Didn’t start off heading for Perfetto’s Pizza, but when Chester’s Halal Fried Chicken was closed for prayer Friday afternoon, I ended up across Lalor Street at this outwardly dumpy looking pizza joint. I was wrong to judge a pizzeria by its cover. Turns out that Perfetto’s is bigger than it looks, with a dining room in back, counter service in front, and a comprehensive menu. I sat down in the dining area(where it was warmer), alongside some of Trenton’s finest. I didn’t want pizza, so ordered the lunch sized Penne with Broccoli, Garlic and Oil. I asked for the garlic to be very well done. The lunch came with choice of soup or salad, and a basket of home baked bread. The platter arrived overflowing with Broccoli and Penne. The Garlic was thin sliced, golden and ubiquitous. A little grated Romano and ground Pepper, and I was in business. It tasted great! The Salad with Balsamic was adequate, but not memorable, and the bread, while warm, was basically pizza dough shaped into a half loaf. It would have been better flat and covered with red gravy and cheese. The service was friendly, bilingual, and perhaps a bit slow due to the dining room being out of sight of the front cashier and kitchen door. Still, at $ 7.50 for a full meal with take home extras, I was pleased with finding Perfetto’s. Perfetto’s was not perfect, but had its moments of grandeur. MARCH3, 2015UPDATE: Returned today and had Cavatelli Spinach and a Bowl of Chicken Veggie Soup. The Soup was loaded with soft Chicken, Onions, Celery and Carrots, and the Cavatelli was a full platter of well sautéed spinach with plenty of golden garlic. Impressive lunch for $ 7.95!

I usually don’t review random pizza places, but this one is note-worthy. Took a walk over here while my car was getting an oil change down the street. The young lady behind the counter was really sweet and made me feel welcome. I ordered a slice of sausage and a slice of chicken and broccoli. The crust on the sausage slice must have been thin because it ripped and I couldn’t pick it up. When I went up to ask for a fork she said she’d give me another slice free of charge. I was pretty surprised. The pizza itself was quite scrumptious. The sausage was my favorite. Prices weren’t bad either. I find myself in the area pretty often. With good food, good prices, and great service/staff I would definitely stop in again.

This is our local pizza place. It is no DeLorenzo’s(on Swan of course) but the pizza is good, the staff is friendly.
