Little King is the fantastic, old-timey shop that you’d want to visit for a quality sandwich. Clean tables available for dine-in, a wall of sandwich options and specials, and a counter with fast-working employees engineering call-ahead and counter-side orders of cold cut glamour all assure you that you came to the right place. Prices are incredibly fair running in the $ 6−10ish range depending on how much you load into your sandwich. That and the fact that these subs(heroes, hoagie, grinder, whatever) will satisfy a hefty appetite or make two meals for lighter eaters make it reasonable. Everything is fresh to order and toppings aren’t stingy. The chef salad that was made in front of me had cheese and egg fresh chopped in large quantities. I grabbed some chicken salad to go. Well-seasoned, with chopped celery, though a bit more heavy handed with mayo than I prefer and with shredded chicken instead of larger cubes. Depending on what you like — it could be perfect. This shop could easily gain more stars, but on my visit the wait was a bit long and service a bit frantic. A large call in order kept the counter guys busy, and me waiting for several minutes for my scoop of chicken salad. The gentleman who rung up my order asked if I wanted a fork, but failed to give me napkins. Silly little things, but for a deli I expect a quick in and out with all the fixin’s I need for a meal on the move.

A great place for a hoagie !!! It’s small little spot but crowded during lunch time, which means it’s good! I give it four stars because the hoagie is amazing. I will have to say different about customer service. They messed up the order three times and at one point had to remove one of the employees from the line. I was told we could call ahead and even delivered. However, their exact words, «even if you call ahead, we can still mess up your order». Well thanks for sharing, I’ll just watch you make it in that case. I will come back because it’s that good. Recommendation: try the south jersey Italian.

Since the new ownership, this Hamilton landmark had gone down. They now measure the meat which is about half of what it uses to be. I am done… looking for a new shop! Just not the same… in fact, I think Subway gives you more meat.

This is the best sandwich shop in the area, Everything I have tried is awesome. Try the roast pork sandwich or the Buffalo turkey special. The chicken soups are also great.

I have been going to Little King for a number of years. It has consistently provided very good hoagies and sandwiches during that time. The hoagie rolls are always very fresh. You have the option of ordering a plain or seeded roll. It is mostly a take out place with maybe ¾ tables for eating in. There are several refrigerated cases offering various soft drinks and water. You can call ahead for your order. The person working on the register makes a point of asking if anyone called in their order. I have gone to places where I have pre-ordered my lunch or take out only to end up waiting in line behind people who are walk ins. I certainly appreciate that attention to detail. Most people are walk ins. A line forms near the meat slicer. They have an assembly line process that moves the orders quickly. Moreover, if the order line gets too long there is generally someone working near the kitchen that will jump in to handle some customers. There is the typical menu handing on the wall behind the counter listing all of the offering. There is also printed flyers indicating many of the specialty hoagies being offered. They also offer a lunch special with a small container of macaroni salad with the special. It is very reasonably priced and plenty of sandwich for an older guy like me. I have also ordered both 3&6 foot hoagies for special occasions. These have to be ordered a few days in advance in order to have the larger 3⁄6 foot roll available. On request, they will put all of the extras(hot peppers, oil and vinegar, etc) in containers to be added by those people who want them. This is a family run business who do it the right way. Definitely worth the trip.

We ordered two sandwiches for LOCAL delivery(we are only 5 minutes down the road) at 12:15, didn’t arrive until 2pm! Called a few times to check on our order and was left on hold forever each time. One of the sandwiches was completely wrong(and was soggy) and the other was a hot sandwich but arrived ice cold. And the delivery guy had the nerve to ask us for his tip?! Rude. We called immediately to complain and the driver was sent back to refund us but he seemed to have an attitude. Definitely won’t be getting our business again!

A little sandwich shop that’s family owned the story has been around for fifty years and the food has not changed one bit. Sandwiches packed with meat and fresh rolls to die for. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. If ever in the area you should stop in you would not be let down

Solid tasting sub. All of the meat looked the same until I moved it to see if I got salami on it. Taste was semi-unaffected but I kind of like to see the cut and color of salami in contrast to the ham. Good run deli with an obvious following. HUGE shout out to the guy running the register as he kept asking for«phone orders» repeatedly. I absolutely hate ordering things and having to going to pick them up and standing in line with people that haven’t ordered yet. $ 7 and change for half sub was kind of pricey. I’ll try it again. Workers were really friendly.

I ordered a sandwich from this place yesterday for lunch and it was absolutely delicious the ingredients were fresh and had the right amount of mayo oil and vinegar her and seasonings and I would definitely return this will be my go to place for lunch. My only critique is that it was quite a wait and none of the stores staff greeted me and said they would be with me soon also they went overboard on the cheese they put maybe six slices of cheese on my sandwich I had to remove four bc it was only a half sub.

So after reading the reviews, I had to check this sandwich shop out. Its a decent hole in the wall shop in Trenton and had plenty of parking. The staff was nice and there are places to eat but a lot of people were taking their orders to go. So I went for the hot pork special which had sharp provolone cheese, peppers, horseradish, and mayo. I had to wait for a bit but the place was busy. The sandwich was good but not the best. The horseradish will open you up as you can feel it inside of you. Make sure you buy a drink. But all in all, I would go back here. Maybe if I try a different sandwich I will have to update my review.

Best hoagies in town or anywhere around. Little pricey but worth it to treat yourself here. It’s old school set up and I love it

We bought 10 large hoagies last weekend for a party. The workers came in early so we could pick them up early. And they did not disappoint! They were as delicious as ever! Our guests were from out of town and they LOVED them. Thanks Little King. I’ve loved you since I was a little girl.

The sharp Italian sub from little kings was mind blowing. I had taken my boyfriend to my favorite sub shop around me two weeks before he took me to little kings and it trumped the former hands down. Great bread, large size, and fresh ingredients. Can’t wait to go back.

I’m not a sub/hoagie/grinder expert, but this place is the real deal. And my picnicking companion who is can back me up on this point. Freshly sliced meats and cheeses, interesting sandwich choices, and assembled quickly and carefully. Our turkey with American was very tasty. I’m glad I got a whole instead of a half, but for 1 a half would suffice. There is a reason this place has survived for decades even though lesser places have encroached on their territory. Easily 4.5 not so little royal Unilocal

You might not know from the looks of the place, but they make the best hoagies in town. They only took cash up until recently, which was not great for me. Plus, they close early(then I’d go next door to Wawa). But, if you want a genuinely awesome classic sub sandwich, check them out.

I’ve had the opportunity to eat at this place a handful of times now and every darn sandwich goes down unbelievably easy. The bread is soft and soaks up excellent sauces or condiments perfectly. The deli meats are sliced super thin and melt on your tongue. Seriously good sandwiches here.

Hole in the wall, but subs were pretty decent! Hubby enjoyed his turkey hoagie, he said a nice balance between the load of meat and veggies. Sis and I had veggie hoagies, no complaints from Sis! Me, on the other hand, wish the whole wheat bread I had tasted fresher than it did, had a tad bit of that stale dry taste to it. And I had to ask for more onion so I could taste it on my sandwich. I wish I had just a tad bit more of the mayo, oil and vinegar on my sandwich. Not a bad veggie hoagie tho, I will try again if up this way, just hope bread is fresher. I tried the cole slaw which had a nice tangy kick to it.

Little King has been located in the same forlorn strip of shops since the 1960’s, when the price of a great hoagie/submarine/grinder was little more than a buck. Inflation waits for no man, but while the prices have moved up, this kingdom of sandwich has remained true to its cause — creating first quality sandwiches for several generations of Hamiltonians, and others fortunate enough to find the enchanted royal domain. Stepping inside is something like walking into a time machine. The place is clean and inviting, if rather small with only a few tables. The staff is Jersey friendly; like they’re distant relatives happy to see you again. It is easy to want to settle in and let the ambiance overcome you. But, even if you can’t hang out over lunch, the time spent examining the menu and specials, and taking suggestions from the folks behind the counter, is like opening your own refrigerator to see what you can find appealing to eat. It is that mellow. So, I ordered the Chicken Salad Special on Sesame Seeded Roll, Provolone, Red Peppers and Lettuce. It came in under $ 10 with a bag of Jalapeño Chips, and was really two meals. The value proposition was very pleasing. And, the hoagie was every bit as satisfying. Fresh bread, home chopped and mixed sweet Chicken Salad, nicely pickled Red Peppers and cool Lettuce, all conspired to bring a smile to my face as I took my first bite and tasted/felt the combination let loose in my mouth. Excellent! I opened it up to «crunchify» the experience with the chips inside the sandwich. Even better! While the second day was slightly less satisfying due to the absorption into the bread, it remained an above average lunch — one that I will be repeating with some regularity. There are several very good sub shops in Hamilton, but for my taste and money, Little King reigns supreme.

Was in the area for a business meeting and checked Unilocal for a place to get a sandwich. Had the pastrami on rye special with cole slaw and Russian dressing and a cup of chicken soup. It was a good sandwich and the soup wasn’t ready so I had to wait for it. 1 pm and the soup wasn’t ready seemed weird. I waited and it was ok.

Best sandwiches ever. The king rules the land. The turkey melts are a personal fave… But give their house made roast beef a try. It’s truly a sandwich to end all sandwich experiences. Once you’ve visited the Little King, other sandwiches will pale in comparison.
