brought my mother in law(90 years old) out for lunch, she hadn’t been there in years, we parked right out front and walked 10 steps to the front door. She loved the pasta with meatballs and the bread was delicious, home made. I order a small pizza with cheese and pepperoni, loved it. very nice family business. The restaurant was clean and there were several people coming in and out to pick up orders, the people in Torrington are very friendly. We had a nice time. We will definitely go again

Loved the pizza, and the owners are really sweet and authentic Italians! But one thing to improve is cleanliness. It smells old, and for that reason we won’t be going back to eat in the actual restaurant. Take out is okay. I hope they update. Torrington needs good quality dining experiences to attract more people and make Torrington an actual destination, and unfortunately this place loses out on a great opportunity to be a top restaurant in the area. Food is very good. Just need a couple thousand dollars and a little make over. Good luck!

I don’t typically review restaurants as I know it’s a tough business but I can’t let this experience go. We have eaten here before and the food was good but last night it was a nightmare. Our waitress was great when she wasn’t being berated by the other one which just added to the experience. The bread was good and our hot antipasto was ok but then all bets where off. My wife ordered the manicotti and it came out cold. The top cheese was brown and crisp like it had been cooked, refrigerated, heated up then cooled down. The cheese was coagulated and cold and the pasta alternated between crunchy and soggy. Needless to say she left most of it, yummy! I had the Zuppa Di Pesce Fra Di avolo which I can’t even describe. The fish was ok but the flavor was nothing I have experienced, let’s just say not good. My daughter was the smart one, she ordered pasta with olive oil and Italian sausage. The pasta was fine, it’s hard to mess that up but do not eat the sausage. It looked bad from the start and she tried to take a bite but the smell stopped her and she put it down. I cut a piece off and smelled it. It was like it had been cooked a week before, refrigerated uncovered then put out in a bowl with some cold sauce. I don’t think my dog would eat it and he eats soap. Needless to say we won’t be back.

Anthony’s is a mainstay of the very limited Torrington restaurant scene. Their pizzas are nice. Their Italian dishes are tasty. The major problem I’ve always had with Anthony’s revolves around their salads. Oh. not the quality. The quantity. They charge upwards of $ 10 for a rather mundane salad. Fresh, yes, but ordinary, and all too skimpy. My friends, lettuce is dirt cheap. For heaven’s sake, put a little in the bowl! I’ve actually stopped going there because I was tired of paying those inflated prices for such a very substandard salad. Perhaps they’ll listen this time??? There’s always hope!

used to be fans. not anymore. food preparation and flavors have slid off the cliff. bruschetta clearly states it has procuitto on didnt.greasy mess of an inch of mozzerella on top. half cloves of garlic half raw. baked manicotta tastes like it was outta the freezer and baked to a nasty mush. chicken franchese isnt what it used to be. not for me anymore.

Our favorite Torrington Pizza. If they delivered, I would give them the 5th star.

I really like this place. I don’t come often as I can’t really afford to go out often, both from the pocket standpoint and waistline standpoint, but if I want authentic Italian food, this is where I go. It is worth every single penny. The décor is not much to write home about, but it gets the job done. The food does all the talking. I have loved everything I have had here, including the lasagna, fettuchine alfredo, or just the straight up spaghetti and meatballs. For authentic italian food in Torrington, I really don’t know if it gets any better than this place.

It was my B-day Oct. 212012. I have been home bound for over a year and after surgery I could finally walk. My son asked me where I wanted to go and I said Anthonys. Always had good food there in the past. We got there at 1pm on a Sunday. The place was empty, but for the three of us. No one else came in while we were there. I ordered the special of clams with baby shrimp over pasta. It was $ 22. I picked out the shells from the tasty clams. The shrimp were smaller than my pinky nail, From a can! I had to keep spitting it out into a bowl because of the tiny clam shells in every bite. It was like someone put a ½ cup of chrushed glass in my food. I complained to the waitress. She was sorry and went to the chef. She came back and told me the Chef says: «You have to expect shells when you order clams. He will make you another entrée but you will have to pay for it and will still be charged for the first one.» Good thing we ordered garlic bread because I only swallowed less then a half of cup of food. I felt sad, because it was the first time I had been out to dinner in over 2 years. My son said«next time we go to the chinese buffet.

Don’t let the décor fool you, the food here is worth every penny. I have been eating here since I was a little kid and when you say«Anthony’s» my mouth starts watering. The pizza is good, but I go there for the entrees. I have my favorites and I am never disappointed when I try something new. The best things on the menu: 1. Fried Calamari — I have never eaten fried calamari that compares. I just love it. I have come once or twice and it was overcooked and it was still better than anywhere else. My family actually qualifies real love as when you are willing to give that person the last piece of calamari at Anthony’s. 2. Veal Piccata — this dish is simple and perfect. A couple medallions of veal with a couple pieces of broccoli in a lemon butter sauce. I have actually dreamed about it. I literally wipe the plate clean. 3. Linguini with Red Clam Sauce — great sauce, tons of clams and enough for the next day. I know a lot of people say that the location and ambiance call for cheaper prices, but this food is quality. I love the fact that I can wear jeans and eat an amazing Italian meal.

Pizza is very under cooked and doughy. Way too pricey for such a low quality product.

When we went I think we were the only people there so the service was good. We ordered a pizza with onion and sausage. There was nothing special about it. The crust was thin and crispy which I like. Looking at the menu, the entrees are a bit pricy for the restaurant but the pizza seemed decent price. I won’t go out of my way to go back.

Ah yes, another childhood favorite. I’ll be fair though. Yes, fair through birthdays, occasional kids trying to dine and dash, gooey cheese… But really. I admit, prices have went up and quality down. But it’s still relatively good pizza, which isn’t hard to say because Connecticut has so much of it, I should know, I don’t live there. It’s good fresh and still holds up in reheated leftovers(which is the real test of time). The mussels too. It’s just a good, cozy family restaurant where you can grab a booth and enjoy a night out. Whenever I’m in town with the parents, I always claim my steady half pie of bacon which in New York is scarcely found.

One of the best pizza restaurants in town. We ate there a few times(the dining area is a bit on the small side) but mostly prefer the take out.

My favorite pizza anywhere. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of my childhood — Saturday night pizza at Anthony’s, then Dairy Queen — but it still makes me happy. I always get pizza, but other people seem to like the other food. And the bread is SO good(ask for a cup of marinara sauce to dip it in). Plus, Tony sometimes comes by our table to say hi before going back to the kitchen to make our food. So homey, so yummy.

Anthony’s. Tasty food, on-par service and a decent atmosphere. Definitely not the best Italian food I’ve ever had, but it won’t disappoint you. The service is alright, you usually get some very attentive individuals, but I have seen a waitress there take it to a ten over a silly dish dispute.

It’s a very small, brightly lit family atmosphere, but the food is sensational. Traditional Italian recipes and a great staff make this place very worthwhile. Their sauce is sweet and savory, and the bread is always fresh and tender. I recommend the veal parmagiana. Mangia!

Great Italian food. A little small inside. One of the best clam and garlic pizzas around.
