The Richardson Greenway makes up one very tiny section of just 0.8 miles of the greater North Carolina Thread Trail for the portion winding through Troutman, NC. It is well maintained and kept beautiful year round as a centerpiece to the Troutman community. It passes in front of the town hall, connects at one end to the Troutman Depot which hosts various events and markets throughout the year and contains an offshoot nature trail which brings the walker to the newly established and ever-improving Troutman ESC Park — started up by Troutman’s largest manufacturing company. The trail is well used by locals walking their dogs and kept clean of pet litter on an honor system. It’s great for a lunchtime walk or a short jog which can loop back and forth until you feel you’ve run enough.
