I stay here regularly for business and personal trips. The employees are amazing, the complimentary breakfast is great, and the rooms are always clean. They go out of their way to provide an excellent customer experience and I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

I stayed here when I came up for a friend’s wedding. The accommodations are okay and the rate was really good. I found out why– they had a high school sports team, coaches and chaperones staying the same weekend for a tournament that we were in town. Yikes, they were loud, disruptive and basically took over our entire floor. It would have been better had they been on a different floor, but they weren’t. They hijacked our floor, took over the pool for a fairly long period of time and ran screaming up and down the halls. We called the front desk to complain about them and we weren’t the only ones to do so. Still, it’s a nice hotel– when there aren’t screaming kids roaming the halls and such. Continental breakfast was pretty good, with lots of items, fresh fruits, etc.

We booked a little late for our weekend in Traverse City. On the bright side, we were lucky to find a room with 2 months notice for points on an August weekend. But there were some problems, which we alerted the staff to. 1. The in-room A/C unit was leaking, the carpet was damp and the room was very musty during our entire stay. We didn’t push it as we knew that the hotel was full and we wouldn’t spend much time there, but we were pretty congested every morning and should have pushed it harder 2. The breakfast buffet was like a chum-in-the-water frenzy — too small for the number of guests, they ran out of bananas both days and in general had trouble keeping it clean and stocked. The eggs ran out the second day, the fruit ran out the first day and was frozen on the second. The line for the toaster was crazy — buy another one. 3. The room and TV were both undersized vs other hotels I’ve stayed at in the area. On a positive note — it was quiet, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly albeit maybe short staffed. Book ahead and stay at the neighboring Courtyard, where we had a much nicer stay on our last visit.

A newer marroitt property, sort of a newer Courtyard, which is just down the road. Clean, with new carpet and bedding, but the bathroom was a little dated. The shower frame was showing a little water damage. Its located South of Airport road, off M-31. You can’t see it from the road, as it is tuck away behind a Cracker Barrel restaurant. There are a couple of signs, we over shot it, and end up in a Sam’s Club, but there was a side street connecting them. They have small pool and an exercising room, and a breakfast nook. Breakfast was fine, powder eggs, waffles, and ceral. It’s not really near any attraction, maybe the grand traverse mall. But it’s priced right, and most of traverse City and area is easily accessed. Good value for the money, is a decent hotel.
