Best most reasonable rates in Traverse City. Always busy so call ahead for appointment is strongly suggested. Very skilled at manicures and pedicures. Pedicures include hot rock massage of calves and feet. Awesome!!! Only place in town that offers this. Family owned. Jolen is the best.

After trying a bunch of Nail salons, this particular LA Nails really impressed me and won it’s spot as THEBEST, in my opinion. Missy is a fantastic nail artist, who knows how to pamper you in style! My pedicure was SO nice, and she took her time giving me the best hot stone massage to ease my sore legs(after a trip to the Dunes!) Her nail art was stellar. It’s been seriously 2 weeks later, and the cute rhinestones are STILL intact, along with the beautiful Hawaiian plumeria flowers she so gracefully painted on! My gel manicure was great too. perfectly applied and chip free for 2 weeks straight! Bravo! I can’t wait to return and get some more LA Nails love. This time I’m bringing my girls along!

This place was a godsend. Third times a charm, right? I went to two other shops before finding this one. Being as I am from out of town I relied heavily on Unilocal reviews to find a decent nail salon. The two others before LA nails were highly rated so I figured go there and alls well. No. Not the case. The first one I went to was terrible — dirty, small, slow. Second — only had ten shellac colors and totally filed my nails wrong. Being as I was getting married in a day I needed some serious help. So i went here to LA nails. They had a bounty of shellac colors, tons of space, many employees. I was finally happy with my nails. And they are reasonably priced! I will never go anywhere else again. Trust me — GOHEREFIRST!

I called to make an appointment and asked specifically for a female technician. I was told that this was not a problem by whomever answered the phone. When I got there, a male technician sat in front of me. I politely said«I asked for a female when I made the appointment». They made a scene out of switching the male tech with an available female tech all the while talking in Vietnamese about it. The place was packed and I felt that the scene making was unnecessary. I told the manager that it was nothing personal about him, I am just uncomfortable with a male rubbing my legs, which is why I asked for a female when I made the appointment. This experience ruined it for me. If they can’t honor a simple request(which they said they would when I called) and then tried to make me feel like an ass about it, well, I will take my money elsewhere.

Really great service. Called in the morning and made an appointment no problem. We got to the salon and waited maybe five minutes. My sister and I both got pink and white acrylics with cute designs, and the prices were very reasonable. Very friendly and didn’t try to confuse us by up charging without our knowledge(like most other salons). Definitely will be going back for our full!

Chose LA Nails on a whim after looking at Unilocal reviews. Wasn’t disappointed. GREAT french gel mani! Will definitely go back for pedi when I am in TC again… they use hot stones for basic pedi!!!

I think they suck. They take forever to get in to have your nails filled and your brows waxed. I think they do a really great job at doing my brows. The only draw back is sometimes she can be a tad rough and sometimes the wax can get into the sides of my hair and onto my nose. When I get my nails filled I feel they do a really rushed job stick me with the same fem guy my nails are never rounded enough they always crack on the sides after a few days and I have to go someplace else to get them fixed. If I’m going to pay 25 dollars for a fill I want to be pampered like a princess. I would tip If I got a good fill on my nails. Over all fab job on the brows

So I never go to get my nails done, but I do have an OCD tendency to always buff and cut my cuticles, never, EVER missing a day with polish. I was leaving town for work for a week and decided that a 3 hour time difference, meetings, networking, and fun would be a perfect time to get a Shellac so I didn’t have to worry about chipping and bringing along nail polish remover. I’m an Essie girl so I am used to long-lasting, quality polish, so I decided to head to LA Nails last Sunday to get the infamous 2-week gel manicure. Well, it’s Tuesday, and NO chipping whatsoever. The color has grown out a bit, but it still looks great. I’ll probably go back in tonight or tomorrow to get the color fixed– deep, shiny red– and have even convinced my mom to come along with me. She’s a fan now, too! My only complaint is that the nail tech didn’t paint close enough to my cuticles. It already looked slightly grown out when I left the salon. Maybe he was just avoiding getting color on my skin. Who knows. Anyway, 4 stars. I’ll be back soon!

LA vs TC.(nail shops) LA wins by a little… Wedged between a KMart and a Payless, LA Nails is actually just fine. An average nail spot. It won’t rock your world, but it won’t give you nail fungus(probably) either. And, you can pop over and shop at KMart or Bath and Body when you finish… My mom and I popped in for some primping and both left with the same feeling. Really great on the prep work(cuticles, buffing the heels, exfoliating, hot stone leg massage), but the paint jobs were pretty mediocre. I really expect to walk out of a nail place with perfection, because even those only last a few days! Starting with marred mani? Not so exciting. If I were to return, I’d def go in for a pedicure with a light color. They will literally scrub the shit out of your heels and feet to the point of gray, calloused skin being piled on the floor in front of you. In a good way, they get down to the nitty gritty. Not sure why this is their speciality(my mom’s gal did the same thing) but my heels still feel very smooth even a week later. Ma’nails thought? Meh. Color selection is OK. Standard OPI, but nothing that seemed«new season» to me. A line of off-brand super bright colors… but I never trust anything besides OPI and Essie. Staff is really quite nice and pleasant. Shop is moderately clean, though I did spy a huge bin of aforementioned gray dead skin piles in a dustpan, which icked me out x10000. *Manicure/Pedicure: $ 33. *Tips can be added to credit card. *About 6 pedi chairs and 10 mani stations.
