I’ve had a long contentious divorce with an unreasonable ex-​spouse. David Yamamoto has handled my case with professionalism, poise and skill.
In one hearing, David was forced to defend me after a family evaluator had recommended that my weekday overnight visitation be discontinued. My situation looked bleak and I was dreading the worst at that point.
David took the evaluator’s report and asked the evaluator pointed questions which undercut the report’s conclusions. David’s questioning forced the evaluator to honestly answer questions which defended my position and good parental record, and which undercut her own conclusions. As a result, the evaluator herself openly agreed in my ability to be a good parent and the judge was able to see through the questionability of the evaluators report and rule in my favor, granting me the weekday overnight visitation that I requested.
David’s cool and collected court performance was a masterstroke, very persuasive and impressive. He completely flipped my bleak outlook into a good judge’s ruling in my favor, and I am forever grateful.

I went in for a $ 250 consultation with Mr. Yamamoto. I was seeking council for an ugly divorce and read that he was pretty good. For $ 250 I learned that my case was not good enough for his agenda, however, he has an associate who charges $ 100/​hr less ($ 300/​hr instead of $ 400/​hr) and she would be happy to take the case. Don’t get me wrong. Ms. Woods is a decent attorney, however, I felt like my case was put on the back burner. Long story short, I had to let go of my attorney because they were charging me way too much for not putting in that much work. I understand that lawyers are extremely expensive, and I was anticipating a huge bill, however, as I went through the charges, I noticed I was being charged for things that I don’t think she did. For example, they billed me a ridiculous amount for an email she didn’t even read. I was crushed because I met up with her to discuss the email and she had no idea what it was about. I was going through the email catching HER up on it. Also, her paralegal, Angela, was very rude to me right off the bat. She called me with a very snobby attitude in regard to an issue that had already been resolved. She later apologized, however, that is not how clients should be treated. So I ended up walking away from the divorce with an ex who pays almost nothing in child support, less than half of my property, and a huge attorney debt.
