Elmaro Vineyard

This place was the perfect stop for our 10^th wedding anniversary! The view was gorgeous I mean what better view than grapevines and corn fields for my farmer husband! The staff was so helpful and knowledegable of their wines I enjoyed listening to her. The cheese platter was TERRIFIC and so yummy! We enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio which was absolutely gorgeous on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. And the wine was terrific not a bad choice! I really hope we can get back!

Absolutely best experience to have at a winery. You’ll be impressed with the wine and atmosphere. Friendliest place to be and you’ll be sure to find a wine you like. It will be hard to leave without buying a couple of bottles. A lot of award winning wines and a view to take your breath away. I suggest the artisan with salami plate and sitting down with a bottle on the patio. They have an email list you should get signed up on, it gives you all the events they have for the month. There isn’t a bad thing to say about Elmaro. I strongly suggest going there.

What a great place to be. We came in for a birthday adventure. From the first person we met, Sandra, we knew the quality of business. Sandra had such knowledge and underlying friendliness that we would have stayed all day long.
The product offered by Elmaro is top notch. The vast selection of products offered is generous and every one was tasty. The pairings offered and suggested were amazing!
To get a true value of a place like Elmaro and their affect on the community is truly shown in the mother-​daughter team of winemakers, Lynita and Laura. We got a chance to talk to each of them separately before we knew who they were. Their dream and vision for their community and their business is amazing.
They all take great pride in their product and are excited to share their vision and the quality of the products they get local and beyond.
We will be back many times and we wish to thank them for the day!

Went here with some friends for a wine tasting. It was 3 samples for free or 7 for $ 5. Totally worth the the small bit of cash for a few extra samples. The woman who served is was knowledgable and friendly and the wine was delicious. The prices of the wine were surprisingly cheaper than I expected which meant I could bring more home.

Amazing winery in a very unexpected area. Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

We were on vacation in Rochester, Mn and also Winona and heard about this winery. Elmaro Winery was a very enjoyable experience. We did a wine testing and, tried a cheese plate with a bottle of wine on the patio. The wine and cheese and ambiance was very enjoyable. We bought some wine, and when we return to the area we will visit the winery again.

Loved this little winery! We stopped by last Saturday and had perfect early fall weather (sunny and low 60s). I felt like I was back in Sonoma, CA!
The tasting room is new and clean, and the outside has a very large patio with lots of comfortable chairs.
They offer 3 free tastings and you can get 7 tastings for $ 5. I really liked a lot of the wines. I would definitely recommend stopping here if you are near Winona, MN.

This is just a lovely place!
The staff is warm and wonderful. They have a really nice selection of wines to try and beautiful setting to sit and enjoy them. The setup is both classy and comfortable. They have created a truly inviting space where everyone can hang out, relax, and enjoy!

Amazing service, great wine, I have absolutely no complaints. A must try if you like wine and are in the area. The scenery is very pretty and the tasting room features works of art from local artists for sale. The staff was very knowledgeable about the different processes of making all of the different wines.

I live in Chicago but my family comes from the area. Every year I haul my family up for a visit. Elmaryo opened 3 – 4 years ago and now it has become a tradition to visit the winery and bring home a case of their newest award winning wine. Insider hint: try the La Crescant. It is one of the grapes grown on site, and their 2013 vintage is an amazing wine that reminded me of a fantastic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with a finish of… well, a finish that you can only find with this variety of grape. My favorite summer wine (and my wife and I drink about a bottle of white wine a day during the summer, so we know what we are talking about). Open a bottle of your newly purchased case and enjoy the amazing view on the patio. This is what summer is supposed to be about!

Great little winery! The owners have spared no expense and the location is really peaceful and beautiful. Their white wines are quite good and cheese plates are great. I highly recommend.

Stopped here on Veteran’s Day weekend this year. Unfortunately we did not realize that there was a concurrent Wine Tasting event — the Great River Road Wine Trail that same weekend. After frustration with the wineries on the Minnesota side we stopped here on a Sunday afternoon expecting to find more bitter and sickly sweet reds, or mouth puckering whites… imagine our surprise to find the closet thing to the Hahn Winery in Monterey County, California. Score!
ENVIRONMENT: Well lit, spacious tasting bar. Outside patio with a very excellent view and hidden seating. Clean and spacious restrooms, and an event room where the trail tasters were set up. Crackers were provided between each taste.
WINE/​FOOD: They are one of the few to be able to turn out a dry red from the Marquette grape. This was truly appreciated after trying so many sickly sweet reds along the road. Also offered were tapas — plates of cheeses, meats, bread, olives, etc., at a reasonable price. Available for purchase were artisan chocolates and other edible goodies, as well as candles and other gifts. We brought a picnic lunch with us which we supplemented.
SERVICE: We were attended by Cameron who noted right away that we weren’t a part of the Wine Trail participants and stepped up to show us their best. He was knowledgeable and welcoming, even inviting us to the music and food later that day for the Wine Trail Participants even though were not a part of the group. We were also there to witness the receipt of a letter from the First Lady of Wisconsin praising the vineyard after her recent visit. I couldn’t agree more. We ordered food and a glass of wine and were attended to while we sat on the terrace. Heat lamps were available making this a comfortable experience on a windy fall day.
OVERALL: The wines are less expensive than other vineyards in the area and personally I felt that they were some of best. This plus the ambiance of the vineyard, the view, and the friendliness will bring us back. It is a hidden jewel and well worth the return trip!

We stopped into Elmaro on our way home from LaCrosse. What a pretty vineyard! They had a Princess & Pig Release party going on. We did the three free tasting and ended up with a bottle of the Pig and some snacks to bring home. They said that they are just about to their one year anniversary. I hope they stick around for a while. Their wines are pretty solid and they have a good vision for the place. The tasting room was nice and bright. They partner with local farmers for their sausages and cheeses. The patio was spacious and overlooked the vineyard. There was a band out on the patio while we were there. It was a great vibe. They have a banquet room and a space for large outdoor tents. They have started doing weddings. I won’t be surprised a bit if it becomes a known venue for that very soon. It is a beautiful setting and they could not be nicer.
