Desert Sun Tanning

My first time going to Desert Sun Tanning was an awesome experience. They have a large selection of beds, friendly staff, hot bulbs, and an inviting environment. I definitely recommend this tanning salon for anyone that’s looking for a great tan and even better prices.

The other review shouldn’t scare you from visiting this salon. I’ve gone to most tanning salons around this town and I would say Desert Sun is one of the top 3 best tanning salons around here. Desert Sun has the hottest bulbs, compared to the other salons. I will get darker quicker, even with my first tanning visit.
As for getting an airbrush tan, I’ve never got one done at Desert Sun, but I’ve done it before at two different salons and both times, I had the same problem as the other reviewer. I don’t blame the salon itself, but I blame the airbrush tan. I’m assuming the other reviewer and myself, did not follow directions correctly. I even used lotion from a very upscale salon for the mystic tan. But somehow, it always comes out that way. I personally don’t like the Mystic airbrush tan and this has happened to everyone I know who has tried it.
But as far as the salon goes, I would recommend this salon for anyone who wants a good, solid tan. I don’t recommend the airbrush tan for anyone, at any salon. I’m really sorry to hear about her tanning disaster, 2 days before her wedding. But she should have played it safe, for such an important moment in her life, and she should have just got a normal tan in a bed, a week before her wedding. Or, go to one of the upscale salons and use those extreme beds that get you a perfect tan with 1 – 2 times use. Its the same price as the Mystic tan, and its a 20 minute process. But you do not burn, get skin cancer or anything less than a perfect tan. NEVER use Mystic Tan 2 days before your wedding!!!
My only rant about this salon– The staff isn’t as knowledgeable, as other salons. The employees are all young kids, fresh out of high school who look like they came right out of a Gap commercial. They kinda just ‘work there’, instead of becoming familiar with their products and beds, like other salons. But they aren’t bad, I’ve seen worse.

I got an airbrush tan here 2 days before my wedding. The results on my arms, legs, torso and face were great, but hands and feet came out horribly uneven and orange with blotches and very obvious lines. Don’t listen to this guy when he tells you his formula doesn’t require you to put blocking lotion on your hands, feet, and elbows — he has no idea what he is talking about. Come prepared with that special lotion they give you at nicer salons. Other than that though, my tan looked nice and brown everywhere else. Better than mystic tan in a booth.
