Pizza plaza is my daily lunch spot during the week. I work on d’arcy ave right down the street and I couldn’t ask for a better place to eat at everyday. I love that the employees are super nice and always make you feel welcomed back. I am absolutely addicted to their cannolis, as they are delicious. The pizza is also very good and there is always super fast service and never ever a wait. Prices are«do-able» and I enjoy their spot system as well. Love pizza plaza and everyone who works there. Keep it up. See y’all tomorrow!!!

Déjà vu all over again! What was once Pizza Plaza is again Pizza Plaza, complete with identical signage and food quality. It may now be in the control of another generation of family restauranteurs, but the Italian dishes coming out of the kitchen are very reminiscent of what the older folks were cooking back in the day. The space is utilitarian pizzeria style with basic tables and chairs and a large glass counter area where the day’s pies are displayed and the ovens open their fiery lips to bake whatever the chef slides in. Behind that, the prep and stove kitchen for everything else. I used both in my request for an Eggplant Parm Sammy. The double sautéed thin sliced nightshade was very tasty from the olive oil and light breading. The twice panned veggie was tastier than its cousins that only are baptized once in the iron pan. The roll was typical Trenton quality, and after being scorched again to melt the cheese, came on hot and crisp. This was a quality sandwich in the upper echelon of its peers on the hood. Next visit, I’ll check out the pizza and let you know.

As a NJ child of the 80s and teenager of the 90s, my recent experience at Pizza Plaza brought me back and I was lucky enough to share it with my wife and toddler. I ordered a Trentonian(Pork roll, egg & cheese on a kaiser roll), and a side of onion rings. My wife ordered something i’ve never heard of, but she was pumped to see that there was something on the menu from her South Jersey childhood — a Panzarotti(a pocket of dough filled with mozzarella cheese & tomato sauce). My daughter had chicken fingers. As we waited for our food, I had the wonderful experience of showing my daughter the arcade games I grew up with: Space Invaders, Ms Pacman, Asteroids, and Missile Command — ALLFREE, by the way. To also make me reminisce of days of old, we enjoyed playing tracks(Hootie, Boss, Fleetwood Mack, Van Morrison, etc) from the FREE jukebox. And picture this if you still can: an old school cigarette machine, gumball machine full of runts, and a payphone. Yes, a PAYPHONE. Lastly, the food. As stated above, I had onion rings and a porkroll, egg & cheese. It tasted exactly as expected. Not incredible and not bad. It was… good. However, the overall experience made it wonderful. My wife said she enjoyed her panzawhatever and my daughter couldn’t get enough of the chicken fingers. I am very excited to get back there and try more of the extensive menu. They also have desserts. I’ll try that next time.
