Yankee Pedlar Inn

Check in was easy, the room was cooled for us ahead of time! Was very nice on such a hot day! Super clean, I am very picky! I had to tell the guy at the front desk how happy I was! Elevator was not working so we did get the whole experience! LOL!

We stayed here over the July 4^th weekend for a family wedding in NW Connecticut. The building has a lot of character… and it has a clever name. I can tell you — we’ll never stay there again.
Here’s the thing. When we checked in they gave us an old-​school mechanical key. Not ancient but 1980s vintage. I noticed when i slipped it into our door lock there was a lot of play in it. I ended up with our key plus my inlaws key to a nearby room in my pocket, and accidentally used their key in my door… and it worked. So i tried our key in their lock… and that worked too. That pissed me off so i knocked on 2 other doors in the hallway and it worked on one of those two as well.
Moral to the story… dont stay there if you want any semblance of personal safety. I had my 9 mm handgun with me and i kept it within reach. But i aint doin the Pedllar ever again. You decide for yourself.
Btw…the A/​C wasnt adjustable so all night i kept turning it on and off. At least that kept me alert so i could stand security watch!
Find another place to stay.
