Relax & Rejuvinate Day Spa

I have been getting good a massage from Melinda for over 5 years. Her room is well appointed and creates a relaxing environment Melinda takes her time asking what areas are in most need of attention and if you are not sure she will definitely find them. She has been doing this for many years and her skills are second to none. The only caution I would give is don’t plan on being useful after she is done. You will walk out looking so relaxed and as functional as a bowl of mush. I highly recommend her.

Seriously, Melinda is truly gifted. I am very picky with massage, because I hate that surface pathetic rub that leaves you wanting more. Melinda is in tune with you… she will ask you what level of pressure you want, and yes, the woman can deliver the deep tissue! The ambiance rocks… dark, tastefully decorated room, with candles and great relaxing music. You can just float away here. If you are having a specific pain or issue, tell her, and she will work it out! But she is also amazing if you just want a relaxing, escape massage. I have been to massage therapists from hawaii to calistoga, napa, santa barbara, pebble beach, you name it. Melinda is one of the very best.
Just make sure to not be shy… communicate what type of massage you like, and give her feedback during– she welcomes that. She wants YOU to have a great experience. She also will not talk your ear off, which is nice for me. But if you want to chat, she will reciprocate appropriately.

MELINDA IS AMAAAAAAZING!!! Massage Therapists are born good, a certification doesn’t mean a thing if you don’t understand bodywork. Melinda can find the tension and knots immediately with just the right amount of pressure! I am usually asking for more pressure but this was not the case with Melinda… she absolutely knew what I needed! I have received massages from some of the best and high end spas around the world… Melinda is definitely one of the BEST and I don’t say that lightly! I woke up with a tension headache and she fit me in the same day and worked wonders! The atmosphere is gorgeous, the staff are super nice and genuine. There’s nothing worse than walking into a pretentious salon/​spa with snooty people… especially in Tracy… LOL So needless to say, I LOVE IT HERE!

Due to the heavy lifting of objects at my business, my neck and back were causing me headaches and lost sleep. I don’t go to get a massage often because I’m so busy. When I do go, I want someone who is experienced, independent (not part of a chain), has certificates and awards in his/​her skill, and friendly. I want someone who not only will listen to my wishes, but then focuses on a muscle group that is a particular problem at the time when I request.
I went to Melinda based on the 2 reviews here, as well as, because this person was in my town.
I left Melinda a message and she returned my call back within an hour. I was in luck as Melinda had one time slot for that whole day. I booked it.
The location is very nice. Décor was inviting, not too feminine or masculine. All the workers were really cordial. I needed work and pampering, and I felt a relaxation come over as soon as I entered and was greeted. Melinda has a beautiful smile and calming voice. She listened, communicate well, and was not routine like a robot. I had her concentrate on back and neck instead of the typical full body massage. She listened when I wanted her to change pressure and she added pressure or applied less as needed. She felt my pain and even went a bit overtime to complete the necessary type of work it took for my painful areas. I tipped big because she really deserved it. I secretly wanted her to go ot anyway. She must have read my mind.
She gave me simple tips on what I can do at home, but i can’t see any replacement for her massage.
My back and neck improved so much, I stopped taking anti-​inflammatory medication for a couple weeks. I will only go to Melinda from now on.
Other massage types I’ve tried:
Registered RN turned Masseuse: Fantastic Massage, poor décor, a bit doctor like, too many stretches.
Massage Envy: relaxing décor, too much non-​pertinent talking during massage, didn’t concentrate on my problem spots well. Little robot like, however, not a bad massage.
Chinese in the mall: Super rough (left 2 bruises), don’t know the difference between muscles and the spine, robot routine massage, décor is not relaxing. Don’t speak many words of English.
Lodi’s Wine & Roses: Very good atmosphere, all day spa.

Melinda is great! I went to her after seeing her review on Unilocal & decided to try her out. I was suffering from tension headaches for a month and a half and after an hr with her, she practically healed me! I told her where my problem spots were and she listened and ackowledge. She even taught my bf tips on how to massage me when I’m home! I am definitely going back!!! Thank you, Melinda!

Melinda Black gives the best massages I’ve ever received in my life. And trust me on this— I’ve had massages on cruises, at retreats and resorts, at day spas all over the world, and none of those compare to hers. (I know, that totally sounds unbelievable. But I would never lie to you Unilocalers!) She is attentive and responsive. She makes you relaxed and comfortable right away with her kind disposition and soothing atmosphere. And being a firefighter, my body is sore and achy a lot, and deeply, but Melinda really knows how to get me back on track.
The price is absolutely CHEAP considering the level of service and amazing-​ness of the massage ($ 60/​hour, $ 90/​hour and a half). If you really care about your over-​all health, and Tracy is within an hour of wherever you are, it is totally worth it. I promise you. Even though we moved from Tracy to Sunnyvale, we still make the trek back for appointments with Melinda. We have referred many of our friends to her already. You will definitely thank me later, and you will be a Melinda fan just like we are.
