The staff is super super friendly and helpful at this location. I told Cynthia, one of the employees there, that the sweater I chose a loose string. She immediately went to the back to find me a better quality sweater. They will do whatever they can to ensure you have a great experience here. I was approach by several employees here if I needed help or any assistance. If you sign up for the Banana Republic card, you get an extra 20% off. Presently, they have 30% off clearance items. I found an amazing sweater here for $ 24.

Marcus was amazing! He was there to help, but he also brought out a few other options for me to try on. Although the pants didn’t work out the dress was perfect. He was kind and truly made me feel that he cared that I was happy.

I have shopped here in years. I used to when they had most rustic wear. But then I needed something fancier and was surprised when two people recommended Banana Republic. I was interested in what they had available but I’m not a fashion person so I need someone to be able to talk to me understand what I want and bring it over. The first person that found me didn’t have a clue. I persisted and floundered around for a while, then in the dressing room another person found me and she was wonderful. If Banana Republic can have more consistent personnel and make the service match the prices then I think it would be a really great store.

The sales reps are helpful and amazing. It is rare that I leave without a purchase. Everyone is helpful. They have even recommended great dry cleaners! I liked the old merchandise configuration but, I am getting used to the new one. I only wish that more dressing rooms were open.

Longtime Banana Republic shopper here… I had a terrible experience with the GM at this store just felt I should share. While I was standing in line I could hear her interacting with the customers she was checking out ahead of me… Each one was an argument about a different topic. This GM just wanted to pick a fight with everyone. Someone should explain to her how to diffuse a situation rather than rile up people. I got to the register, had a smile on my face, and this woman was out for blood. I inquired about a particular discount, and asked to speak to the GM, and she made sure to yell loud enough so everyone in line could hear–«I’m the GM here!» I pretty much didn’t say another word the entire interaction. Think of Jerry trying to get soup from the Soup Nazi on Seinfield… Head down, don’t make eye contact. In all seriousness, Gap/BR corporate– please get a GM in this store is who capable of handling customers, not a person who is burnt out on retail management.

I remember when Banana Republic first opened here in Michigan. They had a safari theme with sketched catalogs. It sure has changed a lot! ha! I can’t remember the last time I shopped here. I don’t see the value in the clothes for the price and it’s not really my style. I decided to stop in one day because I needed to find a pair of pants, cropped pants, or capris to wear to a golf outing. I didn’t have luck anywhere else, especially since I need petite length. The greeter was friendly & bubbly, eager to provide sales information. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much where the customer service stopped. Most of the staff walked around like they were too good for the customers and didn’t want to be there. Fortunately, I found what I was looking for! Not only did they have petite length, they had cropped pants that looked great on! I really liked the quality of the pants and their structure. I would’ve preferred to spend less on them since I don’t golf or plan to fit in that size for long, but I’m glad I got them. The sales staff was a bit of a turn off, but I know that’s not uncommon at Somerset Collection. Banana Republic might be good for some staple pieces that I can wear to work, so I might give it another try in the future.

It seems like there are multiple classes of Banana stores. Unfortunately, I’ve been in a lot of smaller stores where the employees aren’t as helpful and the selection isn’t as good. This weekend, though, I was completely blown away. First of all, there were tons of things on sale. I picked up a trench, several shirts, and a sweater. Hooray sales! Other than my gigantic score, there were other things that stood out as awesome! The store is huge. Cavernous, even. Reminds me of my Banana in NYC! Best, though, were the Employees. Everyone was just so cute. Yeah, that’s a weird way to say it, but all the employees were really really fashionably dressed… I’m sure a level of good looking dress is required, but these folks nailed it. They were also really helpful and friendly, and made my shopping experience a great one. Next time I go clothes shopping, I’ll drive to this Banana, even though it’s three or four times the distance of my nearest one.

While I’ve long since been a fan of Banana Republic for their classic and understated styles, over the past few years I’ve also noticed that the quality in their clothing isn’t there any longer. That said, the stores are always impeccably kept, maintained and staffed. The employees are mostly friendly if not a tad bit uppity depending on which location you frequent but it’s come to pass that so much of their men’s line has become one note. I used to be able to find items that were set to impress and now I feel like it’s all too similar. As I look around the Banana store(s) it seems that the same patterns, styles and cuts(at least for men) keep resurfacing from year to year with nothing eye catching to draw on. What bums me out most though is the fact that any sweater, t-shirt, pull over or knit top falls apart within the year. Their pants have a longer half life which is why I still walk their isles but they’re starting to fall behind in quality period. It’s a sad state of affairs. But I’ll keep going back hoping that they turn it around — their clothes are comfortable and as I said they have a classic look that appeals to me but I want something more for what they charge. I guess there’s always the GAP: }

You want to impress me? If i’m paying for my items and telling my friend that I need to hit the ladies room ASAP, you tell me that there are restrooms in the store that customers can use. Yeah Banana Republic, it was that easy.
