After being a long time patron of this location I have to say after my experience this past weekend I won’t be returning… My car was broken into in the parking lot and«security» or management couldn’t have cared less. I was parked in their parking lot a little towards the back and my window was completely shattered and items were stolen from my car. I went inside and asked security who I should speak to regarding the incident and he shrugged his shoulders and was of no help. I called the next day to speak with a «manager» who offered no insight and wasn’t apologetic at all. He said that they only have jurisdiction up until the end of the building, after that they pretty much could care less. He claimed to have no idea when the owners would return and didn’t even offer to take my name or phone number to have someone reach back out to me or to review their camera footage. Nice to know they care about their customers. I’m starting to be over bombers. Their wings, piggy fries and chips and salsa are delicious, but their burritos are pretty disgusting. The chicken they use is nauseating and dry, sometimes it even has a fishy taste to it. The only way it’s edible is if it’s covered in mounds of melted cheese or sauce. Their nachos aren’t even served warm. Its like they dumped cold cheese and lettuce on a pile of nachos and served it. That being said, I won’t be coming back here again.

Let’s be honest kids, the bbq pulled pork burrito is where it’s at. When I’m in Troy I always try to swing by to get one to go. TSA sure was confused when it went through the scanner, but they decided to not violate my burrito. There is something so deliciously perfect about this burrito… the rice is great, the sauce is a little sweet, and everything stays nicely wrapped. This is a fun atmosphere, and it can get a little loud because of it. They have a nice big patio, great for sitting outside in the nice weather(to watch the traffic go by?). Troy needed a place like this. Definitely try the disco fries!

Seriously? Not only is it a questionable crowd in here but I was seated and didn’t even get a menu! Waited about 10 minutes(which was 8 minutes longer than I should have) and I found myself out the door. The waitress was too busy yelling and cursing at the hostess to even pay attention. Poor form.

We went to Bombers in Troy this past Sunday. We had been there once before and many times to their Albany and Schenectady locations. While the other locations serve you delicious food and the service is quick, the Troy store is not as well run and we had a poor experience. The first red flag was when we were told that had NO nacho chips in the entire restaurant. The waitress told us they had been out all day. Coincidentally a family member told me that day he had lunch there and they had nachos. How do you have a Mexican restaurant and have no chips and salsa? Almost laughable. Our order was incredibly simple. Two of us ordered quesadillas, one the Island quesadilla and the other a black and blue quesadilla which is vegetarian. The third diner with us ordered a burrito. That was it. Our food came out after more than 40 minutes. It was brought by a food runner. I asked him if mine was correct as I SAW chicken in it. He would not answer my question, instead telling me to talk to our waitress. I asked her to send over the manager who was a vegetarian. She was apologetic, had my dinner remade and took it off our bill. This was a poor dining experience. I can not recommend BOMBERS in Troy until they get their act together.

Awful all around! Went to see a friend perform music and ate inside near where we thought she would play, but then found she was setting up outside. We weren’t allowed to have a table on the patio because we «weren’t ordering food” — we just spent $ 60 on food and drinks and wanted more margaritas, but this wasn’t enough to get us a table, or even permission to be on the outside patio. Waitresses were so worried about«their tables» ordering food that we were turned away without getting to see our friend play! Why have musicians play if you’re not going to let people see them? Also, since when do you HAVE to order food at Bombers(even though we had), I’ve spent plenty of just drinks, and on this occasion had even more friends coming to buy many drinks who ultimately turned around to go back home, too. And the food was bad– we didn’t even eat the $ 8 guacamole which was more like paste and nothing like avocado. It went untouched and no one even asked us why. Also, they have a margarita special advertised on their website that they refused to honor. That’s classic bait and switch! They gave excuses like«it’s not karaōke night» and«we only do that during these months» The website didn’t mention anything like that, just happy hour margaritas that convinced my friends to come down to Troy. I really have nothing good to say about this location, Matt Baumgartner should take the Bombers name away from this atrocity, it’s nothing like the others. Finally. as we were leaving, there was a girl covered in her own vomit just chilling at an inside table. Guess they aren’t so picky about all their guests… Bottom line– avoid this place!!!

Inferior to the bombers in Albany. Both times I’ve eaten here, I’ve walked away disappointed. Cold food. Different taste.

I can only really comment on the drinks and atmosphere, since I haven’t yet sampled their food at this particular location. The ambiance is cool, I really love the outdoor seating area — very spacious, and the décor is neat. The interior is large, and the lighting makes you forget you are in downtown troy. They do have a large drink selection, however I feel that their margaritas are way too sweet. It’s basically torture trying to finish one without getting a stomach ache. The flavors in the first few sips are always good, but then it goes downhill for me. The signature birthday margarita is huge, but I don’t know how anyone could ever finish it.

Matt Baumgartner! Your name is on this place. You own the brand. You have to assert some quality control. I have visited the Troy location several times and have never enjoyed a comparable experience to those I have had in the Albany and Schenectady restaurants. My last visit to the Troy Bomber’s will probably end up really being my last visit. The wi-fi was not working for either my cell phone or my tablet. I was there for lunch and to use the wi-fi to check up on a few things. But that was thwarted. Both devices detected the signal, but reported it as «Poor.» That calls out to be fixed. Lunch wasn’t so hot either. A veggie burrito was served without the sour cream or guacamole promised on the menu. I did not try taking it up with the waitress, as she wasn’t paying attention when I placed my order, but kept talking over me. Without the wi-fi, I had no incentive to linger. And the deficient burrito did nothing to change that. I like Bomber’s. I live in Troy. But I don’t think I will be going back to this location. Without some major change in the state of things, this ain’t the Bomber’s Burrito Bar that people in the Capital District know and love.

This place is close to a 5 star… but just can’t give it the last one. The main reason is service time. I understand food takes time to make but I just feel like these guys are laggin a bit when it comes to ordering… Now I’ve been here a few times and continue to go — I love their menu. Don’t get me wrong — their food is excellent! My favorite would be the buffalo chicken quesadillas… wow they are superb. But several times I’ve felt like the food was taking quite a bit and others time it was okay — just the inconsistency is why I can’t do 5 starts but it is super close! Drinks: They are great. Period. They do a whole bunch of different margaritas that are all to die for. Well made and a great variety of flavors which you’ll surely enjoy at least one. If margaritas aren’t your thing, they have a great beer selection — not as crazy and large as a bunch of other places but its a pretty damn good selection. You don’t need 30 different kinds of beers when they at least have a quality one or two of each style(wheat, stout, hefe) you know? This place is spectacular for its large outdoor area which is just fantastic in the warm months. If you never been here, I suggest trying it out. It is right near a bunch of other nice bars in walking distance so you can have a great night and make this part of your stops. Cheers!

If you’re looking to eat food at the bar here, don’t bother. The servers/bartenders care more about the people ordering drinks. Took the staff awhile to acknowledge me and take my food order. On top of that, a simple wrap took 25 minutes to come out. The worse part is that it wasn’t even busy this past Friday because of Memorial Day weekend. Definitely won’t be returning here.

Sadly the quality of the service continues to decline at this location. We used to be regulars at the bar and restaurant but long waits and slow and reluctant service has us headed to new places. The bartenders are inconsistent, usually one working the like a maniac and while the other smoozes, complains and serves with an attitude. The drinks are made with inconsistent pours-i watched an order of the same drink being made with completely different amounts of alcohol go into each drink! The place is over run with dirty dishes and glasses piling up on tables. The bathroom is filthy. Where is the management? A place that used to be chill and fun to relax at is now depressing and not worth the visit. Hope you get it together soon Bombers– we will miss you!

I kind of feel like this place is headed for an episode of ‘Bar Rescue’. Within the first 5 minutes, one of the two very busy bartenders gave me lip service for asking for a drink ‘when he got a chance’. I’m tolerant, but why would anyone volunteer for that kind of customer service. That was just the first of several inappropriate comments to customers observed during the ½ hour standing by the bar. Decided to take a seat across from the bar at one of the four uncleared tables. During the ½ hour at the table, no one came to see if I wanted Anything. Wtf? Even worse was all four tables stayed uncleaned the entire time. When leaving, deciding I didn’t want more of this sad experience, there were 5 tables uncleaned and unattended to. A customer Took the initiative to clean one of them up. I’m all for supporting Troy businesses, but I’d rather one with an engaged owner and better service handgun around. Sorry bombers. If owner thing this is just some Competitor downing or ‘hating’, look at your security footage once in a while. Might help improve things somewhat.

Let me start off by saying that I have always loved Bombers. Every year I go there with friends to celebrate birthdays, or just to get dinner. This past Saturday was my Birthday, so a group of 8 went to dinner and to get my Birthday margarita. Everything was fine, we ordered drinks and food. The waitress asked for my I-D to keep behind the bar while I drank my giant margarita, which was fine, I was already familiar with this from the many other years of going there for birthdays. After all was finished, we asked for our check, and I mentioned my I-D. The check came back with food items that we never even received, so I do admit that I was sidetracked by the charges on the receipt that weren’t supposed to be. After figuring this out, we left, happy and fed. The next day, I realized that I never got my I-D back. I called right away to let them know that I would be coming to pick it up. First, they check for the I-D. Apparently, it’s not there. I asked for them to check again because I only went there, gave her my I-D and never received it back. They said it’s not there. So, my question, where did my ENHANCED driver’s license go? YOU take my license so you have leverage on me if I somehow damage your margarita glass, but where is my leverage when you lose my license??! My license that costs at least double what a birthday margarita costs? I will call for the THIRD time later tonight to speak to the waitress, if nothing is done about this situation, they have lost my business along with many of my friends and family.

Met a couple friends in town for lunch and decided to see what the fuss was about with this chain. Long story short, I was appalled. I can only imagine that most burritos are consumed after several drinks. Between the dried out rice, bland chicken, and utterly unseasoned side of chips, I would rather eat at Moe’s up the hill. Stay away if you’re planning to order food. Walk across the street to Brown’s for a much better meal.

Whenever I’m in the area I frequent this place for apps and drinks. The rasta fries are AMAZING and so is their sangria. If you go on your birthday get the free giant birthday margarita. I also like their outdoor seating area in the warm weather. Sometimes service is a little slow if it’s crowded but not unbearable. I definitely recommend Bomber’s.

Stopped by here recently for dinner because I was staying at the hotel across the street, it was snowing heavily, and this place was the closest thing. When I sat down and realized the low ratings on Unilocal I was scared, very scared, this was the first time eating at an establishment with less than a 3.5 start Unilocal rating. Luckily once my food arrived I was happy. I ordered the vegetarian chili soft tacos which were excellent. The cheddar cheese and lettuce on top were fresh. The chips and salsa were decent too. I like how that menu had so many vegetarian options which included tofu. It was a Tuesday night, only a few tables filled, and I asked to be seated at a table. The hostess said they only have«table tops» available so she recommended that I sit at the bar. Ok, fine, but I really would have preferred one of the open tables. I got a Pepsi which tasted like water, so then I got a Dr Pepper which was good. I would go back again if I were in the area.

Dinner with my son tonight on a terrific night. I love the décor. The sun does shine in for about 30 minutes making a direct glare onto a table and perfectly focus into your eyes but two things are true… sun doesn’t happen too often around here and it only lasts about 30 minutes. The food was great. I shared an order of pulled pork fires. A nice order of fries covered with cheese and a huge portion of pulled pork on top. I think the bbq sauce was a little heavy, but it was still delicious. I then had fish tacos. Yum. Rice and black beans on the side. Its just black beans, so don’t expect the same preparation you might see in a latin restaurant. Son had a tofu quesadilla. He loved it! Definitely a good place for an affordable but quality dinner.

What a waste of time and money this place was. I had ordered 2 Baja fish tacos, one hard taco and one soft. They gave me 2 soft tacos. When I asked the waiter if they could bring my hard taco, he said that he could just take my other soft taco, switch out the filling and put the same filling into a hard taco shell. Or he said that that he could bring out a hard taco shell so that I could make it myself if I didn’t want to wait for the chef to make me a new one, because it would take over 10 minutes(SERIOUSLY?!) First they get my order wrong, then the guy is telling me that he would just stuff a hard taco shell with the stuffing that was in my other taco. I didn’t want his hands on my food so I told him to just bring me the taco shell and I would do it. The waitstaff simply didn’t care, the service was crap and the food was mediocre and COLD. I seriously do not know why anyone would want to come back to this junk of a place.

Beer was good, burrito was good, bartending staff were on point. Phone service could be better however. I called to get the specials after I’d already been there to see if they’ve changed. I asked the man who answered what specials were currently going on; he proceeded to tell me about their night wing and beer special and their beer buckets. It’s day time dude, wake up!!! I went there for lunch the other day and was amazed with the kind service. Today I want to go try a burger and I’m thinking I should try theirs out, seeing as I thoroughly enjoyed he ground beef in my beef burrito. The burrito was so huge I couldn’t even put my mouth around it! I loved it and could only finish half. There were $ 5 margaritas that were also delicious and nicely presented in a mason jar. I will be back as it was clean and people there were so friendly! They even let me charge my phone since I was walking around Troy, NY with just myself, GPS, and my phone. :) The star ratings make it seem awful. Come and give this place a try!!!
