Covello’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant

Sometimes, it’s not just a place’s food that makes it a good spot — but its people. Covello’s was just that today.
Having gone to a funeral, the mood was a bit somber, but at the same time, I was meeting new people from my wife’s family, who are originally from Trenton, but now reside in California.
The menu is your standard fair: chicken wings, hoagies, gyros, etc. And they were all good. Very good in fact. But it was the owner, or who at least appeared to be the owner, that made this spot a winner for me. It was nothing more simple that basic conversation, which after a bit of fat chewing, revealed that he was also from nothern California originally, and after having taken a brief detour to visit his sister in Georgia [which apparently lasted for several years], he migrated his way north to Trenton. The details of our conversation are less important than the fact that he took an interest in his customers. That’s always a plus in my book.
And yeah, the chicken wings were really good!
