Love this place. The beer and pizza all you eat night is simply amazing. Love the local open night on Sunday’s.

Since we live, literally, around the corner it’s become a frequent spot for the fried bird… If you are looking for a «fine dining experience» this is not that spot. If you are looking for some good fried chicken, inexpensive and on the go, Prince’s is that joint! We like to mix it up with the selection, but sometimes we just do wings! Whatever your preference, skip Popeye’s and KFC… Hit Prince’s fried!

Pulled up to this Prince Fried Chicken after work one night last week. The driveway is not on Olden Avenue, but on the side street next to the adjoining liquor store. Miss that and you will have a job finding your way back here, especially after dark. That being said, after trying their breasts and wings I will not likely be going back. When I arrived home and sat down to eat my purchase, I found the coating to be overcooked and the meat a bit dry. I had noticed that the chicken was a shade darker than richly golden, but as everything in the bin was the same color, I thought that would not be an issue. It was, however. The pieces were meaty and the prices very inexpensive. If the chicken itself had been crunchy, spicy and moist, it would have been a big hit. It might have been a bad lot left in the fryer too long, or perhaps suffering freezer burn, but you only get one chance to make a first impression. Given the alternative fried chicken shacks all around the area, I will keep searching for the perfect batch.

We live near this place and decided to try it based on good reviews we saw here. I don’t know if I’m just biased because I’m from the South and don’t know what passes for fried chicken in New Jersey, but this was not good. The biscuit had the consistency and flavor of a hockey puck. The fried chicken breading was overcooked. The chicken itself was OK but nothing special. The mashed potatoes and gravy were definitely not homemade. I hate to say that KFC would have been better, but it would have been. By a large margin. Will not be going back.

Best fried chicken in New Jersey, by far. And I had a lot of fried chicken in many different places. Nothing beats Prince.

The fried chicken is literally fall of the bone tender. A bit greasy but not too bad. Personal recommendation is to eat the fried chicken with some hot sauce and rice. Soulful combination! The only downside is that the area seems a bit run down. But then again you’re in Trenton so not a huge surprise.

The chicken was actually great. I disagree with a review on here. It may look like a typical local chicken joint but it’s not. The chicken is actually really good, and also better then other chicken I’ve tasted. The customer service here is really, really slacking. Also the place looks run down. Could you a touch up.

Oooooo LAWD chile! So my sister who lives in Trenton sent me over to Prince’s Fried Chicken this evening to pick up dinner for 4 adults and 2 kids. Did not disappoint! The breakdown: –This place is not quite in the ghetto, but a visit during daylight hours is strongly recommended. Very typical ambiance– straight up fried chicken/burger joint. –Staff were friendly and personable once menu choices were made. –Chicken was exceptionally good, with crispy skin and juicy meat. More importantly, the chicken stayed crisp even after a 15 minute car ride home. True test of crispiness! –This place is cheap, cheap, cheap! $ 3.25 for mozzarella sticks? Yes please! Our bill for 20 hot wings, 9 pieces of chicken, 2 orders of mozz sticks, fries and a drink was 29 bucks!!! Incredible. I’ve paid more in Sydney for wings alone! My ass is fatter tonight thanks to Prince’s, but hey, that’s what running is for.

Prince is your run of the mill local fried chicken place. They have a good combination of fried chicken, burgers, fries, gyros, and meat & rice platters. The price is pretty reasonable with the quality of the food being about what you would expect from a place like this. If you’re looking for fried chicken and don’t have any kosher/halal restrictions(the chicken here is halal) I would tell you to go to KFC, as their fried chicken tastes better in my opinion. Otherwise, this place is a pretty decent option. They are generally open pretty late, although at times you may find a bit of a «ghetto» crowd around this establishment(it doesn’t help that there’s a liquor store right next door). Best bet is to call in advance and place your order so your wait time isn’t too long.
