! Big whoop! Wanna fight about it?!
