One checker at 6:45 in the evening six people in line with big baskets and the sign says express lane. Horrible service.

You can always expect to be hit up for money from a panhandler and the manager doesn’t seem to do anything about it. Today there was a very aggressive and loud man in the parking lot asking everyone for money. The time before that I noticed a man finishing peeing against the building then changing his clothes. When I came out he was asking for money. Again nothing done about it. Your lucky to find a cart because of all the homeless people in that area that use them. It’s right across from Harbor General Hospital. I’ve offered these people food and most of them look at me like I’m crazy. One even told me «what am I gonna do with a sandwich, I want a beer»! The store is okay and the workers are okay, it’s just this one big ongoing problem…

This place is right around the corner… its so much easier than driving all the way to the grocery store when you know it is available here. Prices are fairly reasonable, even better when they are on sale!
Only issues I’ve had here are things on sale not being rung up properly. it is always fixed but it is just a pain that it has happened more than a handful of times in the past two years.

This Smart & Final, like most, is a quiet one. Most of the time there’s only one register open, even if the line to check out is long.
I can always find everything that I would need here, no problem. Prices are
awesome, selection is great, as is quality.
Returns are easy, too. As long as the packaging is closed and you have a receipt, you’ll get your refund, no problem.
Parking is never a problem, but random, runaway shopping carts can be. Just be careful whilst in the parking lot!

As far as Smart and Finals go this one is just ok. The one in south Torrance by the airport is far better in space and the quality of products. This one is middle of the road, but is a good alternative to the hustle and bustle of Costco. Also, the produce is pretty good and when advertised, it is tough to beat their prices. I do like that I can run in and out and get the products I need without buying a months supply, but getting a bulk price.

Smart and Final is a great place to buy certain items in bulk that you would not find in a Costco. I love the fact that this is the only grocery store I know in Torrance that sells bags of frozen mangoes (it’s great for smoothies).
The aisles, however, are relatively small.
