I went to a wedding reception here. Great venue! Nice art, spacious layout, terrific place to hold an event. My friend’s wedding reception went off without a hitch. Everyone loved it. It definitely made more one of the more interesting wedding venues I’ve seen. Apart from being an interesting venue to host events and live music, the art inside is really of a unique flavor. It’s where eclectic fuses with commercial. Interesting sculptures and mixed media presentations abound here. To call it funky would be an understatement. It’s not the art featured in larger, more renown museums, but I liked it. The works of many indie artists are well-represented thanks to this little Traverse City gem.

I like this place. A lot. Great art, great beer selection, food trucks most days. So there’s open mic comedy first and fourth Fridays of the month, and that’s pretty cool. Also, some pretty neat bands and musicians come here to play. The people who work here are very knowledgeable, nice, and helpful. Overall, I’d say it’s a great place to go. Seriously the art is awesome to look at and you can bike here, they are super friendly to several types of people. Oh and PBR, the corn syrup GMO beer of the future, is under grandpa beer. How funny and apropos!!! Parking sucks but I have a feeling that’s not their fault. Right on the bay and it’s in the heart of the warehouse district. Pretty sweet place to hang out. The restrooms are amazing too, for what it’s worth!

Retro lounge. Event space. Stage and screen. A very unique spot in the heart of the up-and-coming yet trendy Warehouse District of Traverse City. I came here for a tech event and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of space there was for mingling, grabbing appetizers and settling down at a table near the stage. Very big space with two sides to choose from– one a bar, the other more of a conference room.

I realize this place might be on Unilocal under something else but I’ll forge ahead anyways. This venue is a gallery, concert space, and bar/café(?). They sold drinks, I dunno about food. Onto the art, there was this crazy awesome dress made out of barbed wire and chicken wire and it could be yours for only 450 $. We looked around to see if it was titled, but we gave it the nickname of ‘bondage.‘ There were also a variety of shadowboxes, sculptures, and some collage/découpage type thingamabobs. The whole scene has a funky, off flavor to it, but again it works.
