The Last place I’d go for Mexican. It wasn’t to bad when they 1st opened, last time I went was June, refried beans were gray. Food was dismal and to salty.

Just had this for the first time last night, we ordered as take out. The food wasn’t bad, I rather enjoyed the shredded chicken enchiladas and the rice and beans that came with it. I also enjoyed the chips and salsa, it’s got great flavor and a good amount of kick! I was however underwhelmed by the beef taco that came with my enchiladas. It seemed that the meat that was used was hamburger meat rather than shredded beef. I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to a good taco, but the meat was crumbly and dry and lacked any flavor. Needless to say, I didn’t eat much of it and will not be ordering that again. Lastly, I did find that their food was quite pricey in comparison to what we got.

The dining room was dirty, and even though it was 80 degrees outside the air was dirty. The booths are made of old pallets, and the food was as appetizing as the décor. I had the aero con pollo and it was swimming in grease. Pretty pricey for cheap Mexican food. Make the short trip to Mi Pueblo in Statesville or Sauza’s in Mooresville. In summary: Yuck.

They have a burrito called«Burrito argus» that is so big, it is hard to finish. I call it a fajita burrito because it has grilled chicken or steak, onions, peppers everything you would have on a fajita all wrapped up in burrito. It is only like $ 8, what a deal. I think they named it «chips and salsa» because their chips and salsa are so good!

I’ve ate here 5 – 6 times and every time there has been one problem or another. One time I was running late for work so I called my order in for pickup. Upon arrival they told me that I did not place my order. So I went to work with no food. Another time I had to send my food back 2 times. First time my order was wrong, 2nd time it was cold. They also brought me shredded up cheese in its own bowl. It would have been better if the cheese was heated up with your meal so it would be melted. Stay away from the meat at all cost. My dog eats that Cesars dog food and it looks and smells more appealing than this stuff. One time I think I seen it move on my mothers plate. The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because they have good salsa and it’s cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.

No bueno. Took 45 minutes to be served because apparently a party of six seated before us brought the kitchen to a standstill. Seats are made out of discarded pallets which are as uncomfortable as they sound. Had to stand in line to pay instead of having the check brought to the table. The kitchen looked filthy. Food was subpar. The choripollo was ok but the steak fajitas were nasty. At least the waitress was nice. Not enough good to warrant a second chance.

Food is decent. But its kind of hard to screw up mexican food. The problem with this place is that the food is TERRIBLY overpriced. The place is attached to the side of a gas station which really dampens the dining in experience. Also, NEVER call in a to-go order there. They will screw it up terribly. It’s happened on several occasions to people I know that have ordered there, and to myself. I recommend making the extra drive to somewhere put it bluntly… this place sucks.

I didn’t know what to expect when I stopped here for lunch the other day, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the carne asada which tasted pretty good and I was happy with the quantity of food you get for the price. My waitress was very nice. The atmosphere was better than I expected since it’s right next to a gas station(I thought they were connected at first and wasn’t sure how much I wanted to try this even though a coworker said it’s not so bad.) I’d stop by again if I’m out that way around lunch time.

Well, what can I say? It’s pretty standard Mexican restaurant food. I like Jen’s review because we are podunk and this is a pretty standard Mexican restaurant for a podunk town. Nonetheless it won’t disappoint. They have great prices on good tasting and filling lunch specials. Waitress staff is nice, not to mention attractive. And they have the cliché Tecate beer ads and Spanish language channel on TV. And despite its location it’s quaint and has a relaxed atmosphere.

The name is the most interesting one for a Mexican restaurant! :D Chips & salsa are pretty decent. Tacos are good. The décor could use some improving, but it’s directly next door to a gas station… so…guess you get what you pay for.

SSeems we are finally moving into the modern age as we now have edible Mexican in podunk Troutman. The location is easy to find but kinda misleading b/c you can’t see much except the gas station it’s adjacent to and a banner that says, ‘Mexican Food’. After months of hoping someone would write a review of this new joint, I decided to gamble and give it a try. I will give them credit, they exceeded my low expectations. The interior is bright and alternates b/t too warm(your’s truly) and too cold(the rest of my party). The food, however, is served scorching hot and the salsa verde has wasabi-like heat. The chips were okay and the salsa, IMO, could use more oomph but the guac was very good. Big chunks of avocado, lots of flavors. I had the flautas con pollo, my son had the burrito con pollo and hubby had the carne asada burrito. Each dish was loaded with meat and I love that they serve their burritos enchilda style. Both boys ate lots. Hubby and I cleaned our plates. Our companions had the street tacos made to order, their daughts had the quesadilla and burrito/taco combo. All plates were clean by the time we left. The food was good but not worth $ 42(inc tax/tip) for two adult meals w/guac, one kids meal, rice/beans, one soda. The service was good but don’t take your horny 13yo nephew as, thanks to our servers choice of tank top, you get ‘dinner AND a show’ according to our friend.
