I have lived in the area for most of my 50+ years and have eaten at many other Italian restaurants in the past. It was my birthday so my friend suggested we try Revere. Let me first by saying the wait staff was outstanding, the bread delicious but unfortunately the rest of the food was sub par for the prices they charge. Service was slow, salads were soggy and my veal parm tasted a tad on the burnt side. The other members of my party commented that the food was just ok and again for New York prices I expected a much better dinning experience.

Went for lunch. My son Russell took me for my birthday. The staff are so nice and attentive. No rudeness from anyone. The food was very good. My favorite was the french onion soup. The bread they serve is wonderful. I couldent get enough. And the lovely lemon cake wiped cream delight. Was to die for.

Wow, maybe we caught it on a bad night but dinner last night was a total disaster. 45 minutes to get our appetizers and over an hour to get our entrees. My wife’s salmon was so so over cooked it was practically inedible but didn’t want to send it back because I did know how long it would take to get a replacement. And by this point we just wanted to get the hell out ASAP. Three hours and $ 150 I’ll never get back. Terrible.

Poor customer service. Sometimes only good food doesn’t matter it should be a combination of 2. It’s real dark inside this place maybe the owners should look into this.

Never knew about this place until searching Unilocal.Quite a surprise. The food was excellent. Two in our party had the specials — spicy ahi tuna and a mahi-mahi special with clams and broccoli rabe. They both loved their meals. I had the chicken francaise — you could tell it was freshly prepared. The batter was light and the chicken tender. The meal was accompanied with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Service was excellent. The server asked if we wanted to slow the meal down or speed it up, and he let us know that a very large party would be ordering so we knew of any potential slowing of service. I would highly recommend Revere.

I lived in NJ for most of my life and about 3 years ago moved to Florida, this place is one of the few things I miss about living in NJ. Real Italian food. Everything is like heaven I have never ordered anything here that wasn’t incredible. The prices are also super reasonable. If this place was in Miami they would charge and make a fortune. You just can’t find Italian food like this in Florida and believe me I have looked. I dream of their filet, and vodka rig. Every time I am in NJ I make a visit to this place. I grew up coming here and have come here for over a decade and don’t have a single bad food memory regarding this place! If you haven’t been get up and go! You need to!

I love this place. The food is out of this world and the portions are on point! I had the chicken Marsala and my date had the NY Strip Special and oh man we were having foodgasms galore. The only issue last night was that they messed up his order then forgot to get his second glass of wine but it was busy and our waitress was nice. The guy that I think is the host was awesome and checked in in between our waitress to see if we wanted another drink/refills on water. This place is a must, you won’t be disappointed by the food. It was nice hearing whoever that was singing earth wind and fire karaōke hitting those high notes :-) We had a really good time and this place made it so much better.

My GF and I sat at the bar Saturday night. Dinner was very good. Service was terrible. There were 2 bar servers at the bar making drinks and taking food orders. The bar was basically empty. Both bar tenders seemed to know everyone that walked in. They spent more time chatting with these people than taking care of us. We waited so long just to get their attention to get knives for our dinner. I hope management sees this and improve the bar service.

Still a great foodie spot with classic foods and amazing specials. The appetizers especially the crab stuff mushrooms fantastic. The dungeness crabs are to die for they are so good! Friendly and very efficient staff. Great wine list choices too!

I have been to Revere a number of times and have always had a great experience. I recently went in for lunch and had a great Panini sandwich on fantastic«Hoboken» bread. I hadn’t heard of it before but I won’t be forgetting it any time soon. Revere is one of those reliable quality restaurants that you can stop in and enjoy great Italian food.

walking in was confusing and had a disorganized feel right off the bat. We had to look around for somebody to find out I we sat ourselves or not. Once we were seated, the waiter was very friendly. Apparently there had been an event beforehand and that could have added to the disorganization. The service was great and amazing bread was brought out right away. We were even asked if we wanted more as we were waiting. Of course we did :) Each entrée also comes with a really fresh and plentiful salad, which was a nice touch as that’s kind of rare these days. Entrees were a bit expensive, but the more casual fare was reasonable. My friend got the all you can eat crabs and they started off looking beautiful, but with each plate they brought out they went downhill and the portions got significantly smaller. I don’t eat crab legs, so maybe that’s typical? The second plate was smaller and missing the sauce. The waiter brought it out on the side. The third plate was the smallest and again, missing the sauce. My friend was reeeeally pregnant(ended up having her baby the next day) and asked if she could take the rest of her crab legs home(maybe 2 legs?) and of course was warned that they would charge her double if she did that. She snuck them out anyway after we paid(ha!) and waddled out of the place. I got the Shrimp Scampi and I was happy with it. I would have liked more lemon, less pepper. Everything was highly peppered now that I think about it. The shrimp were cooked a little on the rare side for me, but I managed to get them all down. All in all, it was a good meal.

Ugh! So disgusted with the experience here. Took my mom, dad, grandmother Saturday for a meal on Mother’s Day weekend. First of all, the front doors were left open so all the smoke from people smoking at the front door came to our table. thanks, I’m 7 months pregnant. Our server was SLOOOOOOWWW! Everything seemed to take twice as long as it would at another restaurant. Our water wasn’t refilled in timely basis. Drinks took 30 mins to come to table, and entrees were covered in cracked black pepper. who does this? does a decent restaurant have the server ask to ADD this seasoning? My grandmother could not eat her seafood meal due to it being too peppery. My dad’s saltimbocca was poorly prepared– oh– and the cup of mac and cheese with a little seafood appetizer was $ 17. we liked the bacon dusted calamari. service sucked so bad– could not wait to escape this place. never going back aweful.

Another great meal at the Revere last weekend. I had the French cut Pork chop for the first time. Outstanding with a capital O. Joe was very hospitable and made sure everything was perfect. For those who have not been there the bread is truly worth the trip.

I feel like I was just on an episode of Restaurant Impossible. We took a seat at a table in the bar area and after a bit of a wait a server came to take our drink order. There was a party wrapping up in the next room which seemed festive. But as they finished, members of the party were coming to the wait staff station, located right next to our table(never a good plan for a restaurant lay out) to pay their bills. The waitress was extremely loud sorting out all of these bills — there were no less than 6 separate checks and we later learned it was a wedding party(seriously, who splits the check that many ways — or at all — for a wedding celebration? That should be against restaurant policy.). This happened for the duration of our dinner. We waited a very long time for our appetizer and even longer for our food. Once the salads were served, our pasta came out within minutes. Our server left the table so quickly we couldn’t order another round of drinks. My mother went to the bar herself to get our drinks(water glasses were never refilled). There was also an employee who seemed to be a manager but was very clearly serving herself drinks behind the bar and yelling around at the restaurant staff about who misplaced her drink. This was very distracting. The final nail in the coffin that was our dinner occurred as we were paying our bill. I watched another employee enter the bar with a small dog on a leash(not the seeing-eye variety). All other employees were excited to see the dog, guess he’s a regular… For laughs we threw down 3 credit cards at the end just to see what would happen. It was epic entertainment.

After driving past Revere’s for a number of months, we finally decided to come in and try it., and we were happy that we did. Since I read some of the reviews here before going, I followed everyone’s advice and ordered bacon-dusted calamari appetizer. We both loved it. The flavor was surprising: my girlfriend commented that the sauce was somewhat Asian style, slightly resembling the Chinese duck sauce, but it fit so well with the seasoning and the breading of the calamari. The bacon flavoring gave it an extra touch of complexity. The calamari were cooked just right — not overcooked and therefore not rubbery. For the main meal, we went with Alla Vodka pasta(rigatoni pasta with vodka sauce) and Veal Caprese. We absolutely loved the sauce on Alla Vodka pasta — it was so rich and creamy, with large chunks of tomatoes among the pasta, along with fresh herbs and seasonings. Pasta was cooked just right — al dente, but not undercooked either. Veal Caprese was very good as well — the veal was very juicy, not chewy, and the sauce somewhat resembled marsala. I enjoyed both meals, but if I had to pick, I would go with Alla Vodka pasta for the exploding flavor of its sauce. We got a house salad with each of the main courses. It wasn’t anything special, but it was fresh and dressed with balsamic vinaigrette, and the side of fresh parmesan cheese was definitely a nice touch. The toasted bread that the restaurant serves in the beginning is something to write home about — artisonal bread toasted to crisp perfection and seasoned with garlic and parmesan cheese and drizzled with olive oil. We were there on a Saturday night, so the place was packed. Service was good and professional, but if you are extremely hungry or in a hurry, take note that it takes a while until your meals come out! We didn’t mind because it was a special evening for us, but I think it was a good 40 minutes after we got out appetizer until our main courses came out. Again, not a problem with us, but it’s something you may want to take into account. All in all, we had a great time, and we were so full that we had to get half of the food to go, which made a nice lunch the next day! If you like Italian cousine, we definitely recommend you give Revere’s a try.

I’m struggling with the review, because overall dinner last night was a very positive experience. We loved the service. We loved the cheese bread & salads(be sure to get the dressing on the side, since my companion’s salad was drowning). I had delicious grilled salmon, mashed potatoes & veggies. My friend ordered veal marsala that was way way heavy with cracked peppercorns, and she is not a fan of spicy foods. We each had ice tea, and halfway through the meal we were offered refills to the rather small glasses of tea. My friend had coffee & we shared a delicious tiramisu. When the check came, we were charged for 4 ice teas @ $ 2 each. I found that really poor business, and said so when the embarrassed waitress came for our payment. She said that there are no free refills except coffee at Revere, and I got the feeling this is something she deals with all the time. Despite the good food and service, I took a star for that refill policy. Maybe I’m being petty, but I’d rather them charge $ 2.50 or even $ 3 and give me refills.

I can’t believe I haven’t written about BACONDUSTEDCALAMARI! Yes, it’s as awesome as it sounds. Revere is in this odd part of town, kind of on route 29, but not. I don’t particularly like to come eat INSIDE because it’s all dark and gloomy no matter what type of 90 degree weather sunshine is outside. The place gives you the feeling that there is some kind of illegal mob business going on in the table next to you; which I guess adds to it’s charm because next thing you know you are whispering to your date. Now the food — I’ve been here a handful of times and have never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered. I prefer to come during the week for lunch as they have a $ 10 lunch menu that rocks. But everything from the penne vodka(creamy to perfection), to the roasted revere chicken(big enough to easily feed two) is absolutely delicious. What I never, ever skip out on here is the appetizer — bacon dusted calamari. It’s their own take on it, so it’s kind of sweet, salty and bacony — absolutely perfect. I haven’t had anything like that anywhere else. I am taking one star out because it always seems like there is only one server on at all times so if there are a few tables in there, it takes awhile. Then the bartender is not very knowledgeable on drinks besides wines, but I guess this is that kind of place where you order wine and not a bay breeze. Definitely get here and look as shady as possible… trust me, you will fit in and next thing you know you will leave with a greasy Italian mobster accent.

I think I’ve been there 3 times in the last year and half. My in-laws seem to like it a lot. As for me, not so much. I think the first time I went I had veal parm which was good, but nothing to write home about. The next two times the meals were just plain boring. Not a lot of flavor at all. My bro-in-law had a steak which was a good size but came out lukewarm. He sent it back and they did manage to warm it without overcooking it, so give them credit for that. The atmosphere is good. Even with the bar and TVs there isn’t a lot of noise. The service has been hit or miss. The second time we went the waitress was awful. Maybe she was having a bad night, but she was dismissive, rarely checked in on us and didn’t seem to care that people on the other side of the table couldn’t hear her when she spoke. Very disappointing. My in-laws like it, so I guess I can’t beat up the place too much, but I wouldn’t go back on my own or take anyone there.
