Been coming here for years since it was Manetas. Moved out of the area but was in the neighborhood so decided to bring my boyfriend here, totally hyped it up to be one of the best diners in the area too. Boyfriend ordered an omelet with a side of bacon, I ordered the ribeye wrap which comes with peppers and onions– I asked for no peppers. Food came out which seemed like forever. The bacon was cold and they omitted the onions in the wrap and it was packed with peppers. I asked the server for fresher bacon(I’ve been a cook– I know it’s not cooked fresh every order, but cold?) and a side of onions. After that she didn’t check on us at all. As we were leaving I asked the manager if the place was under new ownership and he said no, but blamed everything on being understaffed because of Valentine’s Day? I was gonna give it one star, but they’re getting two because at least the manger took 10% off the bill. meh.

I came in super hungry and ready to feast. Unfortunately, due to our lousy server, Julio, that was impossible. Not only did we have to wait 15 minutes to get waters, but we also had to deal with Julio’s negative attitude the entire time. I’m vegan. Which means I have to ask all these questions about sauces and dressings(I know, SO annoying. But I have to!) I asked for my veggie sub to be toasted and it came out cold. I said no sautéed spinach and instead regular, cold spinach and it came out extra sautéed. I asked if there was any dairy in the honey mustard and he said he didn’t know. When I asked if he could find out, he said«it’s not my job to know». What kind of a diner hires people like this? We had to flag Julio down on multiple occasions for coffee and water refills. In fact, we actually had to ASKHIM to clear empty plates we had neatly stacked on the end of the table minutes after delivering our food. To top everything off, he argued with me about having roasted peppers in my sub. He said they were jalepenos; I’m pretty sure jalepenos are spicy and don’t taste like roasted red peppers. But maybe that’s just me(sarcasm). This is the kind of diner where you have to pay after eating, so I pulled him aside to express how I felt. He immediately got defensive and told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. Overall I will never stop by here again. If I do decide to give Broad Street Diner another chance, I will make sure Julio is not my server. You let me down Broad Street Diner, you let me down! SIDEBAR: The house salad was delicious with balsamic. But that’s about it.

Always good food, any hour of the day. Fast service, seated quickly, priced well. Out of all the diners in Hamilton, this is the best one by far.

My family ate here this evening(2 adults, 2 elementary-aged kids). We live nearby and have eaten here a few times over the past few years. My wife has never been a fan but time has clouded her memory and prompted another visit. I’ve always been an advocate of this place, but after tonight, I doubt we’ll be going back. All four of us are feeling ill. My wife is actually in the bathroom throwing up as I write this(one of the reasons I AM writing this review). The food was gross. Everything from the soups to the macaroni & cheese to the salad dressings all had the qualities of being processed/pre-packaged. Nothing tasted as if it was made fresh or from scratch. I had the Fried Flounder & Jumbo Fried Shrimp Combo w/fries, a salad, mac & cheese and a Manhattan Clam Chowder(definitely canned). I know fried foods are risky and come with a certain level of guaranteed stomach cramps, etc. But I get a craving once and awhile that can only be satisfied by a good dose of saturated fat from a dirty old fryer. Well… The Broad Street Diner has outdone themselves. Acid reflux and a gurgling stomach is where I’m at. My youngest has burped up a few times after only eating a few pancakes(for dinner) and a few strips of bacon. I’m giving a 2-Star review instead of 1-Star only because I have had a few decent breakfasts at this joint, but what short-order cook at a diner can really screw up breakfast? Dinner on the other hand is chock full of opportunities to screw up, and that they did. Sorry BSD, I believe this evening’s visit was the final nail in the coffin. There are way too many other good restaurants around here(our«Go To’s») that we know we don’t have to gamble on whether or not we’ll get a good meal at.

Broad Street Diner is a small diner on the outskirts of Trenton with plenty of parking in their private lot. The sign outside boasts of their ice cream, which I did not get an opportunity to try since I visited here on a weekday for breakfast. There are a few seating options within the Diner, counter seating, 2 person booths and 4 person booths. The 4 person booth was a bit tight. The table and items on it looked like they could use a good scrub down. The breakfast menus contained a few pages worth of items, including weekday and weekly specials. Everything was priced very well. I had the fried egg and bacon sandwich, it was decent, which came with a(BIG) side of delicious home fries.

This is a solid diner. My dad moved to Maryland awhile back, and when he comes up to visit, he always likes to grab a bite to eat here. He generally orders lunch, regardless of the time of day, and he loves the large sandwiches. I’m more of breakfast person, and BSD does that well, too. My son is fussy, and also at a tough age, food-wise, though he’ll eat the pancakes and bacon. He told me awhile back, that he prefers McDonald’s hotcakes(I’d like to break him of McDonald’s!), but after our visit last week, he said that the diner makes them better. Victory! The restaurant is clean and service is efficient. I’ve never had anything blow my socks off, hence the 4 stars, but I have no complaints either.

I stopped by with my dad for dinner on a weekday. We expected it to be less busy, but the diner was full. When we left, people were waiting for tables. Granted, the diner is on the smaller side, but I still find that impressive. They could do a better job cleaning and brightening up the place, but overall it was nice. There were a few flies and fruit flies, though. The owner, our waitress, and all the staff members I interacted with were such gracious hosts and made me feel at home. Everything was timely. A dollar goes a long way here. I ordered a dinner special, corned beef with cabbage, and it came with soup, salad, and dessert, all for about $ 11. My dad got chicken marsala for around $ 10 and it came with soup and salad as well. Their salad wasn’t very impressive. They weren’t consistent with the ingredients; my dad had carrots and I didn’t. It’s a lot of lettuce and a few other garden salad vegetables, and it tasted like something I’d throw together. The ingredients were all fresh, however. Both their split pea and chicken noodle soups were good. The salt level was pretty decent, and they brought saltines to go with it. The soups were full of flavor. My entrée was pretty large. Two quarter wedges of cabbage and a boiled potato were topped with a generous amount of corned beef. I enjoyed everything. The beef was a little sour and barely salty, which let the flavor of the beef shine through. The cabbage was tender and buttery. My dad’s chicken marsala was also a generous portion. Unlike other versions, the chicken was cooked in slices. I enjoyed the flavors. He also ordered a baked potato and mixed vegetables as sides. The potato came with two cups full of sour cream. I would have liked some butter. Also, the vegetables came in a tiny dish and I’m not sure if they were fresh. I ordered some cookies and cream ice cream for dessert. The flavors seemed very artificial to me, and it was getting soft and melty when I got it. The food here is closer to 3 stars, but the friendly service and great prices bump it up to 4.

I feel it’s more of a 3.5, but the service from Michael was good enough to give them the benefit of the doubt. Seated quickly and politely. Michael came over in a few minutes to take our order. Seats comfy but need of a little TLC. Hubs says restroom needed a wipe down but had nice décor. Potato soup: Huge spoon. Kinda thin, but liked the flavor and chunks of potato. Eggplant parm: Eggplant was too mushy. Sauce was too salty. Fries has a slight under(not after) taste. But Hubs ate the whole thing, said it was average. Mushroom/cheese omelet: Average diner omelet. Under seasoned, as usual. Cheese was melted inside, which I like. Some diners just put a slice of cheese on top. Homefries were good, not mushy and no pieces of non-potato food like I’ve gotten at other places. $ 22 for two adults: Not bad.

There are better diners in the area but likely owned by the same guy. That leaves it to the management. The French onion soup has various herbs floating around and the flavor suffers because of it. Don’t send anything back you will piss off the«cook» and he will realy screw it up. This place needs a good cleaning.

Ate here for the first time on Sat 3⁄14. What a great meal! They were super-busy but the service was excellent and the food came out FAST! Beef barley soup was amazing. Peanut butter cup ice cream to die for! We will return here many times.

First time ever that I did not need to use condiments(salt, pepper, ketchup, etc) to my meal or my family’s for that matter. Everything was deliciously seasoned, well cooked and presented. Kudos to the staff! Four stars, only because we were not offered refills or water. A great place to eat and have a peaceful time!

This is a very nice diner. It’s not old and outdated like 90% of Jersey diners. I can’t remember if they rennovated the previous business or if it’s an entirely new building, but the diner itself is less than 10 years old. They have a typical diner menu, consisting of a little bit of everything with huge portions and great prices. Service is always great no matter what time of day it is and best of all, they’re open 24hrs, 7 days a week.

THEFISHANDCHIPSARETERRIBLE!!! They advertise fish and chips as a special on Wednesday and Friday nights. Don’t get it! ITSUCKS!!! The fish was mushy, scaly, all curled up, greasy, and tasted bad. It must have been frozen for who knows how long! It was in no way, shape, or form a nice, thick flavorful cod fillet that was lightly battered and fried the way Fish and Chips are supposed to be. It came with some regular fries that were nothing special.

New to the area — needed to find a good diner! Service was excellent — probably one of the best experiences I’ve had in a while. Very attentive, friendly, and not intrusive. Food was okay. Potato skins I would not order again. Fried potato boats, a strip of bacon, and probably melted velveeta cheese. Soups were good, chili was okay per the boyfriend, salads crisp, and our meals were gigantic! My turkey melt was hanging off the plate — the french fries were deliciously crispy. Boyfriends lasagna was a little weird. The ground beef tasted a little taco-ish…but he still ate it, lol.(who orders lasagna from a diner… smh) Only thing of note — if you get sat by the kitchen, obviously expect it to be loud and noisy as the wait staff is hustling around shouting their orders. Overall a solid 3 stars. Will be back for breakfast!
