Miry Run Country Club

I actually really liked Miry Run. It was open and quiet and had just enough challenge to not become frustrating. 2 points though; 1) the greens are SUPER DUPER FAST! Like, obnoxiously fast. Like, drag strip fast. I’m not sure if the cold make the greens firm or what, but even perfect shots and chips to the front of the green would just roll, and roll, and roll, and roll, right off the back of the green. It happened on almost every hole. It was like trying to hit an approach shot onto a parking lot. You could whiff on a putt, and the air would push the ball 10 feet past the cup. The greens are FAST. 2) I DO NOT see what the big deal about the airport is. People were talking about it like it was some great amenity to the course. No… its just a little rinky dink airport. AND, I think its crazy because one of the holes, you’re hitting into the direction the planes are taking off from, so a slice could literally cause a plane crash. One of our 4 actually came close enough that it might be something they want to look into.
As usual, I can’t speak on price because I have never paid a full price round in my life. If it ain’t under $ 30 on
, I just don’t go. For the price we paid (under $ 20), it was great.

Older course, never really crowded, up keep can be an issue, but I like this place. It’s a really nice track and with a little TLC this would be a gem. Beacause it’s an older course it’s not really long bur the greens are smaller adding to the challenge of this course. It’s easy to get to, 5 minutes from the Turnpike.
The have a resturant in the clubhouse and when it’s open the food was standard fare but pretty darn good cooked to order menu.
Hey it’s not going to host a US open any time soon but if you’re looking to play a round under four hours at a resonable rate with enough challenge to keep your competetive juices going then this is a nice way to spend a day outdoors.

So much potential with a great layout. Unfortunately, upkeep is horrendous. Greens and fairways need to be cut down. Payed $ 48 on a Sunday afternoon and walked out without finishing 18 because my husband and I were so frustrated with the course.
