I want to love this place, but it’s hard to tell when they’re even open because their hours and days change constantly. You also can’t call in a to-go order for any items on the daily buffet special, and have it ready when you arrive. After you get there, they’ll walk you to the buffet and fix your plate for you, but not a minute before. I understand consumption control, I just don’t understand why I can’t tell them what I want and them have it ready when I arrive. The whole purpose of ordering food to go is usually to save time; why waste an extra five minutes of my lunch hour watching you fix the plate and box up the food that you could have fixed before I got there? Lastly, the lady who takes the phone orders for menu items repeats every word of phone conversation, including your name, loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear. Now that’s just weird.

Buddy and I were starving after finishing a 3 day kayak camping trip nearby. Needed food for long drive home and this place more then fit the bill. Excellent southern lunch buffet. Usually I don’t like buffets, but QUALITY and variety of this one was amazing. Understandable why we got the last seats in the house at 11am! Prior posts said parking issues… must have been before the lot across the street was added. Pickup w kayaks sticking out the bed no problem. Service was incredibly friendly, coffee above average for a diner/café and atmosphere truly northern FL. Pleasant older gentlemen in cowboy hats and boots next to us gave tips to both of us to get the buffet and to my buddy on his pending fatherhood. And they didn’t even charge! And the bill almost seemed like the café didn’t either…

Went for lunch with my wife. Agree with other reviews regarding parking it can be problematic. My wife had the chicken salad pita… again since she had been before and loved the chicken salad. I tried the lunch buffet and liked it. Good southern food at an extremely reasonable price, $ 7.99. It was a Friday so they had fried catfish fillets, fried mullet, fried quail, country steak, turnip greens, green beans, swamp cabbage, Lima beans, biscuits, corn bread and peach cobbler. Even though it was near the end of service they kept bringing out small batches of all items. The quail, catfish and mullet were wonderful. Veggies were tasty. Country fried steak was ok. Gravies were so so. Cobbler delicious. Breads were ok. Service was great. Staff friendly and attentive. Establishment is run down but food was good and reasonably priced. Will return. Gave 4 stars but leaned more toward 3.5.

Great fresh brewed sweet tea. Had pork chop breakfast platter and it was awesome. Small place for seating, I guess all of Trenton comes here for breakfast :-) Will definitely come back as the have good food and staff very friendly. Was referred here by Huegenics hot rod shop who is painting my 1950GMC pick up.

I loved this place. Came in at closing and was still served. I cringe when I use this word, but«quaint» is what comes to mind. Very southern and friendly place. Enjoyed the chicken sandwich and feeding pieces of it to the cat outside.

Immediately I’ll agree with the earlier review about parking. It’s very minimal, and is now less than half what it used to be. That being said, this place is our weekend-morning staple for great breakfast. Lunch every now and then, but breakfast for sure. For more years than I’ll admit, we’ve eaten here. Pretty much since it separated from the Boarding House next door. It’s had changes, and ownership changes a couple times have brought unwanted changes and surly employees. However, those ladies that have been there from the beginning are just awesome. They treat us like family, and always make us feel wanted. We can affordably feed a family of 4 to the bursting point at breakfast for a little more than $ 20, which is great. Including our To-go cups!

Really good food, at a really good price. The only problem is finding a parking spot … seems like half the town eat lunch here every day.
