Such a cute little place. I had the sweet potato and avocado frittata and my husband had the farmers omelette. Both were amazing. But what stopped me dead in my tracks was the wheat sourdough bread. It. Is. Amazing. Don’t waste your time with other breakfast places. Come here. I’m most sad that we won’t be around for lunch… Their kale and pork soup sounds absolutely delicious.

One of the previous reviewers talked about rude customer service(and specifically the head waitress or manager) and I have to echo that review. Extremely rude and unprofessional — I’ve never experienced anything like it in any other restaurant. I’m sure it would have been fine if it wasn’t for that one employee — the two other employees were friendly and apologetic. But the person in charge? I would recommend that the owner find someone else to represent their business.

Wonderful breakfast and friendly and fast service! Our son loved the potatoes — and he never ever eats potatoes at a restaurant. Farmers omelet was delicious and tangy.

A gem of a restaurant for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday! Our party of six was promptly seated without any issues. It’s a cozy restaurant that serves amazing dishes. I had the smoked salmon cake bowl that had smokey flavors out of this world. The breakfast potatoes served under it were incredible. To complete the deliciousness, a large piece of toasted sourdough with several kinds of homemade jam. Just wowed. My husband got the Cajun bowl with andouille sausage and raved about it. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. Outstanding place!

A hidden gem… We were planning on eating at another establishment, but it was over an 1 hour wait for a party of 6. We just happened upon The Blue Herring 2, and were so thrilled that we did. A culinary delight in each breakfast dish… The presentation and flavors which made up the dishes were pure perfection… We all had different dishes and each selection we rated as 5 star’s. Will definitely recommend and will visit again when in the area.

Awesome country style breakfast. The healthy choice of cereals did not disappointed either. Go for the Dearborn shredded ham. You won’t regret it. Super friendly staff. Great little place.

My wife and I were looking for a small café for breakfast after our morning run, and being on vacation we didn’t want to fall into a tourist trap. Brad Ashcroft(Chef) and the staff at the Blue Heron 2 did not disappoint. This small, quiet, and not crowded place was perfect. The food was divine and the staff was cordial and sweet! Cajun bowl was yummy and the breakfast quesadilla was perfect! I highly recommend!

First time visitor on a Sunday morning. Small cozy place; creative menu with delicious food. Small menu with unusual combinations. Farmers Omelette was made with sweet potatoes and chorizo sausage. Wonderful flavor. House made sourdough bread either white or wheat. Might be priced at upper limit for breakfast [the only reason for four stars] Definitely will return.

Dropped in for breakfast and coffee. Unfortunately, we didn’t pick up any baked goods but the bakery case was full of some tasty looking goodness that looked worthy of a purchase. Maybe next time… I ordered the Country breakfast and opted for eggs over easy, taters & bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly – the eggs were what I’d expect farm fresh eggs to taste & appear, super thick cut bacon that was cooked so that it wasn’t oddly limp or overly crispy, and the taters were sliced thin(but not chip thin) enough so that they were evenly grilled. Prompt coffee refills made it possible to be fully caffeinated for my morning. We didn’t have a wait since it was oh, 9:30AM on a weekday in the slow season. Overall, good solid breakfast food with attentive service in a clean place that didn’t make me question whether I’d want to even eat there.

Stopped in for breakfast while visiting TC for the winter beer festival. Small menu of mostly locally sourced ingredients. I had the farmers omelette with chorizo and sweet potato. I was very good. My personal preference is to have the ingredients cooked into the omelette not folded in the middle but can’t fault them on that. The sourdough that comes with it is really good to. My table mates also really enjoyed their food as well.

Nice breakfast options. Small place but nice and with good service. Homemade preserves on the grilled sourdough bread was very delicious. My omelette was perfectly cooked. Bacon is thick slices and flavorful. Variety of doughnuts and muffins available.

My husband and I stopped here for first breakfast while on our honeymoon and we instantly fell in love with the place! The food is incredible and the staff are some of the friendliest we’ve met. Our waitress was so kind and gave us a lot of local recommendations and we could tell that the staff cares about their customers. She even told us that the coffee we were drinking(which was excellent as well) was local from another local coffee shop in the city. Definitely will be recommending to our friends and family!

Great breakfast and service is good, just a little slow. It wasn’t a busy Saturday either –there were about 4 tables occupied and 2 waitresses. If you’re in rush, don’t expect to be in and out. My husband and I weren’t in a rush, so we sat back and relaxed. The coffee is delicious! The food, very good! We’ll be back.
