The best shrimp fried rice on the planet! The owner is also very pleasant and personable with the customers.

I have no qualms in saying that this is one of my favorite places in Towson. Let me rephrase that, this is one of my favorite places in the United States of America. Does the fish match the fresh quality of its downtown rivals, like Azumi? Probably not, but at the same time is it a quick, enjoyable, and delicious option when one has a hankering for high quality sushi. The space itself is really inviting. While there are a few tables off to the side for bigger parties, the real action is at the sushi bar, which is a long bar that is surrounded by a conveyor system. During busy times you can find a large variety of sushi making its way around on very colorful plates that all have different(but very affordable pricing). From there you can leisurely eat a few plates or decide you only live once, and go to town. The service is awesome. The wait staff and owner are all super friendly, always making sure you have a filled drink, and are well taken care of. You can also order food from the kitchen if sushi isn’t your thing, which is always nice for those weirdos out there who don’t like sushi, but want to keep their sushi loving friends company. As for the food, the quality is high. While there is a very wide selection of sushi available on the conveyor belt, the best part is that the sushi chefs will literally make anything you want to order as well. While everything is good, I always make sure to order a salmon tartare(not on the menu, but trust me its unbelievable). There is something really special about going to a restaurant, being sat immediately, and seconds later having good sushi in your mouth. Its an experience worth repeating.

Kyodai is definitely a fun place to have sushi! The restaurant is nice and clean and has a casual vibe with plenty of bar stool seating. I went on a Friday night around 7 with a friend who had been several times before and were seated quickly. The sushi here is pretty decent– there’s a wide variety of sushi options and entrees rotating around the table top(prices are dictated by the color of the plate). I ordered the california roll, shrimp tempura, and crab stick roll, together for about $ 11 dollars. I thought the shrimp tempura was the best one out of the three. I was really pleased with the service– the staff was attentive. Will return soon to try more adventurous rolls next time!

Best sushi join in Towson and they can customize rolls to your liking. Ask Jose for his special roll!

Every time I dine here my experience has been perfect. Quick, great sushi, and great service. I highly recommend for those on lunch breaks and and a quick dinner.

great concept. sushi comes on a rotating bar. the color of the plate determines the price and you keep track of your total by how many plates you collect. if you are a sushi beginner this is a great way to get introduced. great price and great sushi I wanted to go back the next day after the first time I went.

Wasn’t much selection to choose from on the conveyor belt, pretty much you have the common selection(california roll, dragon roll, shrimp tempura roll, tuna roll). If you wanted either sashimi, appetizers or any other rolls: you have to mark it down on the sheet menu and hand it off to the employees. Overall fair price for decent sushi, the sashimi are decently thick slices.

Fantastic sushi, plates clearly priced. Spend as little or as much as you like! Cheap beer, friendly staff. Simply wonderful. Get there early if you want to have the best experience, and they validate parking too!

I am giving Kyodai Rotating Sushi 5 stars because they are great at what they do for a reasonable price. The owner, Tony, is very friendly and personable. He really wants your dining experience to be a good one. If you like sushi and don’t want to wait a long time for it to be prepared, this is your place. As soon as you sit down at the bar, you can grab a plate and start eating. The prices are determined by the color of the plate the sushi is on. **There is a secret item not on the menu that is amazing. You have to ask for«Tuna or Salmon Tartare.”** Not only is the sauce they use the best tartare sauce I’ve had, they pile on a very generous portion of fish. And, to seal the deal, it cost less than $ 6.00 — I’ve seen the average price for this around $ 13.00 in other restaurants. As much as I love Kyodai for the staff, food, prices, there business model does not cater to the super fancy sushi dish. If that is what you’re looking for, come back another time for a unique experience and enjoy! As you can see, I am a big fan.

I’m going to be honest. I have a guilty pleasure and it’s called rotating sushi. The quantity of selection depends on what time you get there(less choices the closer you get to closing time). The lights are dim, there’s a few televisions, and some tables on the side.

This place is good and affordable… and its sushi! They make solid small roles on the conveyor belt. They also hand roll specialty rolls and sashimi. The service is decent, the staff polite and an overall I always come out satisfied.

Good sushi, not great. But you can’t beat the speed! If you’re hungry, just take a seat at the bar and grab what looks good! Of course you can order off the menu, too. Sometimes I wonder how long a roll has been sitting on the carousel, but if you come at a busy time, the dishes are constantly being taken and replaced with new things.

Sitting at a bar with a rotating conveyor belt with sushi makes for a pretty exciting meal! The sushi was surprisingly very good and fresh! It was nice to see the sushi chefs make the rolls right in front of you and serve it immediately. I got 5 rolls for $ 15 so you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck. However, there was something that was ten times better than the sushi… the fried oreos! They are AMAZING!

The sushi is certainly not the most delicious in Baltimore, but it’s pretty tasty and it comes fresh and immediately. As the name implies, you sit around a conveyor belt of endless sushi and choose what you want as it passes – it’s pretty awesome. They will take orders as well and are very accommodating. Unfortunately, the chairs are pretty uncomfortable and crammed very close together, so it’s not exactly somewhere you’d want to spend a long evening.

Good sushi and great atmosphere. Pricing is a little confusing with each plate color equalling a different price amount. Ultimately would go back. It’s a nice place to go before or after a movie.

Service and flavor win again! We were taken care of by Chrissy. She was amazing!!! The rolls were really good. Then the sauce that came with the shrimp tempura was sooo delicious! Then they orangish sauce which Chrissy called«Japanese cheese» was off the chain. It’s not hot at all as the bottle suggests. 2.50 for fountain soda. But the rotating sushi barade it fun and enjoyable. Then we capped it all of with a lesson on the beloved kissing fish. I won’t give it away you have to go see for yourself

This place didn’t impress me very much. I went here after a couple colleagues were raving about it. The rice to filling ratio was bad and the fish itself was bad. I also ordered the shumai which was really really disappointing. The sushi belt gets turned on and the sushi gets put on in phases. The sushi was bad and I won’t be coming back. Before I left I thought I’d give their dessert a try to redeem themselves. But alas, their fried Oreo was also a big big disappointment and a total waste of money. You’re really paying for the experience, so if you don’t mind that then it’s an alright place. But there is a sushi joint across the street that has way better sushi sans the rotating sushi belt.

This isn’t the best sushi I’ve ever had and, as others have mentioned, some of the rolls can seem a bit skimpy. However, you can get a plate for as low as $ 3!!! And being able to pick out whatever I want as it comes around is far too much fun to miss. I loved the novelty of the rotating sushi and the prices. Both rolls I tried were decent for the price and everything seems fresh. They also have a menu that you can order from, but I didn’t opt to do so. Overall, I’d recommend it just based on the novelty factor and the price alone!
