This campground was so clean and well-kept. The managers onsite, Kenny and Carol, were so pleasant and helpful. The location is off the beaten path but well worth it. Only downfall was the bathrooms. While they were extremely clean, the«hot showers» were not hot. Lukewarm wouldn’t even describe it. They were cool. If you’re going in October or November, the shower will be brutal. Also no paper towels or air dryer in the bathrooms so bring your own. If you’re going during a busy season, plan to wait. Only one shower and one sink in each pod.

Just thought I should review this campground while I’m looking for new adventures for this summer. We went last year for memorial day with a great group of friends. if you’re new to camping this would be an awesome place to go, the bathrooms are super nice and all the camping spaces are nice and secluded. Also — the hike up to mount rogers was incredibly memorable. It wasn’t a short hike but it wasn’t that steep, I believe we went about 9 miles total to get to the opening/valley at the top(so we didn’t go to the TOP of mount rogers but we got close). Why did we stop? BECAUSETHEREWEREWILDPONIES!!! Best trip ever

This campground is a little off the beaten path, but is worth a side trip if you’re into camping. It is a beautiful place, well kept up, easy access to sites, well laid out. Pretty much all the campsite are heavily shaded. Restrooms spotlessly clean, staff very pleasant. It is mostly wooded, but the only thing I wished was sites were a little more private. But that is true of almost all places now, especially if you want hook ups. At another time of year, it might not have been quite so nice(we camped here in middle of the week, during the school year) but one of the most noticable things was that the atmosphere here was so serene.
