Mike Campbell at Performant Fitness in Trophy Club is the best trainer I’ve ever worked with! He customizes each session to target specific needs. Mike varies the routines so it’s never boring. I am stronger now than ever! And he’s flexible with my changing schedule! Finally, he’s a great storyteller when a distraction is needed! I would recommend Mike Campbell to anyone who wants to improve their fitness regimen!

Buyer beware! I thought I signed up for a 6 month paid in full membership. I missed the fine print saying it would go month to month after that… which completely defeats the purpose of a paid in full. Even worse is the state of the gym. There is limited equipment. They only have 2 stair masters and one never works properly. The gym is also never cleaned. You’ll see the same towel on the floor for days until you just clean it for them! I originally signed up because it is close to home and my then employer paid half, because that’s all this very limited gym is worth! For $ 43 a month, you can go to a gym with updated equipment that includes the classes! Worth the extra 5 – 10 drive time.

First off, I love small gyms! After a bad experience at 24 Hour Fitness off Western Center Blvd. and I-35 in Fort Worth(over-crowded, VERY dirty, empty cleaning spray bottles and smelled like filthy gym socks), I made the choice to stick to smaller facilities. I’ve been a member of Fitness 2000 and Anytime Fitness in addition to Performant Fitness, and I can say they are all on about the same ranking/level. Here is my detailed review of Performant Fitness. I’ve been a member since July 2014. Pros: –Never over-crowded –The weight equipment is fairly new and always clean. –I’ve rarely had issues accessing the equipment I’ve planned on using for the day. –There is no dirty body odor smell(lol this is important to some of us)! –There is always a fully stocked dispenser of wipes to clean your equipment. –The staff is very friendly. –24 hour access using a key fob. –Showers and bathrooms are always clean. –Chilled water dispenser in the gym. –The cardio equipment is always available. –Options — for an additional monthly fee you can attend their Group FX training or other additional training classes. There are also trainers available for personal training sessions(none of which I can afford). Cons: –Overly lengthy contracts — I had to sign an 18 month contract to get the lowest monthly payment of $ 43. –Pricey — I think the monthly gym dues are too high(about $ 10 to $ 13 too high), however I am willing to pay for the convenience as this gym is only 2 miles from my home. –Group FX — I’d like to attend these classes however I am not paying for them. Wishing it was part of my afore mentioned high gym dues. I have seen some ladies make great transformation though by consistently attending these classes.

I stopped in to check out this new Health Club in Trophy Club. I retired a couple of years ago and finally decided to join a local gym. I spent a few minutes on the tour with a very nice salesman named Kyle. It’s a fairly small building so the tour was basically doing a 360. I can picture this place being very crowded during peak hours. Kyle then ran through the membership prices for 18 month memberships, 12 month and one month. I travel quite a bit so I was interested in the month to month. For $ 50 bucks a month, I decided that this would be a good match for me. Kyle explained that unlike other clubs, they didn’t have an «initiation fee.» I was convinced that Performant would be a good deal for my needs. I thanked him for his time, grabbed a card and told him that I would get a hold of him in the next couple days. As I was leaving, he stated that on top of the membership, that I would be charged a ONETIMEFEE for a key to the front door. He said I would have to pay $ 60 bucks for a FOB, an electronic key that I would use to gain access to the Club. Pretty much no different from a programmable key that hotels use for guests. In other words, a disposable, programmable key that can be de-activated with the click of a mouse. Cost to Management? PENNIES. I left there feeling like I was missing something. I called back today and had to ask, «Is that key charge refundable?» The answer was NO. I told the salesman that the key charge was ridiculous and was nothing but a hidden«initiation fee.» I’ve worked as a locksmith before and I know exactly how much it costs a business to have a paying customer to walk through their door. ZERO. The salesman then asked me if he was to CUTTHEPRICEOFTHEKEYTO $ 30BUCKS, would I be interested? I told him«NOTHANKS» and hung up, but not before I told him that I was going to post this nonsense online. I HOPETHISREVIEWSAVESYOUATLEAST $ 30BUCKSONYOURWAYTHROUGHTHEDOOR if your foolish enough to pay a «Kickback» for being a valued guest. If they ever change this ill conceived policy, I hope they post it. Paying a $ 60 cover charge to workout in a crowded little building is way out of line. Lowering it to $ 30 for those that complain only means one thing. THEYKNOWIT. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Best of Health to You and Your Family!
