Handy Randy’s Handyman Service

I love when Handy Randy, or Kevin, comes to fix things. I’m so busy that there would be no time to fix things myself. Plus I don’t know what I’m doing. It’s always a great experience because he’s very dependable. He’s always on time and could do pretty much everything. He’s helped with fixing a fence that was knocked down, helping me with the plumbing when the sinks and tubs got stopped up, changed the lightbulbs that are high on the ceilings, installing child locks on the cabinets, even lowering my 1 year old’s crib. He’s very fast! With Handy Randy around who needs a husband to help out around the house? I’m already making out my next list of what I need help with.

Property manager sent them to my house to look at my kitchen light which is the fluorescent kind. Ever since we moved into the property, one of the light bulbs kept flickering so we decided to put in a new set of light bulbs. After a week or so of it working it suddenly just won’t turn on so then we switched around the light bulbs to see how we can solve this matter. Anyway, to make my story short, they came into my house to look at it and once they opened the cover he easily told me there’s nothing wrong with the ballast and it just needed a new bulb (in which this time we have changed it twice within a span of just 4 months) I explained to him this dilemma and he just told me off like I’m some kind of an idiot who doesn’t know anything about these things. He also told me that we just kept buying «defective» lightbulbs in which is the case with this ballast not working how it supposed to. Anyway, they left me fuming mad and so disappointed. I decided to buy another new set of bulbs to get this over with. The first day it was working well, then the next day it was back to square one. I just kept looking at that fixture thinking when will that darn light turn on. It’s been almost a month now since this «handyman» looked at my dilemma and aside from that one day it worked, there’s no hope for that light fixture. I still kept the old bulbs that he took out from there to remind me of how incompetent they were to address this matter. Good job guys!!!

After having some handymen for repairs, I finally found the good one named Kevin. Wish I found him four years ago. He was able to do few things that the others failed. Kevin always on time and got jobs done in timely for reasonable prices. I already have some jobs waiting for him to do next month. Go get him. Highly recommend !!

Randy was always quick to respond and his work was excellent. Once Kevin took over the business the service remained just as high. I highly recommend «Handy Randy» for any handyman type of chores you need done. We have been using «Handy Randy» for about 7 years now and need to call on them no less than 4 times a year. I have NEVER been disappointed with their work, work ethic and their pricing is very fair and competitive. I agree with Shawn C and need to shout out some love to these guys!

Had Kevin out again today and do a bunch of things on our to-​do list! It’s so nice to have things get done quickly and it still be affordable. He installed a ceiling fan, repaired some molding and painted and also installed window treatments and pull-​out shelves in our kitchen cabinets. He did this all in 2 hrs, which would have taken my husband a whole Saturday to do. The great part is Kevin is very affordable, cleans up after he’s done and always comes on time.
We’ve been using him for over 5 years now and recommend his to anyone!

First of all, this is not owned by Randy anymore. I believe the Best in Tracy rating
must be for the previous owner, because I cannot imagine Kevin (new owner’s name), qualifying for this award.
I did not receive a written estimate, only verbal. The amount changed between the original verbal quote and what he billed me for. The bill was $ 300.00 more. My bad for not getting the estimate in writing. I did not object as Kevin’s newly hired «helper», looked like a Norteno gang-​banger who had spent a lot of time in prison (gang-​looking prison Tatoo covering every visible part of his body), with his red shirt and red shoe laces. Needless to say I was nervous about being home alone and having a confrontation with these men.

The work was performed

Unreliable. I called on 7÷19÷12 to get an estimate done for a few jobs around the house. Their answering service said I would get a call back before the end of the day. Randy called the next day and told us that he will come by in the afternoon. I waited all afternoon and he was a no show. I also didn’t get a follow up call from him to reschedule or to let me know why he was unable to make it for the appointment.

I’m a remote landlord in SoCal that was looking for a quality and affordable handyman to take care of maintenance and service needs for my home in NorCal. My tenant was extremely pleased with Kevin’s timeliness (i.e. arrived on time, completed work quickly and efficiently), professionalism (i.e. took his shoes off, didn’t look around the house), and the quality of the work performed.
Kevin and his team completed caulking the kitchen, two bathrooms, patch painting in different areas of the home, cleaned the laundry room exhaust fan, and repaired door frame & wall damage within 45 minutes.
Kevin promptly emailed me the quote for service within minutes of completing his review of the work requested, and I really appreciated the added convenience of him being available via text, phone or email even during off-​peak hours at night. His level of service completely took away any former concerns I had of locating a handyman (especially since I couldn’t meet them in person) that I could trust in my home to do a quality job, not make the issue worse, complete the work timely, and offer competitive pricing.
Kevin is my official contractor and go to guy for all future service and repair needs. He emails me the invoices for the work completed, and I send him a check via my bank’s bill pay. Kevin makes being a remote landlord a little more effortless.
I spent some time researching reviews on different handymen in NorCal and want to thank all my fellow Unilocalers out there that helped me find Kevin! Handy Randy’s Handyman Service was my first and best choice!

Kevin is now in charge and he is super knowledgeable and fast. Having a handyman gives me more options since I know there is available help for a very reasonable price. He has installed several ceiling fans and has put together tables, chairs and bedroom furniture. He installed my HD TV and mounted its rack. I love that Kevin and his helper are always on time, or maybe a couple minutes early.
