It’s taken me 100 years to do my college courses. I’ve taken some here, some there, taken a break, a couple more here. Finally, I decided that it’s been long enough! I need to finish up my general ed, so I can transfer and graduate. I’ve lived in Tracy for a few years now. I work in the tri-valley, but I’m not going to attend school the same days that I work. Therefore, I decided to look into Delta College in Mountain House. I’ve driven by it thousands of times, when taking Altimont Pass Road home, But I never thought of attending school there. I realized that the first week of fall classes had begun and I hadn’t signed up for anything yet. So I went into the office and spoke with the lady who works in there and told her my situation. She said that the counselor was doing drop in appointments and that there was only one person in line, if I wanted to wait. I decided to do that and waited, maybe at the most, 20 minutes. I spoke with the counselor and he went over what classes I would need to take. He needed to see my transcripts from the other community college I had been at. I had them at home, luckily there was a cancellation for an afternoon appointment with him, so I was able to go get the transcripts and bring them back. When I went back for the appointment, he set me up with the classes that I needed to take in order to transfer to UC Stanislaus. He told me to go to the classes that I needed to get into and add then because it was still the first week of classes. I was able to get into all of the classes that I needed for this semester. The campus is really small, which has it’s pros and cons. The classes were open, so I was able to add them, instead of waiting for people to hopefully drop or not show up and be added. The classrooms are newer, so that’s a plus. The teachers for my current class are really good and engaging, which is nice than listening to a monotone teacher talk for hours on end. I can see this campus growing a lot in the future. I’m glad that I started taking classes here, actually more sad that I didn’t do it sooner.

After spending most of my time at the Stockton campus, I found myself able to focus more here. It’s less high school like and although it still has tons of fresh out of high school students, they dont seem merely as immature and rude as the other campus. I like the smaller campus better for safety reasons too.
