East Lake Pediatrics

I love East Lake Pediatrics (as a whole), there is no doubt about it. I have taken my girls here for years but there are only 2 pediatricians in this office I want my girls to see. That is Dr Jennifer and Dr. Cary. I wanted to give this office a good review because these two Drs have always been amazing to my girls. But I will NEVER have them see Dr Jessica Smith ever again at this office.
My daughter had been sick a couple of weeks ago fever, vomiting, nausea etc. We treated it like any other stomach bug, she seemed to have got better so we sent her to school she kept complaining more and more of a tummy ache. I didn’t like that it was happening so frequently so I scheduled an appointment and was sent to see Dr Smith.
She took my daughters blood and checked for anemia and saw that her white blood cell count was high. She said this was probably because she was sick (two weeks ago) and was still fighting it off. So she prescribed her Miralax and Ranitidine (for acid re-​flux and because my daughter said she had trouble going #2) She said if it doesn’t get better in THREE WEEKS to come back in.
We went to the Dr on Friday, tried the medications she prescribed on Friday and on Saturday but my daughter got another fever and vomiting (starting Friday) so I know the medications weren’t working. I took my daughter to the hospital Sunday evening because her temp was at 101.4 and complaining her stomach was hurting. Come to find out my daughter has a KIDNEY INFECTION and needed antibiotics ASAP. I am glad I didn’t wait the THREE WEEKS she advised and sought real medical attention for my daughter.
