I have been there three times this week to get pumpkin donuts the kids eat them faster than I can get them and the Dutch apple crumb pie is absolutely the best! I don’t know what will do when they close at the end of the month.

Just went here recently on our journey back from Maple City. Phenomenal nectarines! They had a great selection of local produce. The store houses wines and baked goods inside.

I’ve seen people practically fighting to get the last pizza bread because it is so delicious. Turnovers and donuts are a must try and the people working there are very nice. We live down the road and my wife gets sad when they close for the winter.

Two words — pumpkin donuts. You might think you don’t like pumpkin donuts, but you would be wrong. These are delicious. They also make yummy cherry turnovers and delightful breads. They carry an assortment of veggies — including lots of organics. This is a must stop if you are near Traverse City.

Much has already been said; like that their produce is actually local i.e. grown by them or TC area farms. They sell hot/fresh«pizza» bread Thursday thru Sunday for $ 5.50. Very tasty although overpriced, but when you add in all the freebies for the kids(sheep, pigs, chickens to look at; a toy barn with toy animals to play with), well worth it.

This was a distance for us but it was a pretty drive — fog all the way up 75 and then lake and lake and lake! We did our own sour cherry picking and filled three buckets super quick! Will be making cherry bounce and pies and who knows!

We loved our recent visit to Gallagher’s! We picked our pumpkin, weighed it on their cool antique scale, got a peck of marvelous honey crisp apples, a bag of sweet and delectable pears, and headed inside. The baked goods and cider smelled so good! The place was super busy. We got a couple of pumpkin donuts and some hot cider and took our goodies home. Wonderful place to visit! There is lots of fun to be had for little kids, too.

Lovely market! Can’t wait to try all of the different butters and jams we bought. It smelled so good inside, we wanted everything! ended up purchasing spies, grapes, apple crisp mix, cherry almond butter and pear jam.

We got quite a few treats from this place for breakfasts since we were staying nearby. Their pumpkin donuts were to die for and the cider we got was really good too. I think we got cinnamon rolls too and I didn’t care for them but my husband liked them. Great apples that helped fuel road trips and we had fun visiting with the animals out back. Will definitely be back if we happen to be in the area.

While staying at the nearby, redoubtable B & B, Wind in the Pines, one of our fellow guests asked where to get cherries nearby. Our hosts pointed over the hill and mentioned their neighbors, Gallagher’s. As someone who often abjures touristy places and souvenir shops, I was pleasantly surprised by Gallagher’s. They had an abundance of local produce(cherries, of course, peaches, corn, blackberries, potatoes, cucumbers, etc.). Most of this is either grown by them or nearby farms. There were also lots of local food products made from the produce(cherry jam, mustard, corn chips made from local corn and so on). I was particularly impressed by the cherry salsa(one of the best salsas I’ve had). There was also a good selection of homemade pies and ice creams at the front counter. The store also has a good representation of local wines. This is good for those who want a taste of the renowned Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula vineyards but don’t have the time or energy for the wine trail. To top it off, there is a barnyard area behind the store where the roosters, chickens, pigs and goats roam. This is great for kids or people, like me, who just like to see animals up close. In summary, Gallagher’s is everything I would hope to find in a market that represents a taste of local food. If every farm market were run by farmers like these, I’d probably spend a lot more time in them(and be a lot bigger!).

Our family found this place on the way from Traverse City to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was awesome! We thought it was just another cherry stand but we were hoping for a pie. They have fresh pie, donuts along with homemade cherry salsa(delicious), jams, jellies and even local wine. The store was cute and then we went out back and it is practically a petting zoo! They had sheep, goats, chickens, pigs and a cat laying out in the sun. My girls were in heaven. Later on we ate the pie and it was delicious too. I can’t say enough good things! We are going back again and again!

We just visited this place last week. It’s next to their farm on M-72, they have a separate store offering the following, Meat/Eggs/Vegetables. Onto the eats: they offer a variety of jams, jellies, preserves(some of their own brand and I also saw the cherry republic brand), t-shirts/sweaters, decent looking cheese case, insanely good cinnamon doughnuts, other dairy, breads, veggies/cherries/fruits.
