What nice people! They opened the door for me and walked my food to the car for me ! And they were very fast with my take out order! Everything was delicious the only criticism I have is that the chicken wasn’t good tasted rubbery but I am still giving five stars because I’m pregnant so it could just be me

Really good but expensive. Menu says $ 1.75ea but they serve with 2 pieces so it’s really $ 3.50 per order. Not sure why people says it’s inexpensive, costs $ 40 per person. Fatty tuna and salmon were my favorite.

Sushi cravings brought me to Sushi Yoshi’s door step. Hits and misses would describe my lunch here. It’s a small sushi joint. A sushi bar for 5 or 6 peeps and a few tables for 4. When I sat down at the sushi bar, they had the door open. With my back to the door, it got really cold fast. brrr… I got the Chirashi bowl($ 9) not a bad deal. It had one piece each of the following: Octopus — the best from this mix. It was super tender. yum Surf Clam — I’m usually not a fan of this one, but it was good and this was a freebie, not on the list of fish for this dish. Halibut — was okay Mackerel — was okay Shrimp — cooked, meh Tuna — was very good Yellowtail — was okay Smelt Egg — was okay Egg — was delicious! The sushi rice was perfectly seasoned with vinegar. Yum! I was still hungry so I ordered: Sweet Shrimp. It was good except they don’t fry the shrimp head here. I was a bit disappointed. Salmon Roe. It was okay I asked the sushi chef what was good and he said«Giant Clam». Good? He said«Yes», okay! I’m not a fan of clams. It’s usually very tough and chewy. Not this one. WOW! The best sushi of the day. Super tender and sweet. Yum! I doubled down and asked again. Anything else good today? «Uni», Good? He said«Yes», okay! I should have stopped with the first one, lol. The sea urchin had a chemical after taste. Yuck! Not Fresh. Meal over. lol. Service was okay. I liked that when he gave me the Giant Clam, he told me not to dip it in soy sauce. Great tip. But giving me that nasty uni balanced it out(on a negative note) Price was reasonable. Just don’t get the«Market Price» items, they tend to be very expensive. Everything else was okay. I liked that each sushi item was priced by the piece. I could get a lot more variety this way than a traditional sushi place where you get two pieces per order. Rating; I’m conflicted 3 ½, but that bad Uni taste was the last item I ate and was really not good. Down grade to 3 stars. Would I go back, YES. But not for the UNI.

My friend recommended to me and I try. It was very traditional Japanese style sushi! We will definitely come back again!

Tiny as hell on the inside, but the sushi is LIFE!!! I don’t know if it’s the training, the rice, the preparation of the sushi but whether dining in our out you won’t be disappointed. #notaseriousyelper but this place #sensational

Cheap, hole-in-the-wall, no-frills sushi at great quality. A piece of uni nigiri is $ 3.50 – yum, craving that again! And some simple 6-piece rolls are under $ 3. Amazing! (Tip: They don’t have a restroom: plan ahead!)

Sushi Yoshi is a gem in Torrance. I haven’t had sushi like this since going to Japan. The quality of the fish and the presentation is on fleek. The service is excellent. They are really friendly here. Over all this place is a must.

I like this place. But I think that’s mostly because I liked the owner and how comfortably the atmosphere was. but, i mean, it’d be hard to enjoy food in an uncomfortable environment. and it’s kind hard to not enjoy it when it is comfortable. 4 stars from a biased customer ^^

Decided to check this place out after seeing so many high reviews on Unilocal.Had a late lunch at the bar without anyone else in the place, so service was incredibly fast. I could see how they might get bogged down if it was busy though. In any case, I’m a huge fan of the small sushi place vibe. I had a spicy tuna hand roll, salmon, makerel, medium tuna, and lean tuna. While I have had better sushi, thier spicy tuna handroll is one of my absolute favorites and the fish was freah and tasted good. Yoshi’s is hands down the best I’ve had so far in the nearby area and for such good sushi, you’d be hard to beat the price.

Really fresh fish everyday. Yoshi has the best pressed Mackerel in all of LA. Just order the No. 7. I also had toro here, it melted like butter in my mouth. I am definitely going back.

This place is a gem in the rough. Hubby and I have been coming for years and we love it. There are about 4 tables and bar seating. The owner/chef is a huge baseball fan, and that is reflected in the décor. The food is consistently good. I’m picky with my sushi, and if I say it’s good, it’s good!

We ended up at Sushi Yoshi because Doya Doya in the same plaza decided it wanted to be closed the entire Memorial day weekend. Sushi Yoshi was the only open restaurant in the entire plaza so we gave it a try. Their menu is pretty minimalist — just fish mostly. My friend got a bunch of different nigiri + cali roll and I got their chirashi. For $ 9, it’s pretty small but it got the job done with fresh fish and tasty rice. The restaurant is quite small — 5? bar seating, and maybe 4 tables. I would not bring a big party here. The sushi chef basically doubled as the waiter also. This place is alright if you want a no fuss sushi experience. — $ 20 minimum for CC — plaza parking lot shared with other stores

Sushi Yoshi is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall sushi shop. I call it a shop because there were only about five tables that can each seat two people. It is quite the hidden gem. I circled back and forth by the shop at least four times; it was so hard to find! The area is surrounded by body shops, and the restaurant has a small white sign that gets easily lost. After several u-turns, my friend and I finally made it inside. The shop is run by an old Japanese couple. We both ordered the chirashi bowl. The bowl was an adequate size, the fish quality was acceptable, but not great. The price was only $ 9. I also ordered salmon and uni, which were both all right. The entire meal cost $ 40, not bad for sushi. *Remember to bring cash; it’s cash only!

I’ve recently moved to south bay from DTLA and one of the things I miss most about LA are all the amazing restaurants that are practically right in front of your doorstep. I was so glad when I discovered Sushi Yoshi. This place is a tiny, tiny restaurant run by Yoshi San and his wife. I almost want to keep this place a secret because it’s so small. I love that it’s casual and never any wait when I visit. You won’t find any crazy, fusion rolls that are deep fried and drenched in mayo here. Yoshi San serves incredibly fresh sushi, sashimi, and a few basic rolls. This is definitely my favorite restaurant in South Bay. If you want great sushi, this is your place!

Kinda torn about this place. Really wanted to like it from reading all the reviews, but my visit here just wasn’t worth four stars. Like everyone has mentioned, total mom and pop shop. Service is a bit slow, but understandable. Food if you get just a set and don’t bother trying to order any individual pieces really is a steal, since a combo ranges from $ 9-$ 12. I have a small stomach and just the chirashi would have been cutting it close! The fish was fresh, but quality wasn’t remarkable. My pieces were a bit hard to chew… We ordered uni, fatty tuna and salmon on the side. The fatty tuna and uni were what cranked up the price on our meal because they were all seasonal prices that were not listed. Out of all the fish we tried, the only two I really loved and would want more of were the fatty tuna and the salmon. Maybe would come back just for those two?

FRESHFRESHANDFRESH! I read previously posted reviews and decided to give it a try with my friend. We both loved and appreciated the service and fresh sushi so much that we ended up going for round 2. They serve great combinations and their rolls(especially the eels) were amazing! They only had 3 tables, so it’s a very small place for a restaurant. So if you are a big group, I would recommend take-out. But, I would go back to this place again for sure!!!

My favorite Sushi Place in L.A. The best quality at the best price. If your up for a authentic, high quality, mom and pop sushi place. Like the kind you would find in Japan, this is you place!

I came in on a Sunday, which is not a good sushi day in general anywhere. What can you do when you just want something. It’s close, and I was feeling adventurous. I think I will try this place again earlier in the week, and see if the fish is better. I thought the rice was kind of broken, and soft, and the shad was a bit over salted. The saba was marinated a little longer in vinegar than I like, and the aji was a little dried out. Having said that, the chef still handled the ingredients well enough to taste pretty damn good to me, and considering the competitive prices I will definitely be back again. The fish being dried out from sitting in refrigerator for a while is no big deal to me. It didn’t make them smell bad, just seemed as though the shad and aji had lost some moisture. Actually it made them a little firmer in texture, which Is one of the reasons I like these two fish to begin with. They taste Good.
